Question from PoliSci0417 on User:PoliSci0417/Social contract/Bibliography (14:43, 8 October 2025)
[edit]Hi, how do I actually start my bibliography...where do I start typing my citations into? --PoliSci0417 (talk) 14:43, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi PoliSci0417. Students participating in Wiki Ed assisted courses like Wikipedia:Wiki_Ed/Saint_Joseph's_University/Introduction_to_Political_Thought_(Fall_2025) are given access to special materials geared to helping them with any issues they might be having related to editing Wikipedia and their course. Each course also tends to have one or more Wiki Ed advisors assigned to it, and these advisors specialize in helping students like yourself. Your course's advisors are Ian (Wiki Ed) and Helaine (Wiki Ed), and I'm sure either Ian or Helaine should be able to help you with your bibliography. Just post a message on either one's user talk page (just pick one because posting on both might cause confusion and redundant responses) pretty much just like you did when posting here on my user talk page and ask you question. Good luck. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:17, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from Historyguy58 (23:44, 8 October 2025)
[edit]Hello. How do you add pictures to pages. Also I was thinking about making a page about a military general that doesn’t have a page yet. Any tips? --Historyguy58 (talk) 23:44, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Historyguy58. You can find out more about how to add images to Wikipedia pages at Wikipedia:Image use policy. However, it's important to remember that while images can be nice and help fill out a Wikipedia article, they're not required and plenty of articles don't have any images at all. Since you stated you're interested in creating a page about a military general, the most important thing is going to be to establish that the general meets Wikipedia:Notability (people) (more specifically Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Notability guide) because any article you try to create is going to have a hard time avoiding deletion if the subject is not considered to be Wikipedia notable regardless of how well written it is or how many images it contains. For more details about creating images about military officers, you might want to ask at Wikipedia talk: WikiProject Military History because that's where you're more likely to find Wikipedians who are familiar with how to create such articles. In the meantime, I will add some general information to your Wikipedia user talk page. The information I add will contain (blue) links to various Wikipedia information pages where you can find out more about Wikipedia. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:22, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from Diksisarkas (13:14, 15 October 2025)
[edit]Hi --Diksisarkas (talk) 13:14, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Diksisarkas. Do you have a question about Wikipedia? -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:20, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
how do i make an article --Sophiaive (talk) 21:46, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Sophiaive. There's some general information in Wikipedia:Article, Help:Your first article, Wikipedia:Articles for creation and Wikipedia:The answer to life, the universe, and everything, but only subjects meeting Wikipedia:Notability are, in principle, considered OK to try and create articles about. I will add some more information about Wikipedia to you user talk page. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:30, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
