Speedy deletion nomination of Bianca Mayer

[edit]

Hello, Moondragon21

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Bianca Mayer for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Limitations of Earwig

[edit]

Hi, I thought I would leave a note, rather than derailing the current DYK discussion. The DYK reviewer instructions say that The Earwig tool can be helpful for detecting direct plagiarism, but it will not catch close paraphrasing [or translations] and only checks certain types of sources; manual spot-checks should also be carried out. (I don't know how many DYK editors do any additional spot checks.) I would recommend WP:NOTEARWIG for a short explanation of what the Earwig tool can and can't do. It's a userspace essay, so it isn't easy to find. TSventon (talk) 23:37, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback on Philippine Biographies

[edit]

Good Day. I have read some of your articles on Philippine representatives and I have observed that they conflict with the guidelines set by the WP:Manual of Style. For a general guide writing these articles, as well as composition, here is a sample article that you can check for your reference. Note the other reminders in the sandbox's appendix. Please do reflect on this reminder as the errors I saw reflect a history of deviations from the Manual of Style that went on to degrade articles of this sort. It may be widespread, but it does not make it correct. There is room for improvement and with better care you can go on to make stronger, more effective contributions here in Wikipedia. Notice

The article Park Sung-joon (politician) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There are no reliable sources on this article about a politician, it’s a stub and have few links to other articles, I didn’t find enough significant coverage.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thank you for creating a new page. One thing I will suggest is that the biography ends with a quote, but you haven't provided a source for it. It's essential on Wikipedia per WP:BLP that anything we attribute as a living person's words has a source on it. If you are translating a foreign page word-for-word, either look for a source for that quote, or if you can't find it, leave it out of the English page. Remember that other Wikipedia have far less traffic and far fewer users, so issues like this may be overlooked compared to here. But great work nonetheless. Unknown Temptation (talk) 16:01, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Nina Poon (September 3)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by RangersRus was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Women legislators in WA State

[edit]

Hello Moondragon,

I wanted to say I admire all the work you do on creating all the legislators, esp. in regards to the Women in Red project. I wanted to give you a list that you may be interested in helping out with. I came across @W.stanovsky page and they have a pretty decent size list of female WA legislators that need articles created for them. I've worked through a good amount, but some are a bit more tricky they may be orphan articles, or a single source one as well.

Wanted to pass the list over and see if you were interested in helping out. If you do, it will also help with the 20,000 challenge for the PNW because I want WA to finally hit its 1,000 goal.

Thanks for the work that you do! Bpuddin (talk) 05:09, 5 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Also wanted to add this link to help with predecessors and successors.

Thank you so much. I can definitely take a look at that. Moondragon21 (talk) 07:43, 5 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I hope my list is helpful! When I created it, I tried to capture every past woman who had served in the WA legislature but didn't have a Wiki bio yet, based on the list in the 1983 "Political Pioneers" book on the Legislature's website. So hopefully the list is pretty comprehensive at least up to 1983.
Note that I also have a subpage with Wikitext for a stub template for these articles, including the History Link-specific citation template; perhaps you'll find it useful. User:W.stanovsky/WAWomenLeg Thanks for your work! W.stanovsky (talk) 19:51, 5 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by TheBritinator was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Sources still don't prove notability. Mere passing mentions.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
