User talk:Ophyrius

Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It started today on Monday June 16 and will run until Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible!♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:39, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Ophyrius. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits. For more information about when rollback is appropriate, see Wikipedia:Rollback § When to use rollback.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 19:33, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I can't see how this edit added any incorrect information. The only information added was changing the description of Asena (name) from female given name to a Turkish feminine given name, which is literally mentioned in the first sentence of that article. 2A00:807:C9:F9F1:5024:CE1E:B8F7:8534 (talk) 07:01, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

My bad. I had reverted it as the I believe information in first section, that you removed was necessary. I forgot to re-add the info of second. Thanks for notifying me. :-) Ɔþʱʏɾɪʊs 07:18, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think my changes to the first section removed any necessary information. I removed the is the name of from Asena, is the name of a she-wolf associated with a Göktürk ethnogenic myth. as redundant because it didn't actually add any information that wasn't already obvious (the name of the article is the name of the wolf). I removed the wikilink to Göktürk and the period at the end of the sentence because of MOS:DABONE and MOS:DABPERIOD. 2A00:807:C9:F9F1:5024:CE1E:B8F7:8534 (talk) 07:56, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I never noticed MOS:DABONE, when I was a newcomer. But, I'm a bit curious that how you know so many policies. Ɔþʱʏɾɪʊs 08:30, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've been occasionally editing for a while, so I knew there was a policy about how to do disambiguation pages and looked it up while editing the article, but I didn't know the specific ones until then. Thanks for restoring my revision! :) 2A00:807:C9:F9F1:5024:CE1E:B8F7:8534 (talk) 15:00, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Ashu9154 (16:14, 18 June 2025)

[edit]

How can I post own article --Ashu9154 (talk) 16:14, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I am not Ophyrius but you should Help:Your first article Easternsahara (talk) 00:03, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Easternsahara! I didn't reply as due to username being same as that of a candidate for local elections in here. I turned out to be living in the same city, so I recognized it as his name with his candidate no. I think he wanted to write about him. However I don't know if this is a COI or someone trying to imitate him. OPHYRIUS 04:47, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sackiii

[edit]

I am confused by this edit where you pinged me. Can you provide some clarity please? CNMall41 (talk) 16:20, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I later reverted it as it wouldn't make sense to give a reply after 3 months. I actually wanted to day that I was familiar with the policies as I had actually clean started, but it doesn't make any point to reply now. Sorry :-| OPHYRIUS 17:41, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So you were Sackiii and then started fresh under a new account?--CNMall41 (talk) 22:34, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, I was someone else. I mean I'm User:Xiphoid Vigour & wasn't a sock as it was a clean start account, so I knew about the policies. I'm using this account as Xiphoid Vigour account was compromised. OPHYRIUS 04:30, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am confused as to why you commented on the talk page of Sackiii. What caused you to go to that page and comment?--CNMall41 (talk) 23:05, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's because I had gone to the SPI page to report a sock (turned out to be already reported). I noticed Sackiii & just visited to see if there were any updates & saw your comment that looked like if you were suspicious of me. Let's just leave it for now. OPHYRIUS 05:33, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
