Your submission at Articles for creation: Durrr Burger (April 7)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Robert McClenon was:

Note to AFC Reviewers: This draft is for a title that was previously an article, but was then cut down to a redirect. If this draft is accepted, the history should be preserved. Do not tag the redirect for G6.

If you find that this draft should be accepted, and do not have the Page Mover privilege, please request assistance in moving the redirect to preserve the history.

Reviewers should check the history and verify whether there was a consensus to cut the article down to a redirect, or whether the action was taken boldly without discussion. Hello @Robert McClenon, I hope you are well 🙂 I've read your feedback, but the article really has received a significant amount of new quotes (and even a photo) about the character's real-world impact since the deletion discussion: with multiple new examples of people choosing sides over support of the character, and the character's game mode influencing "the direction of the game as a whole", in addition to all the previously listed items in the article. These were some significant additions which I really do believe pushes the article over the threshold into real world notability, could you please take another look at it if you have the chance? Thank you. Johnson524 04:11, 7 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Durrr Burger (May 13)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Zxcvbnm was:
This draft's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article. In summary, the draft needs multiple published sources that are:
Make sure you add references that meet these criteria before resubmitting. Learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue. If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
It still fails to address why it was deleted, and I'd argue the problem cannot be remedied without more analysis which it simply does not have. The article mentions lots of stuff that is tangentially related to Durr Burger but does not increase the notability of the fictional chain itself. See also WP:AKON. It would probably be better to focus your efforts on something else.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

@Zxcvbnm: Did you see my message on the draft talk page Draft talk:Durrr Burger#Second attempt? What is missing? I've read through WP:GNG and WP:SIGCOV multiple times, and I don't see how this article doesn't meet requirements. This is repeated in greater detail on the above wikilink, but there are a 44 reliable (none even situational) citations per RS/P and VG/S used, with 18 of these including the character in the title, and many more discussing the character not necessarily as the "main topic of the source material", but "more than a trivial mention": per the wording of the SIGCOV policy. I don't believe WP:AKON applies here either, as the information I've added since the article became a draft provide further commentary (IGN India) or recognition (New York magazine), which you said the article was lacking. If the article doesn't meet criteria then it shouldn't be in the main space, but there are a number of analysis' made by reputable sources at this point.
On a more personal note, I'm truly sorry for being a squeaky wheel, and I really do appreciate the time you've put into reviewing and commenting on this draft. Can someone else take a look at the draft, or are you passionate enough to where you do not want to see it submitted again? Have a blessed day, Johnson524 18:24, 13 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Your article already got unequivocally deleted. That means the hurdle to find better sources is absolutely immense, and it would have to be something numerous people somehow missed or ignored. This is absolutely an AKON situation, regardless of how much you claim it's not.
The main problem here is that your "sources" do not talk about Durr Burger, but other stuff that is related to it, but are not actually Durr Burger, like the ARG that was conducted by Fortnite featuring imagery of the fictional chain. That makes the article something like a WP:COATRACK. The vast majority of them only have trivial mentions of the chain.
If you still want to say it's notable, post your WP:THREE best possible sources that were missed by the AfD. Rather than quantity (i.e. claims of "44 sources", we should be talking about quality - which sources are actually significant). ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 21:25, 13 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Zxcvbnm If the sources can discuss nothing but the character, I'd have to say Fortnite Beef Boss Skin: How Do You Get the Durr Burger Outfit in Fortnite? (Dot Esports), Fortnite Beef Boss Skin: How Do You Get the Durr Burger Outfit in Fortnite? (GameRevolution), and Wendy's streams Fortnite just to destroy Durrr Burger over and over again (PCGamesN), which are admittedly pretty lousy on their own. I guess it really was a misunderstanding of policy. I was really in disbelief at the second rejection because there was so much commentary and recognition the character had received overall, but few to no good singular sources. I don't think I understood that until now. Thank you for continuing to comment on this draft, I finally understand where you're coming from, it's just unfortunate all 30,000 bytes I put into writing that article will never be seen. If nothing else I gained a better understanding of policy which I'll definitely not forget moving forward, but I don't think I'll write any more video game articles for a long time. Thank you, and have a blessed day. Johnson524 14:42, 14 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's unfortunate, and while I'd love to see more articles on notable gaming minutia, it is incredibly hard to get one past not only GNG policy but also veteran editors. I've seen some of my own articles with sourcing that I think is a slamdunk get merged anyway. Simply, the standards are way higher than your average page. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 11:27, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable non-free use File:Denys Davydov channel profile.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Denys Davydov channel profile.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 23:43, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited to participate in The World Destubathon. It's currently planned for June 16-July 13, partly due to me having hayfever during that period and not wanting to run it throughout July or August in the hotter summer and will be run then unless multiple editors object. There is currently $3338 going into it, with $500 the top prize. As 250 countries and entities is too much to patrol, entries will be by user, but there is $500 going into prizes for editors covering the most countries. Sign up if interested! ♦ Dr. Blofeld

DYK for Chill Guy

[edit]

On 2 June 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Chill Guy, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a drawing of a dog was promoted by the president of El Salvador, caused an unaffiliated song to peak on the TikTok Billboard Top 50, and got its original creator doxxed? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Chill Guy. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Chill Guy), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Also noticed you posted about going and coming back from boot camp and as a fellow American from NY, wanted to say, thank you for your service! Hope the boot camp went well and great to see you editing again :) Dan the Animator 18:46, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much @Dantheanimator, this has made my day! While I'm very glad I can say I completed NSI, I'm also very grateful I'll never have to do it again lol. While you're here, I wanted to mention that I've loved stalking the Featured List feed these past few months and seeing all the Ukrainian topics you've gotten to the prestigious status! Your contributions are seen and truly appreciated. Thank you for spreading positivity around the encyclopedia, and cheers from North Carolina 🙂 Johnson524 18:59, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I can imagine lol but at least you made it through. And about Featured lists, thanks thanks! :) My past few FLs have definitely been some of the tougher ones so the thanks are very appreciated. Although I have a few too many projects I've been working on, feel free to let me know if you'd like to see something else promoted eventually too. Thank you for your contributions and work and positivity too and cheers from New York ;) Dan the Animator 19:16, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the thanks.

Thank you kindly for your two thank you notifications, for my two small edits, in mid-July, to Template:Russian invasion of Ukraine. You are one of the friendlier editors, no doubt! I will leave a small reciprocal gift for you on your main User page. Best wishes. --Jerryobject (talk) 13:58, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @Jerryobject! I really appreciate your kind words and for your contributions improving the highly-viewed template 🙂 Oh, and I never even knew a 'this user plays Tetris' userbox existed, that's a really neat find! Believe it or not though, I've probably only played three or four games of Tetris in my life lol. The main reason I love contributing to it on the encyclopedia is because, for a fun-to-watch game with such a large fanbase, there appeared to be zero active editors! That inspired me to learn about the game and start contributing: and I'm glad I did, because the five articles I've created on major modern Tetris players have become some of most viewed of the eighty articles I've created total. Your contributions are seen and truly appreciated, cheers from North Carolina! Johnson524 00:20, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
To be brutally honest, I am a Tetrisholic. However, I am recovering: deeply ashamed and traumatized, but still alive. I have been clean for over a decade, so I also do not, indeed dare not, play that so-called "game" (Yeah, right! Game! Sure!) any more.
Slightly more seriously, you did not post the Tetris userbox I left on your user page, because you play it so little, right? That causality is intimated above, but not stated explicitly. Good luck. --Jerryobject (talk) 14:18, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Jerryobject: That's one of the best comments I've ever read on this encyclopedia. Yeah, at least for now I don't think I'm worthy enough to display the 'this user plays userbox', but I've seen what the "game" has done to friends of mine... and if one day you see it added to my userpage... I've become terribly addicted and need help. Johnson524 15:39, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Aviation article issues

[edit]

Hi @Johnson524! Fellow new page reviewer here! Just wanted to let you know that 2025 Ekalaka helicopter crash has some issues relating to sourcing. I don't think it was ready to be marked as reviewed yet. Some of the sources (for me at least), return 404s and there are also some questionable sources that have been used as well. Not a big deal, just an observation I made that I felt it best to let you know about. Thanks! 11WB (talk) 03:43, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I'm reaching out in regards to an article you marked as reviewed recently, 2025 Ekalaka helicopter crash. Looking at the version which was reviewed, all nine sources used are now leading to 404 errors or similar redirects, leading me to believe they are LLM-generated/hallucinated. Please be careful when reviewing, as this should have likely been flagged as a G15 CSD. See WP:AITELLS for other things to watch for. – {{u|hekatlys}} 03:47, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@11wallisb, @Hekatlys: I don't think I've ever run into hallucinated sources before so this was a new issue for me, but I completely agree! Thank you for making me aware of this. Cheers! Johnson524 17:59, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Johnson524, hope all is well! Two weeks ago I created the page Huliaipole offensive, but it has not been reviewed yet. In the meantime, fighting has reached the outskirts of the city.
