Page swapping

Hey, thank you for your message. 75% of the time, I do page swaps, and I always do them if there is history that is not just trivial. However, the two pages I moved this morning both had untrivial history and so it was just better to do a fresh redirect and request deletion of the new one. When I have done this, it has always been fine, so I am genuinely so surprised why it was rejected. Also, WP:SWAP does not say anything about making everything messy. The mess I was referring to was the extra steps of having to nominate pages for deletion rather than just not having those pages exist in the first place (in this particular instance, the "mess" was the back-and-forth with an admin who clearly thought the history was worth keeping). I'm not sure why you feel a "fresh redirect" is more useful than a page with existing history, but that's a different discussion.
