Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Yelps, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page Alvania ignota did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations verified in reliable, reputable print or online sources or in other reliable media. Always provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.
If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to The Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Again, welcome! Warriorglance (talk) 08:47, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
[edit] Hello Yelps! Your additions to Fenimorea abscondita have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § Licensing.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 15:20, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- that was copyrighted content? My bad, didn't know it was copyrighted. I'll try to improve and see my sources properly when making later edits. Thank you.Yelps (talk) 17:10, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
Not a lot
[edit]You don't really have a lot of userboxes. You should see my user-page! Leonardo da vin :D (talk|contrib.) 16:33, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- I'm still adding them, it's a work in progress, planning to add more "joke" userboxes and statistics userboxes. And you have all those userboxes because you actively make more, right? Yelps (talk) 16:44, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, @Yelps! I suggest looking into any userbox galleries to find more. Or you can look into my userboxes at User:Leonardo da vin/Userboxes, or you can learn to make some at WP:UBX and then make them at WP:UBXM. Leonardo da vin :D (talk|contrib.) 16:09, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Spooky Month moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Spooky Month, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. CUPIDICAE❤️ 19:07, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
- actually, I think it's best if the page simply was deleted instead, I made the page because simple English wikipedia apparently had a page on it. But right after I made that, I learned about WP:BFDI and saw that spooky month basically fits all the points the essay had on BFDI not on wikipedia, oops! Yelps :) talk 06:35, 16 March 2025 (UTC)
Speed deletions
[edit]Hello Yelps! I noticed that you had tagged Monika vs FNAF!? for speedy deletion. While I do agree that the article is unfit for Wikipedia, the criteria for speedy deletion are strict and well-defined, and your reason for tagging the article was not among them. Hence, I have removed the tagging from the page. The page, as it stands, does meet the criterion A7 (no indication of significance: web content); but the article cannot yet be tagged for it since earlier discussions between Wikipedia users have determined that newly-made articles (under one hour old) should not be tagged for deletion under A7 (and some other speedy deletion criteria) to give the article author a chance to improve on the page. I urge you to go through the speedy deletion policy and understand the criteria before engaging in further taggings. Thank you, and happy editing! JavaHurricane 15:06, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
- I perfectly know that, just was in a hurry and couldn't type the entire thing. Sorry! Yelps :) talk 15:30, 23 March 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Yelps, just wanted to let you know that your signature doesn't link to your talk page- assuming that's a error. Best, Sarsenet•he/they•(talk) 01:52, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for pointing that out, seems like I forgot to put a single bracket. But now my signature is unnaturally dark on my talk page while it is perfectly fine on other talk pages... Yelps :/ critique me 05:40, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- That typically happens with custom signatures for some reason- it changes color/darkens like after you click on a link elsewhere on WP. I'm not a signature expert, maybe ask at Wikipedia talk:Signature tutorial or the Teahouse? Sarsenet•he/they•(talk) 11:01, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of Sunny Bunnies
[edit]The article Sunny Bunnies you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article needs changes or clarifications to meet the good article criteria. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Sunny Bunnies and Talk:Sunny Bunnies/GA1 for issues which need to be addressed. - this is verbatim copy, the book is public domain but the translation likely isn't.
- Diffs like this and this are incredibly close paraphrasing. The latter is at least CC licensed, but there is no attribution.
- If you don't know if something is copyrighted, you should not be pasting it into a Wikipedia article. REAL_MOUSE_IRL talk 11:19, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello mouse, if that's copyrighted, then you might want to check out my oldest contribs where I was particularly active in expanding gastropod articles, I fear I might have a lot of copyvio edits on my name (don't block me for that tho, I was new at that time and I have changed). Since I got two copyright warnings now, i'll stop adding anything on gastropod pages, I don't edit them often now anyways. Thanks. Yelps ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ critique me
