2025 Dhaka fighter jet crash fatalities
[edit]Do you think this Bangladesh source claiming the Health Ministry said 112 people died in the explosive report is reliable? Bloxzge 025 (talk) 17:07, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not proficient in Bangladesh sources and am relying on the Dhaka Tribune due to navigability issues and English. I strongly suggest you hold back from publishing such numbers until they could be verified by other RS. Borgenland (talk) 17:09, 23 July 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Pretty sure it was recent, I even checked the date of when it was reported Hamburger201845 (talk) 20:53, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- There is a difference between the date it occurred and the date it was reported, given that the RSF had been pushed out of Khartoum months ago and everyone is still discovering how much damage occurred after the Battle of Khartoum. Furthermore, it is misleading to write that the RSF claimed responsibility when it fact it was local officials who made the assessment. Borgenland (talk) 02:24, 25 July 2025 (UTC)

Regarding the new section
[edit]Hi! I noticed you added a new section in Maki's article. Just wanted to point out that this edit here already added that listicle mention to the article for the "Dilaw (song)". Since the recognition is more about the song than the artist's overall biography, I think it fits better in the song article rather than the main bio. AdobongPogi masarap 🍛 00:20, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hello! I was using List of awards and nominations received by Bini as a precedent, but I have no strong feelings if you would like to revise it. Borgenland (talk) 02:27, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hmm, I don't have plan to revise it at the moment, but I'm totally open if other editors want to make changes or not. AdobongPogi masarap 🍛 10:47, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
Influence of severe weather on American politics
[edit]Hey Borgenland! I've been working on a new set of articles, which you may be interested in: "Influence of severe weather on American politics". Right now, it is a red link and I have a really small draft right now. But I plan to have it be a "parent" page [summary page] to yearly/decade-articles (so probably a Influence of severe weather on American politics in the 2020s may exist in the future).
For example, I have published the 2020 severe weather-specific article, which included issues with COVID-19 and tornado/hurricane disaster relief, along with the big wildfire controversies and new legislation from it.
I started the 2021-specific article in draftspace today...which includes the 2021 Texas power crisis. Well, based on your contributions to July 2025 Central Texas floods (an article that would certainly be in the 2025-specific article), I wanted to see if you had any interest in helping out with the creation of these type of articles? The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 01:51, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hello! I am a bit overcautious about American politics so I am not that much confident in contributing. But I am free if you need copy-editing. Borgenland (talk) 02:28, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- All good and I totally get being cautious regarding American politics. It is a difficult topic and often leads to too many debates on Wikipedia. On the topic of copy-editing though, would you mind doing a quick copy-edit on Influence of severe weather during 2020 on American politics? Majority of the content is copied from other articles (as seen in the article history). But I am not sure every part flows well or is grammatically error-free. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 02:49, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- Finished making some quick fixes just now. Borgenland (talk) 04:20, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for it! I won’t bug you about the other articles being created, since you are not interested in them. But thank you so much for the copy edit. Have a wonderful day! Cheers! The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 04:29, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- No worries. I don't mind copy-editing them regardless. Borgenland (talk) 04:32, 25 July 2025 (UTC)

Gede
[edit]Hi, surely it is the Ruins of Gedi, not the village, that forms the World Heritage Site? Murgatroyd49 (talk) 08:04, 20 August 2025 (UTC)
- There appears to be a separate section described as the Historic Town in List of World Heritage Sites by year of inscription. Borgenland (talk) 08:07, 20 August 2025 (UTC)
- Gedi is the historic town, not Gede. The latter appears to have grown up because of the popularity of the ruins to tourists. When I visited (about half a century ago) there was a few fishermen's huts on the beach and that was it. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 08:13, 20 August 2025 (UTC)
- Despite rules on anecdotal, I am taking this info into account on grounds on AGF and removed it accordingly. Might I suggest raising this up on that WikiProject also? Borgenland (talk) 08:23, 20 August 2025 (UTC)
- Just checked and my last visit was 1987. Having looked at the UNESCO listing, it is very clear that it is the current day ruins that are referred to. I suspect someone was a little enthusiastic in adding wikilinks to the list. Regards Murgatroyd49 (talk) 08:31, 20 August 2025 (UTC)

Do you think that beginning of process to impose snapback UN sanctions on Iran can be mentioned in this timeline or it can be mentioned in 2025 in Iran. Pachu Kannan (talk) 16:30, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
- I'd prefer wait until the sanctions really return. As for the timeline I don't think it's due, given that this has been going on for 20 years now. Borgenland (talk) 16:31, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

Belgium's recognition of Palestinian state
[edit]This country's recognition of Palestine is conditions based per https://apnews.com/article/belgium-gaza-israel-palestinian-state-4662d73a3f7219c863b7b19eeec06427. I think that this should be mentioned in 2025 in Belgium and 2025 in Palestine. Pachu Kannan (talk) 16:42, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
- I am limiting myself to basics in those articles. If you want to expand go ahead though it can be trimmed per certain conditions. Borgenland (talk) 16:44, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

Sock blocking
[edit]Hey Borgenland, I saw you replying Another Hong Kong sock here. on Talk:Typhoon Ragasa, and after a few moments the sock is completely gone. Agency vs. website
[edit]Thanks for catching that I'd used agency= instead of website= or work=. Just found Template:Cite news#Publisher and apparently I've been doing citenews wrong for as long as I've been using the toolbar in the source editor!
But no thanks for now making me worry if I should go through every edit I've done this year and fix my references >:( Placeholderer (talk) 13:33, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Honestly, I prefer using the term work as a catch-all. In the case of AP, I only use agency if it is republished on another news website. Borgenland (talk) 13:36, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
