[edit]Hello, @Locust member. Was coming to ask if you know who “J. Fountain” is on the writers track listing section of Megan (album), i’ve spent a while trying to figure out who it is but couldn’t. Do you? Thank you, Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 11:40, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hey @Cowboygilbert! From what I found, J. Fountain is the artist Jay Da 3rd, who's real name is Joe Fountain. I found this from Kstylis' "Booty Hopscotch", which is sampled in Megan Thee Stallion's "Where Them Girls At", in which Kstylis (Kordero Williams) and Jay Da 3rd (Jay Fountain) are credited as songwriters. I didn't realize that I missed this person when editing the page, sorry. Locust member (talk) 15:02, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
- Oh, your fine. Thank you for finding this, I didn’t see any samples in on WhoSampled when I checked it. Thank you, Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 16:39, 2 July 2024 (UTC)

- Hey, I have a question regarding the article. I had a couple of twitter friends give me some photos from his I Care So Much tour that I’d like to use in the article. A. do you know how to credit them so the copyright knows they “donated” these photos to wikimedia and B. would it impede the article’s chances on achieving GA? Thanks! Locust member (talk) 21:25, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
- from what i know/understand: 1. They would have to upload the images themselves to wikimedia commons and, in turn, agree to upload them under a creative commons license. 2. i wouldn't think so unless the images uploaded aren't theirs? for further information you should refer (you/them?) to: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:First_steps/Uploading_files, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Volunteer_Response_Team, and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:A_picture_of_you#Ways_to_submit_photos

Edit summary
[edit]This is an incorrect edit summary. DuncanHill (talk) 22:28, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what else I could do then. I changed the year on the source and it links to a full source. What else is needed to be done? Locust member (talk) 22:30, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- You shouldn't have made that edit summary. I correctly marked it as needing a full citation. You incorrectly said there was one. Instead of acknowledging your mistake, you chose to falsely claim that I had made one. DuncanHill (talk) 22:38, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I thought you were saying that there was no source for that to go to. I didn't realize I made a mistake with the year on that particular source, I wasn't trying to be malicious, I was just confused by what you meant. I acknowledged my mistake afterward and changed the year. Sorry about that Locust member (talk) 22:41, 16 December 2024 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted
[edit]
Hi Locust member, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! —Femke 🐦 (talk) 18:59, 10 March 2025 (UTC)

You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Fishmonger (album)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. more chaos advice
[edit]yoyo. More Chaos is basically done, two things before i GA nom id like yr comment on:
- Should I specify the length between versions since CD/LP versions are 49 mins yet digital copies (which most reviews are based on) are 58/61 mins?
- Should I remove pierre from the production infobox in light of above info or specify like "digital versions feature pierre" or smth
that is literally it. all is done // Chchcheckit (talk) 13:36, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- yooo, nice quick work on it!
- per Template:Infobox album, "only the length of the original album release should be entered" and typically only information from the standard edition of the album is entered in the infobox (so pierre would be removed in this case). but, is there a source that states the standard version of the album is the CD/LP versions instead of the digital and songs like 2000, evolution, and ghoul are not a part of the main album? afaik the album was originally released digitally so wouldn't that be the primary issue? Locust member (talk) 14:03, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- ok nvm I just read the Billboard source that states "More Chaos was available in its first week as a standard 18-song album (on color vinyl and a widely available CD and in three deluxe boxed sets containing a T-shirt and CD) and in two widely available expanded digital/streaming editions that added three and four songs, respectively."
- uhh so ya only enter the standard edition (LP/CD) times and remove pierre from infobox. both are still covered in track listing so we're good Locust member (talk) 14:12, 26 April 2025 (UTC)

WikiCup 2025 May newsletter
[edit]The second round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 28 April at 23:59 UTC. To reiterate what we said in the previous newsletter, we are no longer disqualifying contestants based on how many points (now known as round points) they received. Instead, the contestants with the highest round-point totals now receive tournament points at the end of each round. These tournament points are carried over between rounds, and can only be earned if a competitor is among the top 16 round-point scorers at the end of each round. This table shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far. Everyone who competed in round 2 will advance to round 3 unless they have withdrawn or been banned.
Round 2 was quite competitive. Four contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and eight scored more than 500 points (including one who has withdrawn). The following competitors scored at least 800 points:
BeanieFan11 (submissions) with 1,233 round points from 24 good articles, 28 Did you know articles, and one In the news nomination, mainly about athletes and politicians
Thebiguglyalien (submissions) with 1,127 round points, almost entirely from two high-multiplier featured articles on Black Widow (Natasha Romanova) and Grace Coolidge, in addition to two GAs and two reviews
History6042 (submissions) with 1,088 round points from four featured lists about Michelin-starred restaurants, nine good articles and a good topic mostly on Olympic-related subjects, seven ITN articles, and dozens of reviews
Gog the Mild (submissions) with 1,085 round points from three FAs, one GA, and four DYKs on military history, as well as 18 reviews
Arconning (submissions) with 887 round points, mostly from four FLs, six GAs, and seven DYKs on Olympic topics, along with more than two dozen reviews
In addition, we would like to recognize Generalissima (submissions) for her efforts; she scored 801 round points but withdrew before the end of the round.
The full scores for round 2 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 13 featured articles, 20 featured lists, 4 featured-topic articles, 138 good articles, 7 good-topic articles, and more than 100 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 19 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 300 reviews.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed in Round 3. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! Graphics and templates in FAC nomination pages
[edit]Hello. Apologies for the random message, but I wanted to leave a comment about your current FAC for "Contingency Song". Per the FAC instructions, it is discouraged to use use graphics or complex templates on FAC nomination pages as they slow down the page load time and can lead to potential errors in the FAC archives. For templates, I am referencing the ones like "Done" and "Added. I would kindly ask you to remove that from your current FAC. Apologies again for the random message. I just wanted to raise this to your attention, as it is easy to miss. Aoba47 (talk) 01:55, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm so sorry! This is my first FAC so I was unaware of this rule (although I do see it on the FAC page now). I just removed them, sorry again for the error! Locust member (talk) 02:19, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
- No need to apologize. Thank you for addressing this. Best of luck with your FAC! It is an easy thing to miss, as there is a lot to take in for first-time FAC nominators. It is not really a big deal, as it does not cause any real harm or anything. On a side note, I am always happy to see more songs in the FAC space, and I think that this song would bring some welcome diversity to the current pool of song FAs, as this song's genre is not really represented there. Aoba47 (talk) 02:56, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you so much!! I agree, I would be really happy to get a song such as this one to FA, as there are not many songs of its nature at the status (like you said). Thank u again!! Locust member (talk) 03:51, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

Keep It Goin Xav
[edit]I've edited a lot of album pages and none have ever had the music section just copy pasting every single thing a writer has ever said about a track verbatim. That doesn't seem to be policy on Wikipedia album pages. I removed the redundant phrases. There were way too many quotes which also isn't normal practice on Wikipedia. I changed stuff to say "this track was compared to this" rather than a bunch of quotes from the same Pitchfork writer. The article almost felt like it was copy pasting most of the pitchfork review. Aradicus77 (talk) 17:56, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- Also it wasn't well sourced. Look at the sources a lot of parts were just not even part of the source. Like when it says characterized by smooth vocals, go to the source, the source makes no mention of that. Aradicus77 (talk) 17:59, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- "From wavy and hypnotic production to silky flows, Xaviersobased keeps you wanting more." is stated in the source; the way in which it was written, it changed the wording so it did not violate copyright. Locust member (talk) 18:00, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah but that has nothing to do with "smooth vocals". Anyway you can add what you think needs to be added, but reverting all my contributions when I went through each source to keep what was relevant and remove what wasn't stated makes no sense to me. Aradicus77 (talk) 18:01, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- "Silky flows" = "smooth vocals". If something is silky, it is more often than not smooth. And how are flows presented? By vocals. I am going to go through the article and add back what I think is necessary because you did remove some pretty important details about certain songs. Locust member (talk) 18:03, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

- If there were too many quotes, it would have failed the copyvio criteria in the good article review. Compared to other articles, this article did not have an abundance of quotes. Also, did you fully look through the sources in the section? There were definitely other refs than the p4k article. That article just happened to be the most in depth one about the mixtape. I'm going to redo the article and see if it fits your liking, as a composition section is needed.
- I recommend you look at which album articles are in good article criteria, and you will see that most have track-by-track coverage of the albums at topic. Locust member (talk) 18:04, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- I don't know how that got approved. The formatting was strange, it was this big paragraph for the lead and also the song analysis too. It wasn't clear. All I did was trim which is normal on wikipedia for when stuff is too cluttered. Most of that section was relying on mainly the p4k article and then a bunch of small 3-4 sentence reviews from sites like Fader. Aradicus77 (talk) 18:07, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- I mean, you "trimmed" (removed) a whole section that is a standard in album articles. Sure, did it include a lot of comparisons from journalists? Yes it did, but as a Wiki editor, you have to understand that WE report what the sources report. So since Pierre and other journalists made a lot of comparisons of the tracks on this mixtape to other songs, then we have to report that as well. I would, again like to direct you to the large list of album good articles and look at how those are formatted / written. The fact that you have "edited a lot of album pages" does not really mean anything, as anyone can edit on Wikipedia. If you had multiple GAs/FAs under your belt, I would understand that, but I really do not think that you have understood what exactly a traditional album page looks like (as stripping something as important as a Composition section really shows that).
- I don't know how you thought the article was cluttered, as it is shorter than the majority of album articles, due to its limited sourcing. I reported what the sources gave me, and that's that. There was no OR or anything of that nature in the article. And if you can't understand how this article passed for GA, you could perhaps look at the review on the article's talk page; also, when taking a look at earwig, this article is in the green. If this were in the yellow or red, I would understand what you mean by "I don't know how that got approved."
- For the article itself, I really am struggling to find the issues with it. Each comparison in the Composition section makes more sense for them to be there rather than Critical reception. A comparison isn't necessarily an opinion most of the time; especially since the comparisons are track-by-track and do not cover the mixtape as a whole. Something such as "Darville said Nettspend's appearance on the track sounds like the American rapper and singer Lil Tracy" 100% makes more sense to be in Composition as, by nature, Darville is describing what Nettspend sounds like, rather than giving his thoughts and opinions on Nettspend's performance (whether he liked it or not, etc.) To me, the lead is clear and consise, and follows WP:LEAD, as it summarizes each section in a short amount of words. Also, if a reader were to wonder what this mixtape sounds like, they would most definitely go to the Composition section. They might see that some tracks were compared to Gucci Mane, while others were compared to Lil Tracy and French Montana. Now, of course, all readers will not be familiar with these names, but if they are, they will most definitely get a greater understanding of what this mixtape sounds like. That is the whole purpose of the section, and stripping the article of that is stripping readers from knowing what this mixtape sounds like without actually hearing it.
- Also, you did more than trim the article, by adding "On January 27, 2024 Xavier released a music video for "Special," which was followed with a video for "Need Me," on November 30, 2024", which is not sourced at all, contradicting your earlier statement of saying the article "wasn't well sourced". On top of that, the sentence does not comply with Wikipedia's standards as, per MOS:YEAR, a comma would be needed after "2024" and per WP:INOROUT the comma would be outside of the quotations. Plus, how does "the latter track ends with an audio clip of him in conversation with the mixtape's host, DJ Rennesy during an interview, similar clips are placed throughout the album" relate to the Background section at all?
- Regardless, I apologize for going on a rant about good faith changes but I really am struggling to find what was wrong with the article in the first place. In all honesty, your contributions seem to not help the article and rather diminish its quality. I've reverted them again simply because I do not understand how they make the article better. Locust member (talk) 18:33, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- That page isn't my priority, not gonna edit war u on it but just letting u know why i made those changes Aradicus77 (talk) 18:08, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
