User has been incorrectly or insufficiently warned. Re-report if the user resumes vandalising after being warned sufficiently. asilvering (talk) 22:43, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
- 79.83.33.246 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) While politely discussing in a discussion page with another user, another user appeared, stating "Typical diparma, she presumptuously discusses primary sources (=original research) without giving proper references (=bad original research) so we have to believe her and take her word for it (though she has been proved guilty of misquoting sources) or ask her endlessly for precise citations (who wrote this, in which book, at which page etc etc)". I take this as an insult, judging my way of operating in an incorrect way, and judging my person is even more incorrect. It is not the first time an anonymous user insulted me. As far as you (in general) insult my edits, I can deal with it, I stand it, I can surpass, but not when you insult me. - MariaAmaliaduchessadiParma (talk) 21:30, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
Warned user. asilvering (talk) 22:40, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
- Since when warning a user against doing original research is considered as vandalism? 79.83.33.246 (talk) 22:59, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
- User has already been warned by several people about problems in her way of contributing and disregard of verifiability [1], but continues to ignore basic principles. 79.83.33.246 (talk) 23:14, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
- IP, is that how you would characterize what you said in that comment? Just a simple warning? Nothing else? -- asilvering (talk) 23:14, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
- My comment didn't seem very civil, sure. Calling it an insult is mere exaggeration. How you would characterize reporting me as a vandal, then? 79.83.33.246 (talk) 23:21, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think it's an exaggeration to call it an insult; if you'd said it after being warned I would have blocked. Furthermore, it is perfectly acceptable to report personal attacks to this board. Please urgently change your approach. Wikipedia editing requires collaboration and civility. -- asilvering (talk) 23:27, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
- Then, how do you tell someone to stop doing original research and to carefully source their assertions (when one has already been told several gimes by several users) in a "civil" way? I could then edit my "insulting" message while keeping the intended goal. 79.83.33.246 (talk) 23:36, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
- WP:NOTCONDUCT. -- asilvering (talk) 23:47, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
- Easy said. In the end it means that one is entitled to ignore verifiability and WP:NOR because criticizing them for doing so would be too person-oriented and therefore 'insulting'. But this rule applies only when convenient. 79.83.33.246 (talk) 01:23, 4 August 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
[edit]Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: Semi-protected indefinitely over a year. Can they be downed to WP:PCPP? Also, one of the users who protected the pages does not seem to be an administrator anymore. Meanwhile, the other appears to have been notified about the matter about a month ago but no response had been taken.154.107.12.95 (talk) 00:45, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
- Just because someone isn't an admin anymore doesn't mean they can't have an opionion. @Materialscientist: @MelanieN: What do you think? In many cases I see PCP as increasing the burden on regular editors to review and decline edits that normally would not appear with a normal protection level. ~Anachronist (talk) 08:01, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
Unprotection: As with crocodile, we can try pending changes, since it seemed to work on that page. Thepharoah17 (talk) 22:20, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
Current requests for edits to a protected page
[edit]Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
In the section about UK support, I understand the photo of Keir Starmer within the image, on the poster, has recently been blurred for copyright reasons, but I think this is quite distracting without context or any explanation. Could someone who has editing privileges there either update the image to one where blurring is unnecessary, or simply add to the end of caption something like "(the image of Keir Starmer on the poster has been blurred as it is copyrighted separately)" 2600:1700:A5E0:11F0:303A:1732:84A3:83EB (talk) 03:20, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
- The latter would be redundant with the image description page, where the revision history explicitly notes the blurring. Assuming another image from that protest exists which includes a sign calling him out, replacement would require that image being uploaded under a compatible licence (per WP:NFCC). —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 15:43, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
I think that the supposed co-founder 'Andrew McCollum' should be removed. The initial Business Insider article used to cite the founders of Facebook makes not reference to him, and references to him as the co-founder of Facebook in the media only seem to have happened once he was edited into the article. His own article is also sloppily written which might indicate a very elaborate form of vandalism? The claim in one of the pictures that he was the designer of the original Facebook logo also seems to inaccurate, with the logo being attributed to 'Mike Buzzard' and 'Joe Kral' in other articles. Autopatrolled[edit]
Requested this permission ~2 months ago, denied because I was mostly creating auto-notable stubs. I think I have expanded the types of articles I create, including well-sourced local pages or biographical entries where I take time to source subjects that do not inherently meet a generic notability criteria. (I still do create auto-notable pages sometimes, but those no longer make up the majority of pages I create.) As a new page reviewer, I got good experience with the notability guidelines reviewing articles during the backlog drive WP:MAY25, and also participating in AfD. Thought about requesting again as I have run into a few of my own pages while reviewing pages that are in topics I contribute to/am interested in. Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 02:15, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
I have been on Wikipedia for more than a decade, and I truly feel that it is one of my great passions in life. I have more than 30,000 edits, and I am credited with more than 300 articles that are not Redirects or Disambiguation pages. (I personally take credit for more than 100 of these, which did not originate as Redirect pages.) Although I continue to propose Draft pages to this day when I am not 100% confident myself about notability, I frequently go straight to the mainspace and have made a number of articles that have been significant in some form or field, with my particular focus being on film industry and electoral politics pages. Recently, I redirected a few thousand Supreme Court of the United States cases to the case volumes in which they were listed. It was a large-scale project for me, but in the end it was decided that redlinks would be better for promoting caseload knowledge, something that I agreed to and I believe will continue to service our Wikipedia community. For this reason, it might appear that I have a large number of deleted pages, but this is almost exclusively due to this particular project; I had an edit deletion rate of less than 2%, and I had not had a page that I created taken down in years, not since I was a far more novice editor. (You can read more about that SCOTUS discussion here.) I believe that being autopatrolled will continue to allow me to contribute to the Wikipedia community, and that is why I am reaching out to ask for permissions. I am happy to answer any questions or improve any articles that I have created if there is anything noticeable that needs help. Although I have long been looking to increase my permissions and role in the community, I quite frankly have always had impostor syndrome stop me from asking, but a bit of encouragement from Liz made me try. Thank you so much! PickleG13 (talk) 20:27, 5 July 2025 (UTC)

I have created over 25 new articles that meet notability guidelines and follow Wikipedia standards and guideliness. I am familiar with Wikipedia’s core content policies (NPOV, V, NOR) and believe that being autopatrolled will reduce the workload on new page patrollers, my ittention for contributing to Wikipedia, i have mention to my talk page, also to be noted i am reviewer and patroller at Albanian wiki with all articles, neither deleted, and noone of edits are reverted. Thank you in advance. Lanceloth345 (talk) 12:43, 16 July 2025 (UTC)

Demonstrates understanding of the notability guidelines on a variety of subjects. The articles are fairly well-written and -formatted; a few are also now GAs. I marked a couple of her newer creations as reviewed and found no major issues. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 21:31, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
I have created more than 25 non redirect articles within the past few weeks and 53 non redirects overall. The two mainspace ones that have been deleted were by my own request, thanks to a slip of the "Publish changes" button. Aside from those, all have been approved by the adminteam. I would greatly be thankful to receive this permission. Luxtaythe2nd (Talk to me...) 17:56, 26 July 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I would like to request the autopatrolled user right. I have created around 30 well-sourced, policy-compliant articles on the English Wikipedia. In addition to my contributions here, I am an administrator (sysop) on the Persian Wikipedia (fa.wikipedia), where I have been active for many years, focusing on content creation, vandalism control, and community support. Granting this right would help reduce the workload of new page patrollers, as my article creations usually meet Wikipedia’s quality standards. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Best regards, Shahnamk (talk) 19:08, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
Hello, I would like to request the autopatrolled user right. I’ve created several articles, many of which are currently live and meet Wikipedia’s guidelines on notability and reliable sourcing. I’m familiar with the key content policies such as WP:N, WP:V, WP:RS, and WP:NPOV, and consistently apply them when creating or editing articles. I understand that this permission is intended to reduce the workload of new page reviewers by marking trusted users’ pages as reviewed automatically, and I believe my contributions demonstrate the consistency and policy alignment expected for this role. I have not received any blocks or serious warnings, and I’m committed to continuing constructive, policy-compliant editing. Thank you for your time and consideration. As a part of Wikipedia: Tambayan Philippines and the Music Task Force, I would like to request the autopatrolled user right. I have created over 25 articles, most of which are currently live and have been built with careful attention to WP:N, WP:V, and reliable sourcing. And also I understand that the autopatrolled right is meant to ease the workload of new page reviewrs by automatically marking new pages from trusted users as reviewed. Thank you! Had my first AP request declined due to my poor judgement with notability of railway stations. I've learned from that mistake (and cleaned up after myself), and I've created articles like Expo 2025 pavilions (Although this was a collaboration with Epicgenius) and Magical Girl Witch Trials since my request was declined. I have been an active contributor to Wikipedia for over two years, and I truly feel that it is one of my greatest passions in life. I have made more than 4,000 edits and am credited with creating over 100 articles, excluding redirects and disambiguation pages. Additionally, I have expanded and improved numerous stub articles, enhancing their content and quality. I have also translated several articles into local languages, making Wikipedia more accessible to a broader audience. New page reviewer[edit]
I am requesting for this permission to help address the backlog of unreviewed pages and to ensure the quality of new content submitted uses encyclopedic language and that the content is accurate and neutral. I have participated in hundreds of AfDs and during that time I have developed a solid understanding of WP:GNG, RS requirements (WP:SIGCOV), and other relevant policies for reviewing pages. Gjb0zWxOb (talk) 21:23, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
I've been spending quite a bit of time recently at Special:NewPagesFeed sometimes making small improvements where I think it could be useful. I've noticed the enoromous backlog there, so what I'm currently doing in any case, could also help with the backlog if I have the new page reviewer role. There's a discussion near the end of my talk page about me possibly doing this. I'm still a bit cautious about it but willing to give it a go. Northernhenge (talk) 21:15, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
As an experienced Wikipedia editor with over 4,000 edits and more than 2 years of active participation, I've developed a strong foundation in the platform's policies and guidelines. I'm now seeking permission to take on a more significant role in maintaining the quality of Wikipedia's content. To achieve this, I aim to utilize my understanding of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, particularly WP:GNG (General Notability Guideline) and WP:SIGCOV (Significant Coverage), which I've developed through my participation in Articles for Deletion (AfD) discussions. My goal is to review pages and ensure that the content is written in an encyclopedic tone, accurate, neutral, and supported by reliable sources. By granting me permission, I believe I can make a meaningful contribution to maintaining the integrity and quality of Wikipedia's content. Royalesignature (talk). 03:41, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
Hi again, My NPP flag lapsed last month, and I'd like to request an extension. During the trial I patrolled dozens of new pages, tagging some for CSD and sending others to AfD when sourcing or notability was thin. My CSD and AfD logs should show I understand the relevant policies. I haven't edited as much since the flag dropped, but I'm keen to dive back in and help clear the queue. A renewal would let me start right away. Junbeesh (talk) 09:33, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
My trial NPP right expires on August 8, and I would like for it to be extended or made permanent. Thanks. Opm581 (talk | he/him) 00:45, 3 August 2025 (UTC)

Requests for page mover |

Page mover[edit]
Mainly requesting so I can bold move pages to multi-revision redirects, but I may cautiously move into closing RMs one day. I think I have decent experience from participating at WP:RMC and understand the guidelines reasonably well. Thanks, Kowal2701 (talk) 10:58, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
Hi, I recently began helping in clearing out requested moves at RMC. Usually, most of the requests would require me request at the technical request section as page already exist at moves desired location. With this right, I would be able to avoid this and move the pages directly. I have read the page mover page as well. Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 09:13, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
I attempt whenever possible to correct article titles to sentence case when necessary, but am frequently unable to do so because of the existence of a single-edit redirect. I've been advised at "Requested moves" just to ask for the pagemover right already after 75,000 edits in nearly 11 years. A perfect current example: Sweet and Sour Pork, which I can't move to Sweet and sour pork without requesting the move and making someone else do my work for me. Thanks for your consideration! Pending changes reviewer[edit]
I am a (relatively) long time contributor to Wikipedia, primarily active in content creation. However, following a recent and rather vexing experience involving a user introducing potentially harmful changes to articles en masse without any sort of satisfactory communication with other editors, I have decided I want to become active in dealing with vandalism as well. ✠ Saltymagnolia ✠ 15:36, 31 July 2025 (UTC)

Requests for rollback |

Rollback[edit]
Hello, I'd like to get rollback rights to fight vandalism more effectively. While I don't patrol recent pages often, I do patrol new pages and short pages, where I frequently undo obvious vandalism (as seen in [4]). I'd like rollback to more easily undo edits, as well as access huggle and other tools. Yelps ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ critique me 08:24, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
Hello, I want to receive a rollback right because there are a lot of editors who add informations but not citing sources. Usually, they do not add unsourced informations at once, but they add them by multiple times. There are also edits violating MoS or Wikipedia policies. And I have struggled with reverting all of them one by one, so I decided to request a right for rollback. Thank you. Camilasdandelions (talk!) 03:56, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
Hello, I am requesting Rollback rights to help stop vandalism. I have made more than 2000 edits on Wikipedia since 2021. I understand how rollback works and will use it only when needed. Thank you Panda 🐼 Arun (Talk) 07:10, 29 July 2025 (UTC)

Template editor[edit]
I would like to make a comparatively minor change to Template:TERYT as requested by Altenmann on the template's talk page. However, even though I created this template, it has had its protection level set. Kiwipete (talk) 04:04, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
Howdy. I'm an active participant over at WP:DYK, and recently ran in WP:AELECT but did not pass the threshold. Discussion centered around lack of experience on WP:AIV, an area I expressed interest in getting involved in. A decent part of my running for adminship was wanting to help with processing WP:DYK queues, which are template-protected. In my election discussion there were no concerns raised about my professionalism, content creation or reviewing competency, which are the primary things needed with processing DYK queues. I do not meet some of the standard template editor guidelines (e.g. sandbox/significant template edits, etc), but I also do not plan on using the role outside of DYK queue processing. Thanks for your consideration. ~Darth StabroTalk • Contribs 16:46, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
