Request for review: Draft:Dhumorna

[edit]

Dear User:RangersRus,

Dear well-wisher

I have written an article in the name of the Draft:Julkar_Nine he is an Bangladeshi author/novelist to create his page, but without yours help and reviewing it is not possible to convert it into an article by draft it, so I request you to help by reviewing the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Azarelvis (talkcontribs) 19:18, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Things that you need to improve are sources. All sources on the draft have no significant coverage about the subject and no significant coverage on the books written by the subject and no coverage if any of the books were reviewed. You need to work to fix all this criteria. Please also find any award or achievements of the subject. RangersRus (talk) 19:47, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you are doing well. I’m reaching out to respectfully request your feedback on Draft:Dhumorna, an article concerning Dhumorna — mentioned in the Mahabharata and other Hindu scriptures as the consort of Yama. The draft includes references to scriptural and iconographic sources in support of notability.

Your input on sourcing, structure, or overall notability would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and guidance.

Best regards, Cognifex 18:49, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request for review: Draft:Arun Ajikumar

[edit]

Hello User:RangersRus,

Thank you for reviewing this draft. I have revised the article to better align with Wikipedia’s notability guidelines, particularly WP:NACTOR. The updated version includes verified film credits where Arun Ajikumar has played notable supporting and ensemble roles, such as in Pookkaalam, Little Hearts, Padakkalam, Anweshippin Kandethum, Modern Love Chennai, Lovely, and Madhuram. His film debut was with School Bus (2016), though he began acting earlier in a 2011 short film directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, based on the life of actor Mammootty.

I have also included citations from reliable, independent sources wherever possible, and expanded the filmography to more clearly reflect his growing contributions to Malayalam cinema.

In addition to acting, Arun is also a well-known publicity designer, having worked on promotional materials for numerous major Malayalam films, which further supports his visibility and recognition in the industry.

If appropriate, I’d be happy to add a photo as well. Please let me know if any further improvements are required to help meet article standards.

Warm regards,User:Infinityeditor — Preceding undated comment added 17:53, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I do not see improvement that shows if the roles played by the subject were notable who had a lead or significant roles in a film or tv show. You will need to find and add reliable sources with reviews of the films the subject had role in, talking about the performance. So far, none of the roles played seem significant. As publicity designer also you have to prove notability where his work made a significant impact worthy of notice. RangersRus (talk) 21:33, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request for review: Draft:Tanuj Mahashabde

[edit]

Hello User:RangersRus,

I hope you're doing well. I would like to kindly request your input on the draft Draft:Tanuj Mahashabde, which is currently awaiting review.

Fellow reviewer User:Jannatulbaqi recently commented that the subject may meet the criteria under WP:NACTOR, but preferred to hear further opinions from other experienced editors before making a final decision.

If you find the time, your review or feedback on the draft would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your time and contributions!

Best regards, User:Cognifex

Request for Review and Approval of NeelChokro: Blue Circle Draft

[edit]

Draft:NeelChokro: Blue Circle

Hi RangersRus! I am submitting a revised version of the Wikipedia draft for NeelChokro: Blue Circle. The previous version, which was submitted by another editor, received your valuable feedback, and I’ve made significant revisions based on the concerns raised.

I would be grateful if you could kindly take another look at the updated draft. If everything meets the required standards, I would appreciate it if you could consider approving the article for publication.

Thank you again for your time and assistance. Marzana.safat (talk) 08:46, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Cool Cat (song) draft update

[edit]

Hi @RangersRus, I’m not the original author of the draft for Cool Cat (song), but I saw your AfC comment asking for more reviews with reliable sources. I went ahead and added two:

1. A contemporary review cited via Queen: Complete Works by Georg Purvis (Titan Books, 2018), referencing Sounds magazine 2. A 2024 retrospective review from To Vima, a major Greek newspaper

Just contributing during the June backlog drive and thought this one was worth polishing up. Cheers, ––Albieabbiati (talk) 15:25, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Draft page submission

[edit]

Hi @RangersRus, you recently gave feedback for a draft page I submitted (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Sanjib_Bhattacharjee). Is it ready to be moved to the mainspace now? Thanks Flyhigh223! (talk) 21:29, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @RangersRus you recently declined my draft page submitted for AfC Draft:Ar. Jayesh Hariyani for notability concerns (among other concerns) and I wish to understand the reason behind that. The subject has won Fellowship of AIA which is quite notable in the field of architecture. Not to mention it makes the subject 5th person in India to receive the honor. I appreciate your time and request you to reconsider the notability concerns. In regards to verifiability and reliability of sources cited I have picked sources like news journals, publications and official sites of awards and/or organizations (not created or influenced by the subject). Some of these sources are common to other Indian Architects wikipedia pages, making them acceptable/reliable source. I look forward to your help and feedbacks. Thank you. Melalekhan24 (talk) 20:45, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please share source that specifically mentions that "The subject has won Fellowship of AIA which is quite notable in the field of architecture. Not to mention it makes the subject 5th person in India to receive the honor." What are these sources for that does not mention the subject anywhere? [1], [2], [3] and most others like these. And sources like INI Design Studio that the subject is associated with is primary and not secondary independent reliable source. RangersRus (talk) 21:15, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@RangersRus Please refer to citation [5] https://cept.ac.in/alumni-office/news/cept-alum-wins-prestigious-aia-fellowship [7]https://www.businessgujaratnews.com/renowned-architect-jayesh-hariyani-wins-prestigious-fellowship-from-american-institute-of-architects/ and https://web.archive.org/web/20230206130159/https:/indiaeducationdiary.in/ahmedabad-based-renowned-architect-jayesh-hariyani-wins-prestigious-aia-fellowship-from-american-institute-of-architects/. For FAIA Honor reference.
Also in regards to Citation [9] [10] they are awarded to his firm that the subject is founder of, leads & directs in present, making it his leadership achievement. Keeping Bimal Patel page as reference where his firm/company awards are added as well. Citation [8] will be removed or updated. Looking forward to your feedbacks. Melalekhan24 (talk) 21:38, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
everything under "Golden Trezzini Awards", looks like applicants for awards in different category. Please check these sources and if they are not awards given as it does not say so and looks like nominations that are voted by others, remove them. Please also remove awards shared from primary sources INI studio. For fellowship, replace business Gujarat times with better source as this source has not author, owner and editor insight and might as well be blog. These would be much better [4] and [5]. RangersRus (talk) 22:08, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Bimal Patel is not a good example as sources are missing for most awards but likely made it to mainspace for padma shri award. Your page is much better. Please make the changes and let me know. Thank you for sharing sources that helped me to do research and the subject looks notable. RangersRus (talk) 22:12, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@RangersRus Thank you for guiding me on the draft. I have made all the changes we discussed. I have also removed the section where the subject is not cited directly in the source. I have removed awards shared from primary sources. Updated the FAIA Citation as suggested. I look forward to your feedback and approval of the article. Melalekhan24 (talk) 22:36, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @RangersRus thank you for going through the draft and approving it. I see a flag on the article stating’a major contributor appears to have a connection to the subject.’ Can you please explain why that message is showing on top of the article and help me remove it? I have worked on the articles neutral language and the article is supported by citations, making it not read like an advertisement.
Appreciate your input. Melalekhan24 (talk) 18:14, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

June 2025

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Borgenland (talk) 04:46, 20 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Borgenland: @TParis: I have not been on for a while and I do not have a complete memory about the article I reviewed. After looking at the discussion with the creator of the article on my talk page [[User_talk:RangersRus#[Jayesh_Hariyani|Ar._Jayesh_Hariyani_Draft] ]], I remember that User_talk:Melalekhan24#Your_submission_at_Articles_for_creation:_Ar._Jayesh_Hariyani_(June_4) I declined the request because of poor, unreliable primary sources and lack of evidence if the subject was notable. Creator asked for suggestion and I recommended to improve the page by replacing unreliable sources with secondary independent reliable sources and prove the notability. The creator shared some links on the subject and also a page Bimal Patel (architect) to show similarity. I too did some research finding subject's name and notability like awarded fellowship (I was told before by some reviewers that fellowship is regarded notable) from American Institute of Architects]. After creator made suggested improvements, I accepted the article. After that I am not sure what all changes followed like I have not been on for a while. If others found that the subject was not notable and deleted the article for the same, I am OK and and it will help me to be more careful when reviewing such similar article in the future. Thank you. RangersRus (talk) 02:29, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's fine, it's over now. I've laid out unblock conditions for the author that requires him not to edit in an area he has a COI in. He hasn't responded. So I'm considering the matter closed.--v/r - TP 02:43, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding this revert, why did you disagree? The article body says:

Fausto Veranzio (...) was a Croatian polymath, diplomat and bishop from...

When you reverted the edit, you did not put an additional explanation. According to the revert screen, edits that don't revert obvious vandalism need to be explained, rather than simply having the default revert message. Because of this, I am debating whether or not to accept this edit because of this mini dispute. Justjourney (talk | contribs) 03:53, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I have not been on Wikipedia for a while now. IP who made the edit must have not explained or added any description to the change that looked like obvious vandalism and that is why the change was reverted. It seems another reviewer accepted the change that must have been valid since the time I last reviewed. RangersRus (talk) 02:22, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Administrator Elections | Call for Candidates

[edit]
Administrator Elections | Call for Candidates

The administrator elections process has officially started! Interested editors are encouraged to self-nominate or arrange to be nominated by reviewing the instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/July 2025/Candidates.

Here is the schedule:

  • July 9–15 - Call for candidates
  • July 18–22 - Discussion phase
  • July 23–29 - SecurePoll voting phase

Please note the following:

  • The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed.
  • Prospective candidates are advised to become familiar with the community's expectations of administrators, which are much higher than the minimum requirement of having extended confirmed status. This includes reviewing successful and unsuccessful RFAs, reading the essay Wikipedia:Advice for RfA candidates, and possibly requesting an optional poll on their chances of passing.
  • The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
  • The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
  • Administrator elections are also a valid means of regaining adminship for de-sysopped editors.

Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. A separate user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.

If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.

Question regarding Draft:Davi The Mavi submission

[edit]

Hello RangersRus,

I hope you're doing good and thank you for taking the time to review the draft for Davi The Mavi. Per my COI declaration, I am the artist's father and am submitting this via the AfC process to ensure compliance.

I would appreciate your guidance regarding your "WP:TOOSOON" comment. Our understanding was that multiple instances of significant coverage in reliable sources like Clash Magazine, Notion, and Wordplay Magazine were sufficient to meet the criteria under WP:NMUSIC, even without a chart placement.

Could you please advise what type of sourcing, beyond what was provided, would be needed to overcome the "too soon" concern? We want to ensure the draft is fully compliant, and your expert feedback would be invaluable before we consider resubmitting in the future.

Thank you for your time and for your volunteer work on the project.

-- Musiclover1975uk (talk)

Musiclover1975uk (talk) 20:03, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You need to declare that you are associated with the subject. The sources are all purely intended for promoting and marketing the artists. The sources and the coverage for a notable musician is someone who has made a significant impact or achievement in the music business that has been widely covered in well known news media. I do not see any such achievement of the subject to pass notability. When I mentioned TOOSOON, it is meant that the subject in future might get the kind of notability Wikipedia is looking for and then a draft can be created and submitted. Draft:B4B

[edit]

Здравствуйте!Вы говорите по-русски? Пожалуйста, помогите мне решить проблему. Я старался правильно цитировать и указывать надёжные источники. Подскажите, в чём именно ошибка, чтобы я мог её исправить. Заранее благодарю. Hello!Do you speak Russian? Please help me solve the problem. I tried to quote correctly and point out reliable sources. Please tell me what exactly is the error so that I can fix it. Thank you in advance. Projowio (talk) 09:56, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You are missing significant coverage in secondary independent reliable sources to pass notability. You have to prove that the subject is notable. Reasons are given in the decline comment. Please gollow the guidelines given to improve the page or it will continue to be declined by other reviewers unless the guidelines are met. RangersRus (talk) 17:05, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Administrator Elections | Discussion phase

[edit]
Administrator Elections | Discussion phase

The discussion phase of the July 2025 administrator elections is officially open. As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:

  • July 18–22 - Discussion phase (we are here)
  • July 23–29 - SecurePoll voting phase
  • July 30–c. Aug 3 - Scrutineering phase

We are currently in the discussion phase. The candidate subpages are open to questions and comments from everyone, in the same style as a request for adminship. You may discuss the candidates at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/July 2025/Discussion phase.

On July 23, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close again to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's totals during the election. You must be extended confirmed to vote.

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last approximately four days, or perhaps a little longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (you may want to watchlist this page) and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and must also have received a minimum of 20 support votes. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").

Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

You're receiving this message because you signed up for the mailing list. To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the list.

Eternal Returns

[edit]

Hi there RangersRus. Thanks for your review of my Eternal Returns draft. I just want to clarify that I did in fact add a new independent reference, relating to the new album? Accordingly, there are several independent sources AND WP:BAND is met (because they have produced two albums). Could you please help me understand what the problem is here? Please see reference 5. Viljowf (talk) Viljowf (talk) 14:36, 18 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have reliable sources to show if the band had a single or album on any country's national music chart? Or had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country? Or, received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country? Or has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are independently notable)? Source 5 looks like a blog. RangersRus (talk) 14:51, 18 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well, they're about to release their second album, and there is independent coverage of that. (Forthcoming albums are included further down in WP:BAND) Rockthebestmusic is a reputable, independent Spanish music magazine. It is cited across various pages: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Seasons_(band), magma, to name two. Both Brutal and Wormholedeath records count as major indie labels: https://wormholedeath.com/about/ The metal scene is niche, but the band features strongly in multiple independent sources. Viljowf (talk) 17:08, 18 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
And, of course, ample coverage of their first full length album too. Viljowf (talk) 17:09, 18 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Any reviews you can find? RangersRus (talk) 12:49, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, source 1,2,3, 7,8,9 are reviews of "Reprieved to totality" (the first album). The second album is "Let there be sin", that's source 5, 11, and 12. Viljowf (talk) 14:40, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Given that it meets WP:Band, can you please reconsider? Viljowf (talk) 03:40, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I looked again at the sources 1,2,3,7,8,9,5,11,12. Of these only 9 is an actual review from reliable source Rolling Stone India. 2 and 5 also stood out as review from rockthebestmusic.com by same author David Galeote but is it reliable source and is the author an actual critic who has written for well known magazines like Rolling Stone? No. The website itself is not reliable that is owned by an individual named Ángel Ferrer Samatán who says A music lover since before I was born, I enjoy translating songs and poetry. I love writing. I'm a perpetual learner and I absorb almost every musical style, but I melt when I hear good alternative rock.
Other sources are Marketing and Promotional such as New Noise Magazine that is also likely unreliable since they get paid for advertising. The link you have clearly shows at the end that the author has given a link to the buy the album and promoting to follow the band. Don’t be a poser, buy Reprieved To Totality here. Follow the band on Facebook here. Real critics do not do that.
So far you have one good review by Rolling Stone India but you need multiple like these. RangersRus (talk) 12:33, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Whan Shin Lee

[edit]

Hello, and thank you for reviewing and providing feedback on the draft article Draft:Whan Shin Lee. I had 2 questions about your comments and would appreciate your insight.

1) This is foremost a notable religious figure, not an academic, so I am confused why it needs to meet academic-specific criteria. Could you clarify on this feedback, please?

2) I cited multiple secondary sources, including encyclopedias and established newspapers focused on Korean religious life and Methodism. Would you be willing to share what is insufficient? Is it the number of sources? Is it because most are not in English?

I'm striving to learn the norms of Wikipedia better and I'm eager to understand how I can improve my work. Really appreciate your time and insight. Thank you. 푸르름 (talk) 13:14, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

1) The subject was an educator who taught at Methodist Theological University and Yonsei University and served on the boards of Yonsei University and Ewha Haktang. This is an academic.
2) Sources need to prove subject's notability whather as a WP:PROF or WP:NACADEMIC or a religious figure who has made a significant impact or had a great achievement, well noted at national and international level. RangersRus (talk) 13:39, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the response.
1) It seems your impression is that his main contribution is as an academic. I would appreciate suggestions on how to clarify the draft so that it doesn't come across that way. I have already labeled him as first and foremost a religious figure, the template I used is for a religious figure, and the main contributions I write about are religious in nature. The fact that he taught at universities on these topics is a supporting detail reflecting his influence in these religious topics. However, he was not an "academic" in the sense of focusing on research and scholarship, he was moreso an instructor, as you can see from the line you quoted. How can I make this clearer in the article text?
2) I have sources from both national and international perspectives about the subject's impact in this field, so I would appreciate more detail on what specifically is insufficient about the sources I included. Please feel free to be honest. I can't fix what I can't understand and I appreciate you taking the time to explain. 푸르름 (talk) 00:45, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I just noticed that I had mistakenly duplicated a line about his teaching, so perhaps that is why you got that impression. My apologies. It is fixed now. 푸르름 (talk) 00:50, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 15:44:01, 19 July 2025 for assistance on AfC submission by Surendrankaliyaperumal

[edit]

I have improved the draft by adding independent and reliable sources (e.g., Deccan Chronicle, The Hindu, Film Companion). The subject, Vinoth Rathinasamy, has been the cinematographer for multiple notable Tamil films, including "Bumper", "MGR Magan", and "Nedunalvaadai" – the latter earned him awards. I believe the subject meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines for creative professionals (WP:CREATIVE). Kindly review again.

About "The Hydropathes" draft

[edit]

Greetings, you recently rejected my draft for "The Hydropathes". I would like to know which sections, claims or statements do not meet the minimum inline citation requirements, as almost every phrase has a source linked to it. Please let me know if there are any other issues with my draft. Thank you in advance for your help. HC226 (talk) 15:50, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I will take two to show you.
Kostelanetz, Richard. “HYDROPATHES”, , A dictionary of the avant-gardes. (2nd ed. Abingdon: Routledge, 2016–) Article first published 2001. Article published online January 2016. (Accessed 04 July 2025.) https://rme.rilm.org/rme/stable/592522.
Use citation template requirement as recommended. Wikipedia:Citation_templates.
And for sources this, Harding, James Martin (2000). Contours of the Theatrical Avant-Garde: Performance and Textuality. University of Michigan Press. ISBN 978-0-472-06727-5. p.18, you have to show footnotes or quotes directly from the book for verification. A footnote is helpful that contain a relevant quotation from the source. A quotation allows readers to immediately identify the applicable portion of the reference. Quotes are also useful if the source is not easily accessible. RangersRus (talk) 16:09, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
In regards to this. Is it not okay to reference sources in the way that they state you should reference them? For example, this source is cited as indicated in the original document:
Laurine Fontaine. Les Arts Incohérents et leur siècle, un mouvement artistique et littéraire. Un mouvement de rupture et de continuité : héritages et aspirations artistico-littéraires d’une esthétique nouvelle. Art et histoire de l’art. 2022. ffdumas-04958324f
Should I change it to fit the standart Wikipedia format or just leave this and other similar cases as is?
On the other hand, what you're saying is that I should include a direct citation as a footnote on each case where I cite an source and use a page number? Or is this about every "long" source where the information may not be easy to find?
Thank you for your help. HC226 (talk) 16:29, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Where you have a web link URL link, its better to add the url= for it to be click able for reviewers and reader to verify it. That is why I was recommended using a proper citation.
{{cite web
| last = Spiegel
| first = Rachel
| title = Research: Thalido...
| url = http://science-educat...
| access-date = 30 April 2006
| url-status=
| }}
For those where you do not have a link, most case these are books, if you can find a Google book link directly to the page number you mentioned, that is helpful but if its not possible, then in the citation template, you can add |quote=(add one or two lines directly from the book).
{{cite book
| last1 = Cordell | first1 = Bruce R.
| first2 = Jeff | last2 = Grubb
| first3 =David | last3 = Noonan
| title = Manual of the Planes
| location = Berlin
| url = if you can find
| publisher = Wizards of the Coast
| pages = 198–203
| date = September 2001
| isbn = 0-786918-50-0
| quote = Short quotes from the page for verification if link is not avaliable}}
Does this help? I am sorry if I am not clear. Pls ask more if you have any questions. RangersRus (talk) 16:48, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
In the case of Harding, I do not have a Google Books link but I do have for the Internet Archive: https://archive.org/details/contoursoftheatr0000unse/page/18/mode/2up?view=theater
Is this good enough? Furthermore, should I add the citation as a footnote even if it is already directly cited in the text (I thought this was clear when I made it a block citation, I apologize) ? HC226 (talk) 16:58, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As an additional question, I would like to know what the procedure for direct citations would be when using non-english language sources. Should I just add the original French or do I translate and add both? Thank you. HC226 (talk) 16:46, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This will have answer Wikipedia:Verifiability#Non-English_sources. RangersRus (talk) 16:52, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Could you please see the draft I have revised? I have corrected the comments that were pointed out by another reviewer. 95.153.162.203 (talk) 13:59, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Draft

[edit]

Can you please tell why you declined the draft. Proper References are given. All the teams who compete with us in the premier league have the Wikipedia pages. Draft:FC Ganderbal 2001:4490:490D:2446:86C2:8A48:1D48:941F (talk) 14:16, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No significant coverage on the team and its history. All the sources are about win and lose against another team. Also the team does not seem to be at national or international level but rather local to J/K region. RangersRus (talk) 14:22, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Oscar García Urrego

[edit]

This submission has been constantly declined based on the allegations that:

“This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.”

While I understand the requirements for the approval of articles, and the need for “reliable sources”, the article does quote from 3 reliable sources: the Miami Herald; Rueda La Economía (a Colombian based news agency), and from CommunityWire, the news service from the University of Miami School of Communication. Any additional mentions are included to support facts and statements found in the article. The individual in question was a successful Latin American producer, musician, and song writer, although it was mostly in Spanish speaking circles, mostly in Venezuela, between the 1960s and the early 1990s. With almost 4 discographic productions (he was mostly a producer, not a singer: https://www.discogs.com/artist/4199273-Oscar-Garc%C3%ADa-Urrego?srsltid=AfmBOoqa2KE9BnbEAprz_C-eqE4nuNi61bvQB6hBMpndwcdVQ7Zm8kEM&superFilter=Credits), and almost 1000 songs produced or arranged, it cannot be said that he was of little merit (there are articles in Wikipedia about 1 term village mayors in remote areas, for example). The popularity of the bands he played with (La Playa and Los Melodicos) was shared via printed media, over 50 years ago, and it was based mostly, once again, in South America. It is very difficult to get those newspapers, but the fame of those musical groups (and Garcia’s significant participation in their success), cannot be denied. Kybihetz21 (talk) 13:42, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sources needed are secondary independent. Better to not have interviews. Notability also looks for the musician's achievements at national or International level, like has any song or album made it to top of country's chart? Has had the subject record certified gold or higher in at least one country? Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country?
Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are independently notable)? All these with reliable sources pass notability for a singer or musician. On the page, it says was a Colombian pianist, arranger, composer and musical director. but now you say he was a producer. Please be clear and still it does not help to pass notability. RangersRus (talk) 13:58, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It is difficult to find newspaper articles from Colombia and/or Venezuela from the 1960s-1980s while doing online research. The subject in question achieved notoriety in South America during those times, and as you can check on the corresponding Wikipedia article on one of the bands he played/was musical director at (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Mel%C3%B3dicos), it was an internationally known band, albeit in Latin America. With almost 40 discographic productions (he was mostly a producer/arranger/director, not a singer: https://www.discogs.com/artist/4199273-Oscar-Garc%C3%ADa-Urrego?srsltid=AfmBOoqa2KE9BnbEAprz_C-eqE4nuNi61bvQB6hBMpndwcdVQ7Zm8kEM&superFilter=Credits), and almost 1000 songs produced or arranged, it cannot be said that he was of little merit. While the supporting articles/links are mostly in Spanish, whoever reviews the submission should check that the information provided is not fake, and that the few articles that mention his name are used to confirm the veracity of the listed facts. Kybihetz21 (talk) 14:22, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @RangersRus I noticed that you declined this draft, and I respect your decision on this matter, the so-called Anuradhapura invasion of the Chola Kingdom (114-136) is not based on historical fact but is rather a myth or legend. Neither Chola records nor the Mahavamsa mention this event, suggesting it never occurred. The story is more rooted in local folklore , mysticism, legend. Also you too mentioned Sources are old in the comment, I too agreed with this. I already discussed with the person who created this draft that this event is not a fact but myth. But he is not agreeing with me. So I don't wanna argue with him. You just make the decision whether to keep or delete this draft based on the reliable sources. I provided the sources that proves this invasion is a myth . Have a look at it.

1) As noted by Gananath Obeyesekere in The Cult of the Goddess Pattini, on page 365:

"Pg-365...Even a cursory glance at the Gajabähu story suggests that the account has no historical veracity. The highly improbable ignorance of the king regarding the twelve thousand pris-oners taken captive in his father's reign till he is informed of it by an old widow, the cleav-ing of the ocean in two, and other miraculous events show that this account is hardly historical, though it may be based on some actual event whose nature I am in no position to infer. The account, however, is almost in point-by-point agreement with the Gajabahu myth sung in water cutting rituals. The inference is irresistible: the Gajabahu story is not a historical episode at all, but a mythic one associated with water cutting (and probably other customs) and incorporated into the two Sinhala chronicles. Thus the reason the ear-lier Mahavamsa account did not mention the episode is that it simply did not take place historically.
To sum up what I have said so far. The Gajabahu episode in the Rajavaliya and Rajarat nakara is probably derived from the origin myth of the water cutting ceremony or from similar myths and has nothing to do with the historical Gajabahu of the Mahavamsa, who lived in the second century..
pg.368 There is then remarkable evolution of Gajabahu story from the matter of fact in Mahavamsa to elaborated myth in Rajavaliya. Mythical elements are present in pujavaliya are absent in material from 5th century During this period, Gajabahu of history transformed into Gajabahu of myth. Pujavaliya commences myth making process by reference to cleaving the ocean and bring back captives. "

This makes it clear that the so-called invasion, attributed to Gajabahu, is not a genuine historical occurrence but a mythological narrative and should be renamed as Myth or Lengendary Invasion.

2. WMK. Wijetunga, Rise and Decline of Chola power in Ceylon.

Pg. 54...There is, however, no unanimity, even among the Sinhalese sources, as far as the career of Gajabāhu is concerned. For instance, the Pujavaliya, the earliest of the Sinhalese works to incorporate this new account, states that when it was brought to the notice of Gajabahu that people from Ceylon were going to Kaveri [pattanam] for service in his own time, ....
Pg. 55...The Rajavaliya gives the latest account, which is also the most elaborate, with the thickest coating of fiction and legend. This illustrates how much extraneous material came to be added to earlier traditions. As a result the whole account assumes a marvellous and romantic nature. ..
Pg.56...A detailed analysis of this account exposes its shaky foundations. It is hard to believe that Gajabahu was completely unaware of an invasion if it had taken place in his father's reign. Nor could one seriously accept his breathtaking display at the court of the Cola king. Similarly the list of places where the Cola prisoners were settled reveals the late origin of the whole account. The fact that the Dipavamsa, the Mahavamsa and the Vamsetthappa-kasini (Mahavamsa-tīka) have all remained ignorant of these events suggests that the whole account was added later,....
Pg.57...Dipavamsa which had no such hero, also makes no mention of it robs this suggestion of its poignancy.
Apart from the Pattini cult, and the visit of Kayavahu to the Cera court, however, there is no other information to establish the accuracy of the account of a Cola invasion to Ceylon, or a counter-invasion of the Sinhalese.
Pg.58...There, however, traditions of an early Cola ruler Karikala, who is said to have invaded foreign countries, and constructed the bounds of the river Kaveri with the labour of prisoners.1 The date of Karikāla has not been settled, nor is the identity of Senguttuvan Cera because of the number of Cera kings who bore this name. There is also no South Indian tradition of an invasion. of Ceylon by Karikala, nor of the employment of Sinhalese in the work on the Kaveri. Karikāla himself has been the centre of much popular tradition. The first recorded mention of the work on the Kaveri is comparatively late. These factors make one seriously doubt the Gajabāhu account in the Sinhalese chronicles, except for the possibility that he was in some way connected with the introduction of the Pattini cult to Ceylon, which was later explained by the Sinhalese authors in a romantic way.

From Wijetunga's comment on this invasion we can understand that Whole event was added later. It shows it is a myth or legend not an invasion.

3) Sri Lanka : a history by De Silva, Chandra Richard, pg.34

"Pujavaliya a sinhalese work of thirteenth century does mentions Chola invasion and counter invasion. But the lack of evidence from earlier sources as well as the incredible tales connected with the counter invasions prompt us to treat the account with Caution "

4. HW Cordington, in short history of Lanka . Pg 23. He address this event as a legend.

"A king of little account in the older chronicle, he has attained a certain fame in popular legend. According to the mediaeval account, in the time of his father, 12,000 men had been sent to work at Kaveri on the Coromandel coast ; in the late Rajavaliya this has developed into an invasion by the Chola king. Gaja Bahu, while walking in the city one night, heard a widow weeping because her children had been carried off. The king, who was unaware of what had happened in his father’s time, assembled his army, but resolved to accomplish his purpose unaided in person. The Rajavaliya relates the story thus"

He said Gajabahu got fame in legend and explained it with mediaeval account. He also said Chola invasion was developed later in Rajavaliya, but not mentioned in mediaeval account. It shows that legends are added in the later accounts.

5. De Silva, Sanath; Siriweera, W. I. (2017). Warfare in Srilanka: Military History of The Island from Earliest Times upto Independence (1st ed.). Sarasavi. p. 26

" So called South Indian exploits of Gajabahu I (114-136) to avenge an invasion during the reign of previous ruler Vankanasika Tissa (111-114) are confused in detail and wrapped in hyperbole. Neither the Mahavamsa nor other ancient texts refer to Gajabahu's invasion of South India. It is mentioned only in the Rajavaliya written in the eighteenth century, sixteen centuries after the presumed event." Whether there is any historical truth in that legendary description is a matter of doubt”

6.The Early History Of Ceylon by Mendis. G.C.

"One of the successors of Vasabha was his grandson Gajaba (a.d. 174-176). Later legends, without sufficient reason, represent him as one who invaded South India successfully and brought back a large number of captives to the island.1
Notes : 1.Neither the Mahavansa nor any early Tamil literary work mentions anything to support the stay. "

7. De Silva, History of Lanka(second reprint 2008) He never really mentioned this invasion as it didn't happen. But he mentioned Parakramabahu's involvement in South India but not Gajabahu invasion, it shows he didn't believe this war as true or fact.

8. Patrick peebles, History of Sri Lanka 2006, He too not mentioned this war. While mentioning all other events.

9. The Colas by Sastry, He gave the entire history of Cholas, but he too skipped the Gajabahu invasion.

10. The Alagappa University, History of Tamilnadu.This book contains the entire history of Tamilnadu.In this book too there is no mention of this event.

11. History Of Cholas By R. Manikkanar 2013 Tamilvarachithurai Tamil Anon. This book contains the detailed history of Cholas but it didn't mention this event.

12. History of Cholas by Rajagopalan. This book contains the detailed history of Cholas but it didn't mention this event.

The reason why I am writing here is we should not mislead people by saying mythical war as real war. I will give you reason why it is Mythical or legend.

1. Chola Sources didn't mention it.

2. Dipawamsa and Mahavamsa didn't mention this. But later sources after 1000 years mentioned it.

3.No archaeological evidence to prove this event.

4. This invasion is based on the water cutting custom and other myth as said by Obeyasekare.

5. Majority of the Historians while talking about the history of lanka and history of South India, they skipped it. Because it is not real event.

6. The whole event was added later as said by Wijetunga.

7. There is no unanimity, even among the Sinhalese sources, as far as the career of Gajabāhu is concerned. sinhalese sources contradicts each other.

8. Sinhalese sources keep adding the myths and legends in their sources. 13 th century account didn't mention any Cholas invasion but later 16 and 17th century account added the Chola invasion in the myth. It is noted by Cordington he mentioned it

"According to the mediaeval account, in the time of his father, 12,000 men had been sent to work at Kaveri on the Coromandel coast ; in the late Rajavaliya this has developed into an invasion by the Chola king."

So this is how this myth has been evolved and Obeyesekare also explained how this myth evolved. In his book on pg.368

"There is then remarkable evolution of Gajabahu story from the matter of fact in Mahavamsa to elaborated myth in Rajavaliya. Mythical elements are present in pujavaliya are absent in material from 5th century During this period, Gajabahu of history transformed into Gajabahu of myth. Pujavaliya commences myth making process by reference to cleaving the ocean and bring back captives."

So we need to mark this invasion as Legend or myth not as fact or real event.

It will take time for me to go over this. RangersRus (talk) 02:12, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @RangersRus, Did you get time to go over this? Any update on this?
In the draft I seen that the user is using this source " De Silva, Sanath; Siriweera, W. I. (2017). Warfare in Srilanka: Military History of The Island from Earliest Times upto Independence (1st ed.). Sarasavi. p. 26" to prove this invasion. But this source clearly doubted the invasion not accepting it as fact. "Neither the Mahavamsa nor other ancient texts refer to Gajabahu's invasion of South India. It is mentioned only in the Rajavaliya written in the eighteenth century, sixteen centuries after the presumed event. Whether there is any historical truth in that legendary description is a matter of doubt."
Also that user misleaded the source I provided like "Gananath Obeyesekere in The Cult of the Goddess Pattini, "
The author in the source accepted this invasion as myth and legend but that user said author accepted the invasion as fact. This user keeps misleading it.
Also go through the sources I provided which proves this invasion is a myth. Some doubts this invasion and some says this invasion is myth. Ranithraj (talk) 05:10, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Administrator Elections | Voting phase

[edit]
Administrator Elections | Voting phase

The voting phase of the July 2025 administrator elections has started and continues until July 29 at 23:59 UTC. You can participate in the voting phase at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/July 2025/Voting phase.

As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:

  • July 23–29 – Voting phase
  • July 30–c. Aug 3 – Scrutineering phase

In the voting phase, the candidate subpages will close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies to vote will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's vote total during the election. The suffrage requirements are similar to those at RFA.

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for approximately four days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and a minimum of 20 support votes. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").

Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

Draft:Give Us The Moon (The Night Flight Orchestra album)

[edit]

Hi I saw your comments on the review for my article on the Give Us The Moon album. I had a question regarding the sources. I was wondering why some of the sources were considered unreliable when they have been used on other album pages on Wikipedia. For example I used Blabbermouth, Louder (Metal Hammer), Metal Temple Magazine, and Everything is Noise which all been used as approved sources in other album articles.

Thank you for the review and thank you for your time! Jholsclaw79 (talk) 03:41, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for sharing the pages and let's be clear, just because a source makes it on a page, it does not mean that they are approved. They are just overlooked. One platform for you to get opinion is at WP:RSN. I am also going to invite other AFC reviewers here so that they can glance at the sources under reception and give an opinion. @DoubleGrazing: @Qcne: @KylieTastic: @Theroadislong:. Guys, I feel sources like Metal Temple Everything is noise Moshville are personal sites/blogs or say a median for fans and volunteers to review, share and discuss music. I do not find these reliable critical reviews. RangersRus (talk) 20:02, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think they're awful sources.. they're certainly not mainstream music magazines/websites, but they're not individual blogs run by a single person. qcne (talk) 20:41, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Moshville is powered by wordpress, a user-friendly platform for individuals who want to build a personal online presence, whether for a portfolio, a blog, or a general personal site. Everythingisnoise has volunteer team and ask others to join. Metal Temple is founded by Yannis Mitsakos and site is hosted by Cyberoid. RangersRus (talk) 20:54, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
WordPress is also used by major companies and mainstream websites. qcne (talk) 20:55, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think Moshville is a major company or mainstream websites? I have not heard or seen wordpress platform used by major companies to host company sites. RangersRus (talk) 20:58, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
WordPress is genuinely used by major companies. Even NASA uses WordPress!
In any case, Moshville and Everything Noise seem to have an editorial team: Crew Profiles – The Moshville Times and About - Everything Is Noise and Metal-Temple have this: Crew Members - Metal Temple Magazine
I am not seeing these websites as your typical blogspam sites that we wouldn't consider reliable immediately. qcne (talk) 21:06, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Professional critic crews and volunteer/fans crew like these sites have a difference imo. @Jholsclaw79: you can resubmit you draft for review again for another reviewer to look at it. RangersRus (talk) 21:14, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both for your time and information. I have resubmitted the draft for review.

Draft:Pramod Deo – Notability Clarification

[edit]

Hi @RangersRus, thanks for reviewing the draft about Dr. Pramod Deo. I saw your note that the YouTube interviews don't meet the bar for secondary sources, and I understand the distinction. These were not promotional or autobiographical videos — they were independent news media interviews (e.g., Bloomberg TV) where Dr. Deo was consulted as an expert on the Indian energy sector. He wasn’t speaking about himself or his career, but providing regulatory insight. In this sense, I understood them to reflect his public stature and authority in the field, not to serve as primary sources for notability. I wanted to clarify that Dr. Deo was the chairperson of India’s national electricity regulatory commission (CERC), a cabinet-level role roughly equivalent to the chair of FERC in the U.S. — all of whom have existing Wikipedia pages (see Willie L. Phillips, Allison Clements, James Danly, Bernard McNamee, Bernard McNamee, etc.).

I’m currently in the process of finding additional coverage in Indian media outlets, but frankly I believe his role and national-level significance already do meet the [notability guidelines for public officials](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#Politicians_and_judges), which states "

  • Politicians and judges who have held international, national, or (for countries with federal or similar systems of government) state/province–wide office, or have been members of legislative bodies at those levels...

Any guidance on what types of coverage would be most appropriate would be really appreciated.

Thanks again for your time and help.

~~~~ Tloftus1 (talk) 13:34, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sources are better of independent of the subject. Interview articles or interview video where the subject is talking about himself or for any other matter is still non-independent for this page. If the page is about the subject then all sources should be secondary independent. Significant coverage about his biography, career, achievements, awards at national or International level from secondary independent reliable sources, is looked at to find the subject notable. Please find such sources and replace non-independent sources. RangersRus (talk) 13:48, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok will do. I can remove them but can we please establish the top energy regulator of the most populous nation on earth meets notability guidelines? 131.106.38.124 (talk) 13:50, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Request for Review: The Hydropathes
[edit]
Hey Rus, last week, you reviewed my draft for The Hydropathes. You told me that its major issue was a lack of citations when I cited a specific page number on a book, which were needed in order to verify the authenticity of my statements. I have since reformatted my references, adding direct citations whenever possible. I tried to be efficient with the amount of text added, and only avoided putting direct quotes when the material was too long to cite and I provided a link to access it. I would like to kindly request a new review of my draft, thank you. HC226 (talk) 17:26, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
AfC Accepted Article
[edit]
Hello! I'm asking about Mostafa Amir out of curiosity so I can better understand notability. I saw this page while doing WP:RCP and was considering tagging it for notability or draftifying it but I noticed it has gone through the AfC process. At first glance, it doesn't look like (to me) that there's any indication of importance, or significant coverage. But this isn't an area that I deal with very often, and I'd like to improve my understanding. --tony 19:29, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Subject also earned the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, making him the youngest recipient of this honor. This accolade reflects his outstanding contributions to his community and his commitment to service. RangersRus (talk) 15:08, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
) I rlly appreciate you for your constructive review on my draft project. But, those are real sources I.e.the tribune - an online media with wide coverage and just few local sources. If you checked my previous edit history you’ll noticed that I almost wiped the whole words-for-words. Someone actually told me, to work more on it. I actually look at some articles bout these universities I’m very familiar with, they are now green articles most of them have just two references and some sprinkles of local source (school website). Theirs can’t stand mine right now - it’s vivid. I will heed to your correction brother, but what is fun and work without constructive dialogues. Thank you.
Regarding rejection of Emiway Bantai (Bilal Shaikh Rapper) draft.
[edit]
Greetings RangerRus. Can you tell me how notability hasn't heen established even though 27 sources have been given that too from reliable, secondary sources like Hindustan times, Times of India, Rolling Stone, etc. just like how the rejection message stated. I'm very confused, do I have to add more sources or what? Every line in the draft has been backed by a source. Thanking You, Yours faithfully, Oxwin. Oxwin (talk) 18:13, 31 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I will go through first 5. Source 1 is about rapper wedding and not independent. Source 2 No significant coverage. Source 3 Unreliable. Source 4 routine news, Falls Face-First Out Of Moving SUV, nothing significant. Source 5 non independent from Rolling Stone. So you need to have "significant coverage" on the subject with sources that are "secondary independent reliable" sources. RangersRus (talk) 21:29, 31 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Draft:Quasiparticle interference imaging
[edit]
Dear RangerRus, thanks for reviewing the draft. I just got the rejection of this draft for reasons of copyright violation. I am not sure I follow where the copyright violation is. I wrote all the text myself in my own words, not paraphrasing any source. If there is similar wording to other articles, that would be coincidence. (it is the case though that for research related texts describing methods, wording is often by similar because it is the same method that is described). If there is a failure for me declaring a copyright somewhere, please do let me know. Pwstauk (talk) 14:07, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I hope you are doing well. I am looking for some additional feedback regarding the sources for my article. They seemed individualized to me and were from either the clubs official semi professional league or the club page its self. I also want to note the Patch article which is a well accomplished media outlet in CT. Any additional feedback to how we can get this thing published would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
User76432 (talk) 21:00, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Most of the sources you have on the page says that page not found or 404 error and others do not have significant coverage on the subject and achievements made at national or International level. RangersRus (talk) 12:21, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Draft:Lout Jonkers
[edit]
Dear @RangersRus. Thank you very much for your attention to the page Draft:Lout Jonkers. I've made edits, adding a Legacy section and relevant references. I followed the logic that if a person was an academic researcher and developed an original concept that is known internationally, does that not indicate he is a notable figure — or am I mistaken? The concept is not only known: at the Russian Academy of Sciences, a research fellow gave a presentation explicitly titled "Meritonomics" in the Socio-Technical Systems Concept of H. L. Jonkers. Moreover, the term has spread beyond academic discourse, including into applied developments, which I also referenced. Thus, it seems reasonable to conclude that his contribution is recognized as significant and is clearly attributed to him. Astra Amanda (talk) 11:14, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Problem is the sources. Some source like blogs and personal sites are unreliable. Sources that are somewhat reliable, need significant coverage. All the publications should also have a source with review on them. If you disagree, you are always welcome to resubmit for another reviewer to review. RangersRus (talk) 12:20, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I’ve made the edits, adding conference materials and an article from an external media outlet as sources, and submitted the page for review.
Websites and personal blogs were used only as supplementary sources for the biographical background.
I will add a reference to the academic paper that currently lacks a proper citation. Astra Amanda (talk) 15:59, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Draft:Amit Kumar Das
[edit]
Hello @RangersRus! Thank you for taking the time to review my article, Draft:Amit Kumar Das. Could you please elaborate further on why it was declined? I believe the sources are reliable, significant and independent, so your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Once more, thanks for the support! Allakas (talk) 13:41, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Independent should be independent of the subject's comments and interview. Some of the sources are also promotional like TOI and others are routine news. This is same reason it was declined by other reviewers. RangersRus (talk) 12:12, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Draft Ade Permana
[edit]
It passes WP:NMMA as he is ranked in the top ten by fightmatrix SpainMMAfan123 (talk) 05:54, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
But in addition to meeting criteria, the article must still eventually provide sources indicating that the subject meets the general notability guideline. If you have done so after the review, you are welcome to resubmit the draft for review again possibly by another reviewer. RangersRus (talk) 14:57, 5 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Re: declining submission at Articles for creation: Preston Cook (July 30)
[edit]
Thank you for the feedback. I apologize if you've already read this, but I haven't heard back. Anyway, I feel like my mistake is I buried the lede here, because I don't mention why Preston Cook is noteworthy until the INTEREST IN EAGLES header. where I explain that his journey and accomplishment received SIGNIFICANT COVERAGE in multiple reliable national and international sources. Should I move that to the top? Mr. Cook discovered the omission that the Bald Eagle wasn't the official national bird, wrote the legislation, found the congressional co-sponsors, and created the movement that ended up getting his bill signed into law by President Biden. He pursued this because of his deep interest in eagles - as witness by his 40,000 piece collection of eagle artifacts, memoribilia, and historical items, a collection now on display at the National Eagle Center. I sequenced the article this way because I was encouraged by an earlier reviewer to break up my first article into three - Preston Cook, National Bird Initiative, and Preston Cook American Eagle Collection. Was that my big mistake here (among other smaller ones)? Please help, thanks. Tmcfarlandpr (talk) 17:57, 5 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No multiple critical reviews. Only one source. Needs better multiple sources. RangersRus (talk) 17:34, 9 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
