SERG Restaurant Group is an American company that owns and operates restaurants in the Hilton Head Island and Bluffton areas of South Carolina.
History
[edit]SERG Restaurant Group was founded in 1984, after Steve Carb and Tony Acuri agreed to open a pizzeria on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. They opened Giuseppi's Pizza & Pasta House with the help of their partner, Rick Meccariello. After SERG was founded, they recruited their friend Jim Loniero as a partner for the group.[1]
The company's president and partner, Alan Wolf, started working with SERG in 2002, as a barback.[1]
Carb died in his home on October 8, 2022, of cancer.[2] Acuri said he "never had a better friend in [his] life than Steve". He also commented that Carb always wanted to make the restaurants better for himself and the employees. Jordan described him as a "Dynamic entrepreneur. Businessman. Friend" and called him the "spearhead" of the group.[3]
