Re-nomination of Daredevil

[edit]

Hi Ganesha811,

As we discussed a couple months ago, I have acquired new sources for Daredevil (Marvel Comics character). I have deleted nearly all the references to the two sources that fell short of RS criteria. I have kept only a single footnote to Hanefalk's book, because she identified an important earlier example of a blind superhero, and I have added a further Reliable Source in order to substantiate this one claim. I have provided new references for all the info in the article, from academic articles or journalistic media.

I have re-nominated the page for Good Article status. Please take a look at the article and see if you agree that it is ready now. If necessary, I can make other modifications in order to get it up to GA standards.

Kind regards, Wrangler1981 (talk) 19:42, 14 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Thanks for your hard work on this article. I’m happy to review it again, but will be traveling soon for some time. I estimate I’d be able to pick it up in mid-September, if that works for you. Of course, if someone else picks it up before then, no foul. Please ping to remind me around Sept 15th if a review hasn’t been opened by then. —Ganesha811 (talk) 03:11, 15 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Thank you. Wrangler1981 (talk) 12:02, 15 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Bravo786 (06:18, 17 August 2025)

[edit]

Hello Ganesha811, I’m dealing with a BLP issue on the Asim Munir article. Another editor is trying to add poorly sourced negative content about his relative (using YouTube and a single minor source). I raised the concern on the talk page, but got no reply. I have now taken it to WP:BLPN for wider input.

Could you please review and guide me if I’ve handled this correctly? --Bravo786 (talk) 06:18, 17 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like it's been handled fine so far. Looks to me like if a reliable source covered this incident in the context of Asim Munir, it could be re-added, but the sourcing used was inadequate. —Ganesha811 (talk) 14:41, 19 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed — the wording and cleanup look fine. If a high-quality, reliable source covers this incident specifically in relation to Asim Munir, then it could certainly be re-added. The previous sourcing didn’t meet the threshold, so leaving it out for now seems appropriate Bravo786 (talk) 05:30, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Plummip (19:43, 26 August 2025)

[edit]

Hi,

I have made some edits to bring more nuance to a topic (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Far-right_politics_in_the_United_Kingdom#) I noticed that all of the edits I did are not welcomed.

The article, It's accurate but, to me, framed in a way that highlights threat and extremism, reflecting a certain perspective, if not ideological driven. I conclude this based on the focus of the extreme points and language used. There's a noticeable focus on the more extreme elements of far-right politics, such as violence and terrorism.

I will give some examples of things that i found:

The paragraph starts as a historical overview of far-right activity but quickly shifts to the government’s threat assessments. - Is it about far-right politics, or government perception? - this is blended in subtly for some reason. Does not fit.

"The threat by the extreme right has moved from being a political movement to being a greater threat to national security" can read as if the government’s judgment is presented as an objective fact about the far right, rather than as an assessment.

Obviously I prefer these things to change. My question is.

- is it relevant what the current governmemts assement is about the far-right? Does wiki has any specific ruling to this? (E.g. The placement of the assessment and the wording used; as i stated earlier) - is it allowed to bring nuance without actually adding "new" stuff as to how i did? - are there any things that i must know and maybe give me some checkpoints to check after a change. - what are credible sources and when is this needed? - can i discuss before posting to avoid many changes, what process best to follow?

Sorry if my English isnt all that great my native language is Dutch. Most importantly, thank you for your time and dont be afraid to be hard on me or giving to much info. --Plummip (talk) 19:43, 26 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I recommend discussing it with other editors on the article's talk page to try to come to consensus. That's how Wikipedia generally operates. Start a discussion and see what others have to say!
