Current requests for reduction in protection level
[edit]Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

EJPPhilippines (talk) 08:50, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Hello,
I’m writing to request the removal of the current protection on the Wikipedia page for Helyeh Doutaghi, a living person. The recent edits have removed key biographical and academic information, including her research background, and scholarly contributions. These removals present a biased and incomplete picture, and their timing coincides with the addition of a one-sided controversy section.
This article concerns a living academic, and per Wikipedia’s Biographies of Living Persons (BLP) policy, special care must be taken to ensure that content is neutral, well-sourced, and not unduly damaging to reputation. By stripping out context and academic credentials, the current version violates these principles.
I respectfully request: 1. Removal of page protection to allow constructive, good-faith edits aimed at restoring balance; 2. Review of the recent edits that removed well-sourced academic content; 3. Oversight to ensure that future edits comply with WP:BLP and WP:NPOV.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. TechVerdict (talk) 03:18, 6 July 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page
[edit]Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
Please correct the Iranian civilian casualties in paragraph three. First it was changed without reason from 200 to 600. Then someone changed and separated the estimate by Human Rights Activists in Iran News Agency (HRANA) estimate to be over 1,100 civilians killed which is conflating all deaths with civilians. No source was added to support this. The sources currently listed next to these sentences actually say 200 but these are out off date. HRANA's latest figure is actually 431 civilians killed. The source is presently used in the infobox for their own estimate of 1,190 total deaths. The Iranian government hasn't released updated figures so that should be removed until they have an estimate. I suggest adding the following sentence:
"According to the anti-government Human Rights Activists in Iran News Agency, 1,190 Iranians were killed including at least 431 civilians."
102.17.120.130 (talk) 11:06, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
The issue is with the following section, and I believe it should be removed from the article:
"The 2023 7th October Attack which targeted Israeli soldiers and civilians, were committed by Hamas and its allies. With a barrage of at least 3,000 rockets launched against Israel and vehicle-transported and powered paraglider and infantry incursions into Israel, it was the deadliest terrorist attack in Israel's history and the third-deadliest terrorist attack in the 21st century.[260]"
My reasoning is that this page is for the War on Terror as a global military campaign against terrorist organizations. To include Hamas on this page seems to be biased, and its inclusion is political. I say this because most countries in the world do not designate Hamas a terrorist organization. Only a minority of countries in the world do. To include the military action that Hamas took and designate it as a terrorist action seems to be out of place in this particular page

Hi I would like to request the following edits to the **infobox** and **lead paragraph** of the Sial (tribe) article. These changes are based on multiple reliable historical and government sources that confirm the Sial or Siyal tribe is also present in **Sindh province**, where they are recognized as a **Sindhi-speaking community** alongside their better-known Punjabi presence.
Infobox changes
1. **Change:**
Languages: Punjabi **To:** Languages: Punjabi, Sindhi
2. **Change:**
Ethnicity: Punjabi **To:** Ethnicity: Punjabi, Sindhi
Lead paragraph change
3. **Change:**
“The Sial or Siyal (Punjabi and Urdu: سيال) is a Punjabi clan found in the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent, split between India and Pakistan.”
**To:** “The Sial or Siyal (Punjabi Sindhi and Urdu: سيال) is a Sindhi and Punjabi clan found in both the Punjab and Sindh regions of the Indian subcontinent, split between India and Pakistan.”
Add the following sentence to the end of the lead:
4. “Sial communities have long been settled in interior Sindh, particularly in districts such as Khairpur, Larkana, and Naushahro Feroze, where they are listed as Sindhi-speaking Sammat tribes in historical and modern records.”
Sources to support these changes:
- Hughes, A. W. (1876). A Gazetteer of the Province of Sind. London: George Bell & Sons. p. 191.
→ Notes Sial tribe among settled Muslim agricultural groups in Sindh.
- Gazetteer of the Province of Sind. Bombay: Government Press. 1907. p. 268.
→ Lists “Sial villages” in Sindh’s Kandiaro taluka, Naushahro Feroze.
- "Member Profile – Ghazalla Sial". Provincial Assembly of Sindh. Retrieved 5 July 2025.
→ A Sindhi-speaking politician from Khairpur elected as MPA under the Siyal name.
- "Village Ghulam Hyder Siyal, Kandiaro Taluka". Humanitarian Data Exchange. Retrieved 5 July 2025.
→ Confirms existing Siyal village in Sindh.
- Schimmel, Annemarie (1986). Pearls from the Indus. Oxford University Press. p. 111.
→ Notes the legend of Heer Sial retold in Sindhi oral literature, showing cultural overlap.
Reason for edit
Currently, the page only refers to the Sials as a “Punjabi clan” and only lists Punjabi as their language. However, multiple credible sources show they are also a **Sindhi-speaking tribal group** with historic and ongoing presence in Sindh, recognized in colonial gazetteers and modern government data. Adding these changes helps reflect the full scope of the Sial/Siyal identity and ensures accuracy for readers. Thank you Slowturtle33 (talk) 22:51, 5 July 2025 (UTC)

Autopatrolled[edit]
I've been here for almost two decades, with 30k+ edits and a fair number of articles created in the mean time. I believe I am well-qualified for autopatrolled perms. _dk (talk) 23:50, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
Hi. Based upon my learning and experience over the years of editing on Wikipedia (almost a decade now), I have created very selected pages which I find qualifying Wikipedia policies. If I find them trending in news but un-complying with the policies, I usually leave a redirect, or occasionally start with the draft. I believe not a single page that I created and/or majorly contributed has been deleted, and many respected editors and admins whom I had interacted with have always been helpful and supportive, believing in my good faith. Plus I only rewrite those articles in bad state which I find relevant, and not every other random article. However, due to recent attacks by sock puppetry over my edits, I want to be an autopatrolled user, so that I can easily continue volunteering independently here, and participate in the ongoing Destubathon as well. I promise I will not misuse this position. Thank you! M. Billoo 13:24, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
Requested this permission ~2 months ago, denied because I was mostly creating auto-notable stubs. I think I have expanded the types of articles I create, including well-sourced local pages or biographical entries where I take time to source subjects that do not inherently meet a generic notability criteria. (I still do create auto-notable pages sometimes, but those no longer make up the majority of pages I create.) As a new page reviewer, I got good experience with the notability guidelines reviewing articles during the backlog drive WP:MAY25, and also participating in AfD. Thought about requesting again as I have run into a few of my own pages while reviewing pages that are in topics I contribute to/am interested in. Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 02:15, 28 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello there, my respect to you! I would like to request for getting autopatrolled rights because I contribute interesting articles to both English and Simple Wikipedia. I have over 700 edits, which is over the requirements, and my account is over 3 months old. If I get autopatrolled rights, I will never forget this appreciation I got and I will continue contributing to Wikipedia, and I will also continue to take responsibilities for my actions. Thanks! Waiting for a feedback. :-) Victor Ningthemcha (talk) 13:06, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
I have been on Wikipedia for more than a decade, and I truly feel that it is one of my great passions in life. I have more than 30,000 edits, and I am credited with more than 300 articles that are not Redirects or Disambiguation pages. (I personally take credit for more than 100 of these, which did not originate as Redirect pages.) Although I continue to propose Draft pages to this day when I am not 100% confident myself about notability, I frequently go straight to the mainspace and have made a number of articles that have been significant in some form or field, with my particular focus being on film industry and electoral politics pages. Recently, I redirected a few thousand Supreme Court of the United States cases to the case volumes in which they were listed. It was a large-scale project for me, but in the end it was decided that redlinks would be better for promoting caseload knowledge, something that I agreed to and I believe will continue to service our Wikipedia community. For this reason, it might appear that I have a large number of deleted pages, but this is almost exclusively due to this particular project; I had an edit deletion rate of less than 2%, and I had not had a page that I created taken down in years, not since I was a far more novice editor. (You can read more about that SCOTUS discussion here.) I believe that being autopatrolled will continue to allow me to contribute to the Wikipedia community, and that is why I am reaching out to ask for permissions. I am happy to answer any questions or improve any articles that I have created if there is anything noticeable that needs help. Although I have long been looking to increase my permissions and role in the community, I quite frankly have always had impostor syndrome stop me from asking, but a bit of encouragement from Liz made me try. Thank you so much! PickleG13 (talk) 20:27, 5 July 2025 (UTC) |
Requests for AutoWikiBrowser access |

AutoWikiBrowser[edit]
Request AWB permissions to assist with several cleanup tasks across my WikiProjects of interests such as Women in Red, India, Computational Biology, and others. Types of cleanups often include fixing typos, especially for WP:INDIA where {{tl:Use Indian english}} is often used but content may not reflect that, or vice-versa. Other general cleanups that I do include fixing line or paragraph breaks, infobox lists, or basic copyediting. I believe I used to have AWB access years ago, but it expired due to inactivity. I intend to use the JS interface of AWS. Thanks!— WeWake (talk) 06:37, 3 July 2025 (UTC)

File mover[edit]
I'm requesting the file mover rights as I usually help out here. The backlogs here can take a lot of time. It would be helpful if I'm able to move the files myself. I don't have a lot of uploads (I only have 5-6). I'm familiar with most of the policies of files OPHYRIUS ⚔ 05:34, 6 July 2025 (UTC) |
Requests for new page reviewer |

New page reviewer[edit]
I was granted reviewer rights for two times, both were temporary. I'm here requesting the right again to review the articles and make the burden less for others too. I was not active like before due to some personal issues, but I'm going to be active now. Please consider extending my rights. Thankyou Taabii (talk) 17:23, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
Hello there, this is my third time requesting new page reviewer permissions, as the previous two requests were granted on a one-month trial basis and the current trial will end on the 30th of June. I have learnt a lot about the policies for notability and inclusion and will be able to reduce the size of the unreviewed pages backlog significantly. JustARandomEditor123 (talk) 06:07, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
My current NPR rights are due to expire on 1 July 2025. While I may not be reviewing in large volumes, I focus on thorough, policy-aligned reviews that aim to improve or appropriately tag each page. I’d like to keep my NPR rights for continued constructive contributions. Thank You. Ambrosiawater (talk) 07:55, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
I'm interested in doing NPP reviews. I think I've gone over the rules for creating new pages and and using references pretty thoroughly. ColinSchm (talk) 12:07, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
Hi! I want to help out with NPP as there is been a longstanding backlog. I requested this right last year, but was told participate more in AfD discussions. Since, I have participated and as well as nominated for deletions. I think I'm ready now, thanks! Vestrian24Bio 02:57, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
I saw there was a large backlog and reviewing articles is a nice change of pace. I have review experience from the required review when submitting DYK articles. Mgrē@sŏn (Talk) 15:54, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
Hi! I'm currently an AfC reviewer and would like to request NPP rights. I've been interested in patrolling new pages for a while, thanks for considering! Jesus isGreat7 ☾⋆ | Ping Me 09:16, 6 July 2025 (UTC)

Page mover[edit]
Hi! I have initiated a couple of RMs myself, and participated in many as well. I also make requests at WP:RMT. I also revert undiscussed page moves while patrolling changes. Now, I want to contribute more by closing RMs and helping at WP:RMT and this right would also be useful while reverting undiscussed page moves as well. I have made 170+ RM-related edits and 30+ edits to RMT page. Thanks for considering... Vestrian24Bio 02:40, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
I would like to request the Page Mover user right to assist in handling page moves that involve redirect suppression, especially in cases where I am working on article namespace organization, cleanup, or disambiguation work. I have been an active editor on Wikipedia and understand the importance of proper page titling and redirect management. I am familiar with Wikipedia's naming conventions, the page move process, and the appropriate use of this permission. I intend to use the Page Mover right to reduce the backlog of move requests and to help in cases where administrative assistance would otherwise be needed just to suppress a redirect. Pending changes reviewer[edit]
I found a reviewable edit that was not good and had already been reverted the first time it was placed. I reverted the new version of it, since the edit was not following the Wikipedia guidelines. I think that I should have Reviewing pending changes rights, since I have experience with reverting vandalism and disruptive edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Floating Orb (talk • contribs) 19:37, 1 July 2025 (UTC)

Requests for rollback |

Rollback[edit]
Hi I am requesting rights to use the rollback feature as finding vandalism has actually been a very cool thing for me. I am requesting to be able so I don't have to undo multiple edits by spam-vandals, as I feel like it makes me kind of a spammer when I do this, and doing it all at once would be a great thing. I will admit that I had absolutely no idea that anyone could post warnings on talk pages, I thought that only admins and other experienced members who are given rights could do so. I just want to feel like less of a spammer when reverted edits, so I am requesting this rollback feature. Thanks, MakaylaHippo1998 MakaylaHippo1998 (talk) 05:55, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
Hello. do i have any chance to be given rollback rights to fight vandalism better? If possible. Criticize (talk) 16:04, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
Vandalism is a very rampant issue on this wiki, and most of the vandalism are made on biography pages, and I want to revert these vandalized edits. Shaneapickle (talk) 17:17, 5 July 2025 (UTC) |
