Vinzons Pilot Elementary School

[edit]

Hi, Wikishovel! I noticed your contributions on Vinzons Pilot Elementary School, I rediected on Vinzons Pilot High School because it's not passed on notability per WP:NSCHOOL and WP:GNG. See my revision 1269994951. Is it okay to redirect? I search that school, however I don't see anything about that school except for their Facebook page. I really don't know why it is possible vandalism on redirect lol. Royiswariii Talk! 12:41, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, no your redirect (with explanatory edit summary) was clearly not vandalism. The article creator may have misunderstood your redirect. But since the article creator has reverted the redirect, it will need to go to with proposed deletion or WP:AFD, as I can't find sufficient secondary coverage of the school to meet WP:GNG. Conflict on "Jhoanna" and "Joanna"

[edit]

Hi, Wikishovel! I'm consulting on this requesting move discussion of Talk:Jhoanna (singer) § Requested move 16 January 2025. I'm confident that should be move to "Jhoanna" because there is no disambiguation about Jhoanna, there is a Joanna but it is not associated on the name "Jhoanna". Howard the Duck insisting to oppose and redirect to Joanna because it was a alternative spelling, which is true. However, news outlets, fans and all materials on Bini are called "Jhoanna", and if we continue to insist and go to Joanna, it can be have a huge confusion and mislead to the readers, and I'm not an expert but, it can be confusion on Google algorithms too especially there is a Google Knowledge Panel for Jhoanna Robles. So, what do you think? It should be go to Jhoanna' or Joanna? Also, you can join on discussion, thank you! ROY is WAR Talk! 15:28, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion revised: Albanian Boys Incorporated

[edit]

Hi there! I wanted to let you know that I have revised your speedy deletion nomination for Albanian Boys Incorporated. You nominated this article as A7, G4, and G11. Adding further detail to the Investcorp page

[edit]

Hi Wikishovel

I’m reaching out as I spotted you've previously edited the Investcorp page. I was wondering given you've edited the page before whether you would be interested in reviewing the further detail I have added to the Investcorp talk page?

For context, I work at Kekst CNC, a global communications agency that works with Investcorp to manage its communications. The agency has signed the Wikipedia:Statement on Wikipedia from participating communications firms, which means I understand rules around COI on the platform.

I would really appreciate your review of our suggested edits, and would be grateful if you consider adding some of the edits I’ve suggested to the page.

Any questions or feedback you have would be much appreciated too! AmeliaP KCNC (talk) 14:14, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Mouse Trap

[edit]

WHAT? contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia??? Preventing the Mouse Trap page from being created is unfair and unjust, because it's an obscure legitimate avant-garde music genre. you all just have too normie tastes and ears to enjoy such music. And dont say ship like "its a meme genre" because on the Flex Entertainment Wiki page for Lil Staurt Little, it has the category "Serious Artists" so its serious. "contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia" my mother forking bass cheeks, you cant censor ship because its ship or you hate it. we all hate Hatler (at least i hope so) but we have an lengthy article for him, so Mouse trap should have an article even if you hate it or its "unlistenable". 92.40.215.51 (talk) 12:06, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Declined speedy deletion: Imad Jomaa

[edit]

Hi there, and thanks for all your help with NPP! I wanted to let you know that I've declined your G4 speedy deletion nomination of Imad Jomaa. In this case, the AfD was in 2019, and several sources provided were published since then, so the page is ineligible for G4. Payday Publishing Rename

Hi Wikishovel, The Subject's Official Name is Payday Music Publishing. Would you please rename/move the article to that? I have mistakenly renamed the redirect to that and can't fix it. Nonstopable (talk) 10:28, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nonstopable, happy to help with this, but according to this source you cited, it's actually called "Payday Publishing". Their website uses both. So this might need to go to a page move discussion, to work out what the WP:COMMONNAME is, rather than the technically correct name. Wikishovel (talk) 10:32, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Marking as patrolled

[edit]

Hi @Wikishovel! I've come across many patrol edits by you whilst reviewing at NPP recently! Thank you for helping with the backlog! I don't know whether it is intentional or not, however I notice you don't mark the articles you patrol as reviewed. Just thought I would flag it! I can see you have been a new page reviewer for a while, so I am sure you are quite familiar with the page curation tool! Thank you! 11WB (talk) 18:16, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thanks for that. I tend to focus on cleaning up promising pages, and let other reviewers decide whether they should be marked as reviewed. It's probably not an orthodox approach, but in a way, it feels like grading my own homework to tag a page I worked on as reviewed. When it's something super straightforward like a dab page, then yes, I will pretty consistently mark it as reviewed. Wikishovel (talk) 21:38, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply! That is definitely an interesting way to view it. As a new page reviewer, despite your feeling of it being like grading homework, the point of conducting these reviews is so that articles can be marked as such, this in turn allows them to be indexed on Google search and the original author notified that their article is approved for mainspace! 11WB (talk) 22:18, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

...for the notice. Could you please help me create a disambiguation page between Pedro de Paz (writer) and Pedro de Paz (soldier)? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the process. Baal Nautes (talk) 22:33, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Happy to help, but as there are only two articles, a disambiguation page isn't really needed. Instead, I've put a WP:HATNOTE at the top of Pedro de Paz, pointing out the second article. Wikishovel (talk) 22:36, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I see. How many similarly named articles are the minimum to create a disambiguation page? --Baal Nautes (talk) 22:42, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There's no fixed minimum number. But a disambiguation page is normally created if we expect it to grow, to avoid maintaining a long string of hatnotes at the top of several pages. Are there other notable people called Pedro de Paz? Wikishovel (talk) 22:49, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There is indeed another historical Spanish general named Pedro de Paz, but he has little notability and information about him is scarce, so I'm not planning to create an article. So, two Pedros de Paz for now. Baal Nautes (talk) 23:12, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Declined speedy deletion: Harry Sdraulig

[edit]

Hi there! I wanted to let you know that I've declined your G4 speedy deletion nomination of Harry Sdraulig. In this case, the linked AfD occurred in 2006. Given the numerous changes that have occurred on Wikipedia in that time, as well as the information on the page discussing the year 2013, the article is ineligible for G4. If you think Sdraulig is still non-notable, feel free to renominate for deletion via AfD. Take care, Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 13:32, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Significa liberdade: no, you're right, I missed the AFD date. I checked the Waybacked version of the article, and this was a single sentence about him winning something years ago. Sorry about that. Wikishovel (talk) 13:33, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Mammalian BAF Complex Page

[edit]

Hello there. I'm writing to you about mammalian BAF complex page. The heading should be "Mammalian SWI/SNF (BAF) Complex" but I couldn't change it. WikiBar35 (talk) 16:06, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm happy to help with this. Since IANAB (I am not a biologist), let me ask: what's the WP:COMMONNAME for the complex, rather than the technically correct name? Wikishovel (talk) 16:42, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for helping.
The name of the complex, SWItch/Sucrose Non-Fermentable (SWI/SNF), is the general term used across species (for more on this, please see the "History" section of the relevant page). SWI/SNF complexes are found in yeast, fruit flies, and mammalian cells. In mammals, however, the complex is commonly referred to as BAF, which stands for BRG1/BRM-associated factor.
Therefore, when we use the term BAF, we are specifically referring to the mammalian SWI/SNF complex. For this reason, the most appropriate heading would be:
"Mammalian SWI/SNF (BAF) Complex".
Currently, there is no term more widely accepted or commonly used than BAF to describe the mammalian form of the SWI/SNF complex. WikiBar35 (talk) 16:51, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. When I google for "Mammalian SWI/SNF (BAF) Complex", it seems to usually appear with a lowercase "c" for complex. This use of sentence case would also be consistent with Wikipedia's policy on using sentence case in article titles. So how about we move it to Mammalian SWI/SNF (BAF) complex? Wikishovel (talk) 16:58, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think that works!! WikiBar35 (talk) 17:09, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Removing an article from the stub rating

[edit]

Hello Wikishovel!

I'm sorry to contact you as there probably is someone in particular I should contact for these kind of issues, but being kind of a newbie on Wikipedia (been editing for four months or so) I don't really know who to turn to. Anyways, recently I translated and adapted a lot of text from the Italian version of Wikipedia to expand and complete the article about Pieve Emanuele, currently classified as a stub. I was wondering who to ask for the "promotion" of the article into an higher class of the scale, since it is now almost complete and it has all the sources. In my opinion, its definitely not anymore a stub.

Is there any way you could help me?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the bother.

Dre DrefromItaly (talk) 18:55, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dre, there's a helpful guideline on this over at WP:STUBLENGTH. It's definitely OK to remove the stub tag from Pieve Emanuele. And thank you very much for expanding the article. Wikishovel (talk) 21:13, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
My pleasure! So I just remove myself in the edit page the "Stub" template or I have to do something more? DrefromItaly (talk) 21:54, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That's it - you've done it correctly. Wikishovel (talk) 04:47, 5 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Randy, Arthur Webb

[edit]

I see where you say there’s nothing online about him. I’m very confused. Why you’re stating this there’s numerous numerous articles interviews everywhere for multiple media sources from video to press.? please explain to me why you’re not seeing these sources or checking the sources listed why is this page being discriminated against this is really starting to put in the entire integrity of Wikipedia. Thank you . Learningmyway (talk) 05:01, 5 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Yes, there are some articles online about him joining Saving Abel in June, but most of them are interviews, and interviews alone aren't the secondary coverage that Wikipedia's notability guidelines require for a separate article. Please have a read of WP:MUSICBIO: joining a notable band doesn't on its own doesn't make a musician notable. I couldn't find any significant, reliable, independent coverage of him, apart from his recent work with that band, but maybe you can? Thanks, Wikishovel (talk) 05:18, 5 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for responding , I really appreciate it.
I understand the concern about interviews, but in this case there’s more than just Q&As or announcement pieces. There are multiple independent articles and magazine features that go beyond that — Go Venue Magazine, Rock Documented, Rock News UK, and Ethereal Metalzine all published pieces that discuss Randy Arthur Webb’s background, performance, and role in Saving Abel from an editorial standpoint. They’re not connected to the band and count as independent secondary coverage.
Also, per WP:MUSICBIO (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:MUSICBIO), the subject meets the notability criteria as the lead vocalist of a multi-platinum, Billboard-charting act and through his earlier charting work with One Day Alive (their single “Bringing on the Pain” reached #13 on the SMR Active Rock chart).
These references and chart credits establish verifiable, independent coverage that goes beyond routine announcements. I’d like to kindly ask that the redirect be reconsidered or reviewed so the article can stand on its own again.
Thank you for your time . Learningmyway (talk) 05:24, 5 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You're very welcome. Let's keep this discussion in one place, maybe over at the article talk page is best. Wikishovel (talk) 05:25, 5 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Are you an administrator?

[edit]

The template is not necessary on the draft page that's being deleted and under what authority are you to tell me to "not delete it again"? Bhj867 (talk) 09:49, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The template is certainly necessary, as the original declined draft was created by an anonymous editor, then copied and pasted to main space. Under what authority are you blanking the draft, moving it to main space, and removing the merge template from the copied article? Wikishovel (talk) 09:51, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Under the authority of the person who created it accidentally when I am already an established user. Check the IP they match. You seem to be confused and wanting to follow me around harrasing me. Example: you flagged another one of my articles for deletion with flimsy reasoning. Bhj867 (talk) 09:56, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
please respond to the original question. Do you have the power to ban me from wp? Are you an administrator? Yes or no. Bhj867 (talk) 10:00, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, and editors don't need to be administrators to revert disruptive editing. You're free to report me at WP:ANI if you think I've breached the letter or spirit of any Wikipedia policies. But watch out for the boomerang. Wikishovel (talk) 10:02, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Requesting to speedily delete an accidental unfinished draft, under my own IP address before logging in, is not "disruptive editing". Mistakes happen. I saw you stated the draft "wasn't qualified for speedy deletion". What's your reasoning for that, and under what authority if you're not an administrator? If you continue to follow me around, bark orders at me and flagging my articles for deletion when I have solid sources, I will absolutely report you to WP:ANI because I view that as targeted bullying. I'm putting the speedy deletion tag back on the draft that I created. An admin (which you are not) can verify the IP which I will put in the notes. I have been editing wiki articles since 2007. The functionality of the site may have changed a bit, but not so much as to where I will tolerate demands from random users. How's that for a boomerang. Bhj867 (talk) 10:13, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome to add a db-author speedy tag to the draft, but please don't blank or move the draft again. Wikishovel (talk) 10:15, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
thank you. I will do that. Does your self proclaimed authority feel respected now? If you want to be an admin. Apply to be one. Have a good day.Bhj867 (talk) 10:22, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I'd rather have an arrow through my neck than be an admin, like most WP editors. That's why there's such a shortage of them. Wikishovel (talk) 10:25, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Good, because anyone who enjoys weilding power should never have it. Bhj867 (talk) 10:33, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I think an English name Ultra Supreme Elder Lord is better than the pinyin name "Daode Tianzun" which is not so convenient for westerners. Can you consider making Ultra Supreme Elder Lord the main article and redirect "Daode_Tianzun" to it ? I am working on the article and will add references later.

Futhermore, Ultra Supreme Elder Lord (太上老君) and The Heavenly Lord of Way and Virtue (道德天尊) do not always carry a same meaning in Taoist theology, maybe it is necessary to explain them respectively. AlphaOmega999 (talk) 09:58, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@AlphaOmega999: hello, and thanks for posting. Wikipedia doesn't allow two articles on the same topic, but if you think Ultra Supreme Elder Lord is a better title for the article, then you're welcome to propose renaming the existing article. It's a potentially controversial move, but that's OK: there are instructions on how to propose the change at Requesting controversial and potentially controversial moves. Please let me know if you have any questions about that process. Wikishovel (talk) 10:02, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, thanks for your reply.
In articles of other languages such as Chinese and Japanese, etc., they all use the name "太上老君" which literally means Ultra Supreme Elder Lord, rather than "Daode_Tianzun", so I think maybe using the English name Ultra Supreme Elder Lord is a better choice, and it is better for westerners' understanding. Could you help me to request renaming the article ? AlphaOmega999 (talk) 10:10, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm happy to help you propose the move. Please post the exact text here that you'd like me to use when posting the request. Wikishovel (talk) 10:12, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi,
What text do you need ? explain the reason ? or contents of the article ? If you need reason, that is:
The English name Ultra Supreme Elder Lord which is the literal meaning of "太上老君" may be a better article name for westerners' understanding, rather than a pinyin name "Daode_Tianzun", which may confuse westerners if they don't know Mandarin pinyin. Moreover, Wikipedia articles in other languages such as Chinese and Japanese all use "太上老君" as their article names, which literally means Ultra Supreme Elder Lord. Furthermore, Ultra Supreme Elder Lord (太上老君) and The Heavenly Lord of Way and Virtue (道德天尊) do not always carry a same meaning in Taoist theology, maybe it is necessary to explain them respectively. Therefore, can we make "Ultra Supreme Elder Lord" the main article name and redirect "Daode_Tianzun" to it, or rename the article "Daode_Tianzun" to "Ultra Supreme Elder Lord" ? AlphaOmega999 (talk) 10:39, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I see you've added the proposed move template at the article's talk page, thanks. I made one small technical correction to the template, hope you don't mind. Wikishovel (talk) 11:15, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Patty Mayo deletion

[edit]

You deleted this article without reference to me or waiting for a response. This is rather unwelcoming and discouraging of occasional contributors. The basis of deleting is meant to be that it is substantially similar to the deleted one. That seems not to be the case. I have submitted the draft for consideration, which seems to be the correct process. ~~~~ BallaratNation (talk) 12:15, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Just to explain, Wikishovel is not an administrator so they cannot delete pages, they can only request they are deleted. In this case, I declined the speedy deletion nomination because previously (now deleted) revisions of the article only cited YouTube; this one at least has a go at citing some third party sources. I'm still concerned about quality sourcing for biographies of living people, which is why I moved it to draft space so it can be worked on further. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:59, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I was only being general so as to not describe too much about him. It's just too much time to do so. R2025kt (talk) 13:04, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I cited from Taoist scriptures, those are most authentic sources, why do you still think the article does not cite any sources ? AlphaOmega999 (talk) 11:26, 10 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you've added helpful notes on the text from the Taoist scriptures, but you haven't provided any references yet for any of what's written. What's needed is secondary, independent sources. Would you like me to move the article to draft, while you develop it? Wikishovel (talk) 11:40, 10 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have added references to other websites including an authentic Taoist website, is that ok ? AlphaOmega999 (talk) 11:44, 10 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification on ChatGPT-Linked URLs in Content

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that some URLs include the parameter utm_source=chatgpt.com. That means those links or articles were likely generated or added using an AI LLM or . Should we remove that tracking parameter from the URLs, or would you prefer those articles to be rewritten to avoid any AI-sourced tag being visible? Just wanted to confirm the right approach. Bech07 (talk) 11:39, 12 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, please try searching for utm_source=chatgpt.com , you will see it appears in many sources and articles, and in the past.. I had already removed references that included this parameter, but now I’m noticing it has been used in several articles again. Bech07 (talk) 11:40, 12 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Patty Mayo

[edit]

Hi there! I wanted to let you know that I've declined your G4 speedy deletion nomination of Patty Mayo because the current article is not sufficiently similar to the one deleted via discussion in 2023. Specifically, the article contains two sources that were published after the deletion discussion closed. However, I doubt the current sourcing is enough to meet NBIO. If you think Patty Mayo is still non-notable, feel free to nominate for deletion via AfD. Thanks! Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 16:35, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Concern regarding my recent submission

[edit]

Hello @Wikishovel

I saw your recent comment regarding my submission for Saad Ur Rehman. I volunteer on Wiki on a side, I am a journalist and a researcher. This individual is a personality from Pakistan who recently has blown up the internet following his arrest, and based on Google Analysts, more then 20 million people have searched about him online and there are hundreds of independent sources online about him, and it clearly show's the subject is notable to have a Wikipedia article, and I volunteered to create it so that all the people searching about him, can land to his wiki to know about him and the ongoing issue ( the legal and arrest section ) since that is What Wikipedia is all about, gathering factual information and gathering it up so it helps individuals know everything at one place rather then scattering through different article's online and reading and second guessing what is true and what not.

I would like and appreciate if you could redo the article, I can say with full confidence that the subject is notable enough, and the article aligns with the Wiki Guidelines for Biographies of Living Individuals. ChronoTexts (talk) 18:11, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, as I posted at your user talk page, there is already a draft article about him at Draft:Ducky Bhai, and you're most welcome to improve it and re-submit it for review. Wikishovel (talk) 18:19, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Citations

[edit]

Hello! Since you added the Unreferenced template to my new article List of artists from Mecklenburg, I'd like to ask about the policy for lists. I'm of the general understanding that list articles do not require citations if the information on them is cited in the linked/listed articles, this seems to be pretty common on Wikipedia. In the same vein for example see: List of German artists, List of Russian artists, List of Guyanese artists; other such articles only list very few sources to a point where they are basically non-existent, examples in the same topic include: List of Latin American artists, List of artists from Lebanon. Most other lists, including those of political parties and people by nationality in general for example, seem to follow this same scheme.
Thus I'd like to ask: What is the policy on this? Is my assumption correct? And if not, there are probably hundreds of list articles with this issue. Frijfuhs (talk) 02:36, 28 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Frijfuhs, and thanks for starting that list. That's an excellent question, because you're right, there are many unsourced stand-alone list articles on Wikipedia. But as WP:LISTVERIFY notes, list articles must be reasonably referenced like any article on Wikipedia. I'd be happy to help you find sources for the Mecklenburg list, if you like. Wikishovel (talk) 02:42, 28 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying and the quick reply! I'm sure I'll be able to find sources easily since they're (typically) cited on the linked page, I of course wouldn't mind if you want to help though :) Frijfuhs (talk) 02:47, 28 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I wanted people to see Frankie Sardo's discography as well as his filmography. On my old account, Tyrell Sunday. My sources include discogs.com, IMDb, and Rotten Tomatoes.
