Philosophy

I'm an advocate for Mergism and believe fancruft is one of the very few ways one can waste time on Wikipedia, particularly in content related to video games; there are more appropriate venues for such content. In my view, several Wikipedia processes, like ANI, are basically broken for anything involving authority figures. I have a high tolerance for editors who need support and little-to-no tolerance for any who consistently lack self-awareness. |
Content focuses

My work typically focuses on high-traffic, low-quality articles. I work better alone but have collaborated on projects meeting that description. My preference is to completely overhaul extensive articles, reincorporating useful material from high-quality sources, but largely writing everything from scratch. Sometimes I make edits that are too big and too bold—in these cases, other editors have quite rightly told me to get back to my sandbox. While I typically work on a single project at a time, my attention span is, in practice, very short. This means my selected topics vary wildly. As a general principle, my projects can generally be traced to my academic background in English literature and classics, or my personal interest in video games. I will state once, on the record, that I have access to most academic content libraries (e.g., Newspapers.com, WL, JSTOR, MUSE) and don't play League of Legends. At this time, I cannot be stopped, primarily because you people keep saying or sending nice things. |
