[edit]Request for Draft Review: (Hindu Goddess of Nepal)
[edit]Request for Review
[edit]Hello Theroadislong, and other experienced editors,
I am developing this article on Taleju Bhawani , a historically significant Hindu goddess in Nepalese culture, especially known as the royal deity of the Malla dynasty. Despite her cultural and religious importance, there is currently no English Wikipedia article about her as a goddess.
I have used reliable sources, including academic works like Nepal Mandala by Mary Slusser, and respected news outlets. I would greatly appreciate your feedback on whether this draft meets Wikipedia's notability, sourcing, and neutrality guidelines.
Thank you for your time and help!

[edit]There is an active, and somewhat lengthy, discussion with an editor regarding their draft, currently the most recent thread. I think it would benefit form fresh eyes. I may have become tunnel visioned in it. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 08:36, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
- I see that you commented on the draft before I asked for your assistance. The creating editor appears to be reading the words I have offered in guidance but failing to see that they apply to his draft. I suspect that English, while a familiar language, is not his native tongue, and subtleties of expression may be lost in translation. Nuances of phraseology lead me to this thought. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 09:12, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for warning them. I have tagged you in this discussion

AfC question
[edit]Hi Theroadislong. Are you still active as an AfC reviewer? Could you take a look at Draft:Megan Lockhurst if you are? I'm not asking you to review it per se, but the draft has been declined several times and subequently resubmitted shortly thereafter each time. Since the draft's creator removes the decline template and associated comments each time they resubmit, subsequent reviewers might not be aware that the draft has been already submitted and declined. Just earlier today, for example, the draft was twice reviewed and twice declined by the same reviewer within a 90-minute period. I'm not too familiar with how AfC works, but I was under the impression that decline templates were supposed to be left as is until the draft in question is accepted. I don't think the creator is trying to game anything; my guess is that they just don't know any better. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:54, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @Marchjuly Yes, the earlier AfC declines and comments must remain until the draft is accepted. I've restored them, and dropped a note to this effect on the author's home page.
- Incidentally, this draft was first created ten years ago by a different user... or possibly same user, under a different account... Mlockhurst, and has been declined a few more times than what is currently in the rev history. It has been G13'd twice. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:13, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you DoubleGrazing for looking into this. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:10, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
Help review
[edit]Hi @Theroadislong, I hope I haven’t missed any of your comments. After your feedback on my draft, I’ve rewritten and made some edits. I’d like to make sure everything is good, and I’m open to making further adjustments if needed. I hope to receive your feedback on the article titled "Draft:Vietcombank Fund Management Company Limited". Linvn100 (talk) 02:11, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
I am curious why you don't consider sources such as this one substantial coverage in reliable independent sources? FloridaArmy (talk) 12:04, 2 August 2025 (UTC)
Hi, when you comment "we don't use any external links in the body of an article.", which links do you refer to? HSCNU2402 (talk) 13:42, 4 August 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, thank you for the feedback. I’m wondering why Latvian outlets such as TVNET, Delfi or Apollo, which are considered national news sources, do not count as reliable independent sources. Some of them feature interviews and profiles. Could you clarify what kind of depth or focus would meet the notability criteria? Also there is Apollo article about her which includes life facts about her, not just mentioning her. Additionally, I included a University of Kent blog that confirms her academic credentials. While it is not in-depth, doesn’t it meet the reliable source test as confirmation of education? Ieva Ose (talk) 17:03, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- Interviews are not reliable, independent sources neither are blogs or profiles. Theroadislong (talk) 18:56, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- Then what is it? Ieva Ose (talk) 19:29, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry but your question doesn't make sense? Theroadislong (talk) 19:47, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- Are you asking whether my question makes sense? Either way, thank you for your super helpful answers! Ieva Ose (talk) 19:55, 6 August 2025 (UTC)

Follow up on Draft: Estilo Boutique
[edit]Hi -
Thanks for your feedback on Draft:Estilo Boutique. As I am trying to learn the protocol here, could you be more specific about what makes this article blatant advertising in your experienced opinion? Is it the Recognitions? I added those because they had references to new sites and magazine publications (not blogs) so thought that it showed the relevance of the brand in general. Otherwise, I have listed factual information from references (which I need to update in their formatting). But I want to make sure that I address your comments correctly. BeneathTheBrand (talk) 22:18, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- It tells us everything that the company would like us to know about them and that is NOT what Wikipedia articles do, they summarise what independent, reliable sources have reported. Your comment that "I think it's important for the business to be historically documented" clearly indicates that you do not understand how Wikipedia works. Theroadislong (talk) 06:54, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
You are inspiring
[edit]A rainbow for you'I was ready to give up , I want to Thank You for making some corrections to my page thus far! [edit]Hi!
This is the link to the draft. Draft:Shelby Mackay
It is facing issues while being posted. Please help me. Let me know that if I add ventmagazines link as a notible resource. Will it work for Shelby Mackay, a musician. Moreover! Do you consider medium posts a a notible resource or not? Imrankazim (talk) 16:53, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
- I have no idea what "ventmagazines" and "medium posts" are they need to be reliable. Theroadislong (talk) 16:58, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
- By Nadeem Ramari - company vice.Year: 2025 Container: Ventsmagazine.com URL: https://ventsmagazine/2025/08/10/discovering-shelby-mackay-the-canadian-artist-who-made-me-listen-differently/
- I noticed the website ventsmagazine has been blacklisted....I have contacted the site and their sister site . The author had no idea- they have many talent agents contact them with press releases . Very bad news for them

- neither of the sources are usable, Wikipedia requires in depth coverage in reliable and independent sources. Theroadislong (talk) 21:08, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
- and even if the Ventsmagazine wasn't blacklisted, press releases are not independent sources, so contribute zero notability. Theroadislong (talk) 21:12, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
- Will medium link work for Shelby Mackay Article. Imrankazim (talk) 21:14, 10 August 2025 (UTC)

- On EXCLAIM! List which is in my personal opinion Canada's rolling stone.
- https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exclaim! Jacquelinelove (talk) 23:52, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Jaqueline. I'll admit to being a little confused as to why I was selected to provide input on this, but since I am here, this is my read: I'm not sure whether Exclaim! would hit the threshold of and WP:RS in general: it's circulation is not huge, but that's not an outright disqualifier so much as an indication of whether it is likely to have the kinds of qualities we expect in an RS, such as professional and reliable editorial controls and independence from the subjects it covers. But assuming for the moment it is an RS, it appears to me from indicators in the discussion above, that you are hoping it can be used to help establish the WP:Notability of Shelby Mackay. And I'm afraid its not going to be useful in that respect to demonstrate that the artist has been featured on Exclaim's playlist, or hit a certain threshold in popularity. Sources which establish notability are those which contain non-trivial, detailed discussion of the subject in a relevant context. These listings do not really accomplish that, I am afraid. If I've mis-interpreted the feedback being sought here, let me know and I will comment further, but that's as much insight as I can provide based on what I can divine from available clues about what is being sought after here. [edit]Thank you for the quick response. Changes: Including the PR release was a dumb oversight. I replaced it with the official Congress.gov record of the legislation passing both houses. I assume that's secondary and verifiable. As for the two self-references, those are actually from the National Eagle Center's bio of Preston Cook, not from his own book(s). I changed them to reflect that, which should be ok, according to the guide you directed me to. I hope these changes are sufficient. You didn't mention anything else. Is that a good sign??
