User talk:NeoGaze

Recently you rejected the draft Draft:George Galanopoulos (basketball). However, the same user who created that draft created the page George Galanopoulos (basketball coach) before then in an identical manner, suggesting that this page should not still be in the mainspace. Presumably, they waited until they no longer had to do it as a draft. Sushidude21! (talk) 06:43, 7 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for notifying me, and indeed that is kind of annoying, as it dowplays the efforts of the AFC. That basketball coach still seems to not be notable enough. I have slightly improved it and added a notability template, but that is as far as I will go now. If you think more drastic action is needed, you may redraft the article or even nominate for deletion (this one should be the last resort, all things considered). In the end, submitting drafts to the AFC is optional, and we can't really punish users who bypass it (I'm not even sure it would be convenient to do so in the long term). Best wishes! I need someone to review a draft for me

[edit]

at Greenstreet I have no one Sunny's Highway 27(Maxwell Jacquin) 22:31, 14 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I made some improvements, but I still think the place has no notability, and thus its doomed to fail as an article. NeoGaze (talk) 09:21, 15 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
what are some points that make the article non-notable Sunny's Highway 27(Maxwell Jacquin) 20:37, 15 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Notability is not inherent to any topic just by existing, otherwise everything would be notable and deserving of an article. This also applies to locations and settlements. Most of the references in the drafts are maps and statistics, which don't show notability. The place would be notable, for example, if it was the origin of some notable people, if some important event took place there, if it has a substantial history, etc. All of this covered by reliable and independent sources. NeoGaze (talk) 21:06, 15 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
then the mass redrafting begins Sunny's Highway 27(Maxwell Jacquin) 21:13, 15 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that's a good idea, you're going to get blocked again if you keep pushing this draft. NeoGaze (talk) 22:02, 15 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

August music

[edit]
story · music · places

Today's story - short version: ten years ago we had a DYK about a soprano who sang in concerts with me in the choir, - longer: I found today a youtube of an aria she sang with us then, recorded the same year, - if you still have time: our performances were the weekend before the Iraq war ultimatum, and we sang Dona nobis pacem (and the drummer drummed!) as if they could hear us in Washington. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:01, 18 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Check out my talk for an Independence day, or: the pic of Oksana Lyniv was taken on 24 August. There's listening and reading in today's story, and I like both. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:14, 24 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

On top of my talk: birthday of a great violinist and Requiem for a great friend. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:11, 31 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

My Artist Userboxes

[edit]

Thanks for your edits adding my userbox pages to Category:Artist fan user templates. I reversed what you settled on though, since the page you added displays all the userboxes I have created. I added templates to display the variations on my Arists userbox, and added the category on that page instead. That should be more helpful to any users exploring this category, because I have some unrelated userboxes on my main Userboxes hub. Just wanted to reach out and explain what I did since I reversed both of your edits! TNstingray (talk) 19:11, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I initially tried to put the category on the page dedicated to the artist userboxes, but they didn't appear, so I went for what seemed the best alternative (I didn't want to edit your page). NeoGaze (talk) 21:23, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Template categorization in noinclude tags

[edit]

Please note that per template categorization guidelines, the category wikitext for templates goes inside a pair of <noinclude>...</noinclude> tags. Example: Special:Diff/1307405760. —andrybak (talk) 12:50, 23 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, all my userboxes already include these tags. Do you mention this for another reason? NeoGaze (talk) 15:23, 23 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Because your previous edits to some user templates added categorization incorrectly: Special:Diff/1307222839, Special:Diff/1307222777, Special:Diff/1307222826. —andrybak (talk) 17:58, 23 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, sorry then. I didn't realise. Thanks for fixing my mistake! NeoGaze (talk) 20:34, 23 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Review questions

[edit]

Thank you for your review of my article (Draft:Antoine Guenet)! I've addressed the dead links and one of the three verification fails but have questions regarding the remaining two. I hope this is the right place for that. If not, please disregard this message.

For the first verification fail (Brussels Philharmonic), the link mentions the band and its lineup at that date is known from the album releases that are verified elsewhere. However if the musicians have to be mentioned by name, I can't find such a source. Should I remove the mention of that collaboration altogether?

For the second (Univers Zéro - Phosphorescent Dreams), I'm a little bit confused that it failed verification since the link says (in biography):

"In July 2013 the lineup of Denis, Budé, Evers, keyboardist Antoine Guenet (the Wrong Object, SH.TG.N), and guitarist Nicolas Dechêne (Turlu Tursu), plus selected guests, entered Studio Dingo in Soignies, Belgium to record the 13th Univers Zero album, Phosphorescent Dreams."

What am I missing?

Thank you very much, again for the review, and in advance for your help. Xunston (talk) 21:12, 28 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, good job so far! About the first verification fail, it would be enough if you just reused the reference with the information of that album, as I see it mentions the performers. About the second verification, the issue is that the source doesn't explicity state that Antoine Guenet contributed to the album "Phosphorescent Dreams". You can use the Allmusic page of that album in order to support that statement. Probably I should have commented on that issue when I did my review in order to be clearer.
Hope I have been helpful, thank you for your quick work. NeoGaze (talk) 21:36, 28 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Great thank you, it was very helpful. I applied your remarks then, I hope it's satisfactory now. Xunston (talk) 09:11, 30 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Great, seems like everything is alright you should resubmit it then. NeoGaze (talk) 14:31, 30 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Great thanks, it's done :) Xunston (talk) 15:18, 30 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry if you're not the person to ask, but does this restart the whole waiting process to get someone to review again, or are you allowed to review again to simply check that I applied the requested changes?
Thanks! Xunston (talk) 15:11, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I usually don't rereview drafts, but I can do an exception for you. I have a question before: Do you have a conflict of interest with the subject? I say so because because of the COI template dated July 2025. If that is the case, you should disclose it in your user page or in the draft's talk page. NeoGaze (talk) 17:26, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that's very nice! I do and I disclosed it the way Wikipedia asked to when creating the draft, it appears below your review. Is that what you're referring to? I added it to the draft's talk page in any case. Xunston (talk) 18:47, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah completely passed over it, the draft has been reviewed and accepted. If possible you should add wikilinks to articles that mention this person, if there are any. NeoGaze (talk) 19:00, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks, I'll look into that! Xunston (talk) 19:26, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

David Rendall

[edit]

Hi NeoGaze,

I am Elizabeth, David Rendall's first daughter from his first marriage and I wanted to inform you that David Rendall had two children to his first wife. I've found that the Times Obituary confirms this: https://groups.io/g/crusting-pipe/topic/david_rendall_obituary/114546010

Please can you change "a daughter" to "two children" with this source? Thank you for your help with the article. Elizabethrendall (talk) 23:32, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Elizabeth, nice to meet you. A quick question: is the content of that mail the same as in The Times obituary? If that is the case, then I will gladly upate the article myself. Unfortunately I cannot access the article as I don't have a premium account. NeoGaze (talk) 12:49, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi NeoGaze, yes it is the same. Here is the Times link, although you need a subscription to read it. https://www.thetimes.com/uk/obituaries/article/david-rendallo-obituary-talented-tenor-discovered-in-bbc-back-room-tgmjjf76w?gclsrc=aw.ds
Thanks again. Elizabethrendall (talk) 20:05, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Another editor already changed that part as you requested, so I merely added the obituary as a reference. NeoGaze (talk) 21:40, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

That AFC Post

Did you look at that AFC post that was just boxed? I think that the poster may be either a hard-shelled fruit or a threaded metallic fastener. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:52, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I saw it after waking up, kind of amusing to see. I tried to come to reason with him in his talk page after he started accusing me, but that didn't work out. Well, hopefully he will focus on something else now. NeoGaze (talk) 21:26, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have just reviewed the draft, check my feedback. NeoGaze (talk) 15:35, 9 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Look, i finally discovered that the draft article for Mediawan's unit Chapter 2 had been declined once again, maybe that it's time that the draft article would be deleted for good? 82.6.137.98 (talk) 08:46, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Don't give up yet! I suggest you search for sources that talk about the company directly an that are substantial, independent and reliable. The sources that are present in the draft point towards notability, but are mostly incidental. If you can find them, I think the draft has a high chance of being approved. Its not necessary they are available online, or only in English. You can add sources in French for example, where I guess there is a higher chance of more coverage on the company. NeoGaze (talk) 11:44, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's no use actually, in fact the draft article wasn't upgraded ever since it was declined again for a second time and no one hasn't updated the draft article for Chapter 2. I'm sorry but I think it's time that the draft article should be deleted. 82.6.137.98 (talk) 10:21, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@NeoGaze I almost forgot to tell ya: thanks! Tokeamour (talk) 20:55, 20 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Here's my feedback about the issues I found.
  • Second opening paragraph need citations, in particular this phrase: "Founded as Cheyenne Mountain District Twelve (D12), it graduated its first class in 1872."
  • A citation for extracurricular activities should also be added in the following pharagraph.
  • Reference 12 leads to Kiddle, which is a service that in turns leads to Wikipedia itself, which is this one. It is not acceptable to have wikipedia itself as a reference, but you may use references from that article to support the statement.
  • The phrase "Cheyenne Mountain High School, had been of increasing controversy because of its use of the Cheyenne Mountain Indian mascot" is extremely awkward. I suggest rephrasing it to something like: "The Cheyenne Mountain Indian is the mascot of the High School, which has been the subject of increasing controversy".
  • A citation is needed for the following: "Limited due to the COVID−19 pandemic (2019–2023), a group of students gathered to protest at the high school parking lot during a school board meeting taking place at night."
  • In the awards section, a reference is needed to verify that the high school is indeed recipient of the National Blue Ribbon School. The reference that is found after the following two phrases also do not seem to support the previous statements: (The 2024 U.S News & World Report high school rankings listed Cheyenne Mountain as #849 in its National Rankings and #24 in its Colorado High School Rankings. It was also rated the #1 school in Colorado, by Niche.com in 2023.)
  • Another citation is needed for the The minimum graduation requirements in the next section.
  • The opening statement of the "Athletics" section (Cheyenne Mountain has offered athletic programs since 1916.) isn't actually supported by the citation.
  • The source of the following phrase (As of 2025, the school offered 28 varsity sport teams.) has a dead link. Thankfully it has been archived.
  • The same happens to reference 25 in athletics. It has been archived as well
  • In the alumni section, citations are needed for Todd Gilles, Matt Darwin, Brandon McCarthy, Dave Mlicki and Floyd K. Lindstrom (you can reuse one of the previous references for the latter)
  • The source for Brandon Mroz is completely dead, and it has not been archived. I recommend you subtitute for a working one it if possible. The same goes for Steve Johnson
  • The source of Alex Shibutani doesn't mention the high school at all, and the same for Johann Sebastian Paetsch.
NeoGaze (talk) 09:56, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well then, I will address the issues! Tokeamour (talk) 18:31, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@NeoGaze How do I address the US World one as I cant cite it but its there? Tokeamour (talk) 18:56, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@NeoGaze Green tickY Apart from problems with linking US News & World Report your ideas are done feel free to take a look and be bold and discredit me for missing one. Tokeamour (talk) 19:28, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Here's more of my feedback after your changes, pretty good job so far! A few of the previous issues were not adressed, so I will repeat them just in case.
  • In the infobox, the source of the Principal Carrie Brenner has a dead link, which couldn't be recovered.
  • In the awards section, a reference is needed to verify that the high school is indeed recipient of the National Blue Ribbon School, not only the John Irwin School of Excellence.
  • To support or modify the following statement (The 2024 U.S News & World Report high school rankings listed Cheyenne Mountain as #849 in its National Rankings and #24 in its Colorado High School Rankings. It was also rated the #1 school in Colorado, by Niche.com in 2023.) you can use this report I found as a source.
  • I still suggest you find a better source for the following statement (Cheyenne Mountain has offered athletic programs since the 20th century), as the source doesn't say when the program actually began.
  • In the alumni section, citations are still needed for Todd Gilles.
I think that will be all. Also I have made some edits to improve some things myself. NeoGaze (talk) 20:41, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
