Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Whpq (talk) 18:04, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

[edit]

Please help me with... Hello!

I've been working on improving a Wikipedia article for a bit of time now (I haven't been here long, but I've made a sizeable amount of edits per the article's failed good article assessment), and I was wondering if it could be upgraded from C-Class to B-Class. I was told at the teahouse that anybody could change the assessment as they saw fit, but I'm worried about bias since I'm the one who made these changes and therefore want a second opinion. The article is Baldwin IV of Jerusalem for reference. Please tell me if I'm good to go in terms of increasing the class, and anything I can improve, regardless of class, as well!

Thank you! Reverosie (talk) 17:13, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You can make a request at Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikipedia/Assessment#Assessment requests. You might also consider asking the editor who did the GA review at Talk:Baldwin IV of Jerusalem/GA1. -- Whpq (talk) 17:27, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! I also noticed that you happen to be my mentor, so thank you again for looking out for me! Reverosie (talk) 17:28, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Baldwin & Runciman

[edit]

The year in the {{sfn}} has to match the year in the citation template. So for Runciman, Steven (1989) [1952]. The Kingdom of Jerusalem and the Frankish East, 1100–1187. A History of the Crusades. Vol. II. Cambridge University Press. ISBN 978-0-521-06163-6. you need to use 1989 inside the sfn, not 1952. HHope this helps! DuncanHill (talk) 20:05, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much!! I managed to fix this by copying the working citation from another article :) Reverosie (talk) 20:07, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You've fixed the ISBN date problem, but broken the links between the {{sfn}} and the citation template. I'll show you what needs to be done. DuncanHill (talk) 20:11, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! I didn't mean to break it. Your help would be much appreciated since I'm still new to these things Reverosie (talk) 20:11, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That's OK, sfn references can be hard to get right. If you look at this edit you'll see that I changed 1952 in the sfn to 1989, to match the year in the citation template. This fixes the no-target errors that the mismatch of years had caused. DuncanHill (talk) 20:15, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That makes a lot of sense, thank you so much for the help! Reverosie (talk) 20:16, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

[edit]

Please help me with... Hello!

First of all, I'm sorry if this is very similar to my last question; I'm new to Wikipedia and still trying to learn as much as I can! I already posted this at the teahouse, but it's been nearly 4 hours without a reply, so I'm wondering if I could get an answer this way instead :)

I was curious about the process of promoting articles from B-Class to Good Article status, and have a few questions about it:

1. If an article fails a nomination, how much time do you have to wait before it can be nominated again? 2. How much time do you have to fulfill requests by a reviewer before said reviewer fails you? I'm worried about this because of my own schedule 3. How long does the process of review take in the first place, and how rigorous is it? How many nominated articles usually pass? 4. What's the difference between a good article and an A-Class article in the first place? Which rating is "higher"? 5. Most importantly of all, is the article I've been preparing ready to be nominated? Why or why not? The article is Baldwin IV of Jerusalem as I've said earlier (sorry again!)

Thank you so much in advance, and if this question is too similar to the last one, please let me know! Reverosie (talk) 21:47, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Reverosie. It looks like your question at the Teahouse was answered. Would it be okay with you if the {{help me}} template is nullified now? 🌳 Balsam Cottonwood (talk) āœ 06:08, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

You have been trouted for: I just want to see what trouting someone looks like Reverosie (talk) 15:11, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Things

[edit]

In Baldwin IV of Jerusalem it says but it was captured and destroyed by Saladin after two previous to the sultan. Something is missing. I am not qualified to do a full review but I made some minor changes. Polygnotus (talk) 18:24, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You're absolutely right! The sentence had a missing word. Thank you so much for pointing this out!!! Reverosie (talk) 18:28, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

In Godehilde of Tosny the mother is referred to as Isabel of Conches in the infobox and as [[Isabel of Conches|Isabel of Montfort]] in the lead which is a bit confusing.

Also Although it is possible that Godehilde could have married both Robert and Baldwin, it is highly possible that William made a mistake at the end is missing something. Polygnotus (talk) 18:39, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much!! Both of these things are fixed! Reverosie (talk) 18:42, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure Isabel of Farabel existed? I googled that name and I can't find any evidence of a person existing by that name. I made some edits on SNR 0519-69.0 and Sibylla (wife of Bohemond III) btw. Polygnotus (talk) 18:56, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

About Isabel of Farabel: It's confusing. Bohemond III of Antioch's article has a bit more on that (but not really!). Also, thank you so much for the edits on those pages! I really appreciate the help! Reverosie (talk) 18:58, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It is possibly Isabella of Farabel but I am not sure about that. Polygnotus (talk) 19:14, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It is Isabella. I'm not sure why it said Isabel! Reverosie (talk) 19:16, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Bohemond of Botron claims that Isabella(?) had a daughter called Isabel. Weird. Check out the query. Polygnotus (talk) 19:20, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Bohemond of Botron was married to Isabella of Botron, not Isabella of Farabel. Confusing. Reverosie (talk) 19:25, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
To make things even more confusing, because why not, Bohemond of Botron says:
He was the son of Bohemond III of Antioch and his fourth wife Isabel of Farabel.
Ok, so Bohemond of Botron is the son of Isabel of Farabel. Got it.
Then it says Whilst still a child, Bohemond was betrothed to Isabella
Ok, the son of Isabel was bethroted to Isabella. Why not.
Then it says: With Isabella he had four children:... Isabel Are these people insane? Your mom, wife and child have the same name? Then why not call yourself Isabel as well? Polygnotus (talk) 19:29, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I'm going to fix that now. To make things in this subject worse, Bohemond III of Antioch himself had two sons named Bohemond: Bohemond of Botron and Bohemond IV of Antioch Reverosie (talk) 19:31, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't aware that you own a time machine. I think we should give them all an UUID to make differentiation easier. Polygnotus (talk) 19:32, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think they're differentiated on wikidata but still awful Reverosie (talk) 19:34, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So then in the sentence He was the son of Bohemond III of Antioch and his fourth wife Isabel of Farabel. it should be Isabella, right? Polygnotus (talk) 19:37, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I'll fix that too. I think that both spellings are used, but we should really stick to using one Reverosie (talk) 19:38, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
fixed Reverosie (talk) 19:38, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed Reverosie (talk) 19:32, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Was Sibylla (wife of Bohemond III) (fl. 1180) correctly categorized as a 13th-century women? Polygnotus (talk) 19:02, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so. I'll re-categorize that now Reverosie (talk) 19:13, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Some people dare call me a nitpicker! The audacity! Thanks! Polygnotus (talk) 19:42, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for pointing these things out!!! Reverosie (talk) 19:42, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

DYK reviewing

[edit]

Hi, saw that you were interested in GA reviewing. I love your enthusiasm - I'm not acquainted with GAR , so I'll leave it to the mentors there to answer your question. However, I did want to recommend WP:DYK reviewing, which could help you get used to the whole "reviewing" thing. The process is similar-ish to GA, but simpler/faster as DYK's for new articles, usually, instead of, well, good articles. No pressure, just recommend a look ;). Cheers! GoldRomean (talk) 23:37, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much!!! I'm definitely going to look into that. It's a bit scary waiting for your first review, so I want to be as prepared as I can :) Reverosie (talk) 23:40, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Previous account(s)?

[edit]

Hello, Reverosie,

I just wanted to ask you if you had edited Wikipedia before with other accounts. It's not against policy to create a new account as long as the previous account(s) were not blocked. It's just incredibly unusual for a brand new account to accumulate more than 400 edits in their first 5 days of editing and you also do not edit like a new editor.

If you are actually a more experienced editor, just list your previous accounts on your User page. It's best to be open and honest on this platform. Thank you and if you have any questions about editing on Wikipedia or its many policies and guidelines, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you and happy editing! Liz Read! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sibylla, Queen of Jerusalem, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Maria Komnene. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ ā€¢ Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

This is for your great GA reviews, absolutely decimating the royality GAN backlog, your awesome user page, and just overall great articles! Cheers,  GoldRomean (talk) 21:20, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
PS: GARC should get it by then, but lmk if Baldwin doesn't get reviewed by mid-July. I'm not the biggest history person, but he seems interesting and I'd be willing to take a look if needed. And, FWIW, Fomalhaut is officially my favourite star now, since the only other one I know is Polaris. Cheers, GoldRomean (talk) 21:21, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm actually going to be extremely busy in July, and I've been very worried about getting the article reviewed before then, so this is a major reassurance for me! Thank you so much!!! 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 21:29, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Help with Depreciated sources

[edit]

Could you please let me know which sources are considered deprecated in relation to Princess Si of Anding? I was informed that sources like Encyclopedia Britannica are credible, and I checked the Wikipedia page on deprecated sources but didn't find it listed. Can you help me understand how to identify deprecated sources? AJMgirl (talk) 21:30, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Closing reviews

[edit]

Hi, not sure if it's a definite rule but it seems like GA discussions are usually closed after passing/failing (see Talk:Entyloma ageratinae/GA1 as an example). (Also it just tidies everything up ;) ). Cheers, GoldRomean (talk) 03:33, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oh! I'll definitely do that in the future. Thanks for letting me know! 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 03:51, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) It’s really optional as I’ve also seen several GA reviews that weren’t ā€œclosedā€ even though the discussion clearly ended. The closure is usually automatically done if you’re using the GAReview tool. I think one should use the method they’re more convenient with, although the script is really nice in saving stress. Your dedication to preserving the memory of those who walked the storied paths of the Crusader era is both admirable and inspiring. Each name you revive breathes again in the corridors of history, thanks to your effort. If your interest remains keen, I would be honoured to collaborate with you in creating or expanding articles on several lesser-known, yet intriguing figures of this era. Assessment

[edit]

Totally out of curiosity, where are you finding the lists of articles that you've been assessing recently? Also, probably unnecessary, but you might find WP:RATER helpful if you don't know about it already. Anyways keep up the great work as usual. Your GA nomination of Sibylla, Queen of Jerusalem

The article Sibylla, Queen of Jerusalem you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Sibylla, Queen of Jerusalem for comments about the article, and Talk:Sibylla, Queen of Jerusalem/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article is eligible to appear in the "Did you know" section of the Main Page, you can nominate it within the next seven days. Sibylla GA

[edit]

Please forgive me for appearing to disregard your contributions to the article about Sibylla. I had hoped for years to see the article marked as a GA, but I would love that distinction to be earned. I am proud when you pass my nominations because you take the reviews so seriously, and I believe that you deserve an equally serious approach.

It is regrettable that you did not inform me before nominating (per WP:GAN/I#N1). The reason why I had not nominated Sibylla earlier is because it had been my intention to improve the article about Guy first and nominate them simultaneously, in order to be able to propose a double hook for DYK about Sibylla choosing and crowning Guy. This clever and emotional move would have made a powerful hook, but that appears almost impossible now. Surtsicna (talk) 20:35, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,
First of all, I'm so sorry that I did not inform you! I absolutely should have let you know, and this was a major error on my part. I take full accountability for my mistake. You also didn't appear to be disregarding my contributions at all.
In regards to the DYK, I'd like to delay Sibylla's DYK nomination until Guy's article is also ready so that this double hook can still happen (if that is possible).
And I too was quite shocked by Sibylla's promotion being so sudden. I'm now taking it upon myself to improve the article on my own to make sure that it is not stripped of its badge.
From now on, I will always tell you when I am nominating an article that you've worked on tremendously.
Thank you, 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 20:43, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You are very kind, Reverosie. The double hook still has a chance of being realized if Guy's article can be improved within 7 days. Is that something you could do? You have Nicholson's biography of Sibylla, which should prove helpful. Surtsicna (talk) 20:51, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I can certainly try! 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 20:54, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That would mean a lot to me. I've been dreaming about this double hook for two years... Surtsicna (talk) 20:58, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm getting to work now. I sincerely hope that I'll find a GA reviewer on time! 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 20:59, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Surtsicna: I've started my extensive work on Guy's article, and as long as things are smooth sailing from here, I'll most likely get it to GA status on time (if not a bit early). However, the problem of finding a GA reviewer and finishing the review before my seven days are up might be the problem. Perhaps I could post to the reward board, but I'm not sure how well that would work; my best bet would either be joining a review circle and hoping for a miracle or having you review it. Please let me know what you think 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 00:34, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I do not think it would be right for me to review it because I am (rather obviously) looking to see it promoted ASAP... but I know editors who would jump at the opportunity and who do not care about my DYK dreams haha We'll get that sorted! The sooner we can nominate it, the better our chances. Surtsicna (talk) 07:08, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect. If you could get in touch with an editor who would be willing to open the review the instant that I nominate it, that would be ideal for the DYK 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 16:01, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I'll let you know when I'm done improving the article so that you can iron it out before I nominate it; you're a far more experienced editor than me and I always appreciate your edits to my work :) 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 16:12, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's always better to have more eyes on any given project. I'll be hunting for reviewers in the meantime :D Surtsicna (talk) 19:17, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, sorry for interrupting. Preferably, if you can get this to WP:GARC in time, I'd be happy to start a circle. Otherwise, I'm willing to review this, provided you give me 2-3 days to work with and access to any sources I may need :). I don't want to get your hopes up too much though so small disclaimer that life might happen and I might have to step out suddenly, but hopefully that doesn't happen! Best, GoldRomean (talk) 00:35, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
GOLD, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You really have no idea what a relief this is to both of us!!! 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 00:41, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, @GoldRomean. I think you will enjoy the article too. The subject was a rather controversial man and Reverosie has a knack for writing! Surtsicna (talk) 06:37, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Surtsicna: An update: Since it has taken me a bit longer than I thought to get this article to GA status, I'm going to nominate it as soon as it is done today to ensure that we can complete this task on time. I am going to co-nominate the article with you. The article will almost certainly be done by the end of today (in my timezone), though; unless something major and extremely unexpected comes up, it will be ready! 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 18:11, 29 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Major update: I am pleased to let you know that the article is now ready to be nominated for GA status!!! The size of the article has doubled (from 20,000 bytes to 40,000), and there are over 120 in-line citations from a large variety of sources. I'll be nominating the article now!!!
@Surtsicna: I couldn't have done this without your guidance from the very beginning of my time on Wikipedia, so thank you again! You've made so many great contributions to this topic, and it thrives thanks to your work.
@GoldRomean: Thank you so much again for offering to review this article so quickly even though this isn't a preferred topic of yours. Your kindness truly knows no bounds, and I am extremely grateful for your incredible consideration for other editors. 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 02:37, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That's very sweet, Reverosie, but I cannot accept any credits here. This is all your work. Thank you for all your effort. I hope the article can be reviewed and passed by Wednesday... Surtsicna (talk) 06:20, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
GoldRomean started the review just 14 minutes after the nomination, so my hopes are very high! 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 06:31, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, oops, sorry about that šŸ˜…. I'm working on it :). GoldRomean (talk) 01:49, 5 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations! - I noticed your question about DYK and a double hook. I nominated one, mentioning another subject, and when that subject later had an article, inserted a bold link in the existing nomination. Quite generally though, I prefer two hooks = two chances to tell something different. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:30, 1 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Check out my talk, - if you have little time, listen to Gilda Cruz-Romo in the final scene of Aida, if you have more read her article, and if you have still more check out my music, some sung with me in choir, some played by friends, all heard with friends. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:00, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Today is Bastille Day, commemorated by a DYK as my "story" and a visit to the Bastille Opera in "music". I like the interview coming with the story, on the day before the big event, but for pomp and circumstance, the affair with 600 singing children and orchestra, and the singer dressed in the national flag, was also captured on videos, much slower. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:03, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Three Ukrainian topics were on the main page today, at least at the beginning, RD and DYK, - see my talk. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:21, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Three of "my" recent deaths bios are on the main page right now, one my story today, Gary Karr, and I loved to find his breakthrough concert in 1962 as a video. In my music today I match it with 9 other double bassists, 7 conducted by a person who's birthday is today - coincidence ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:48, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Congrats to your GA on the main page! - On Bach's day of death (also there), I decorated my user pages in memory, with his music, and my story ends on "peace". --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:15, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The Editor's Barnstar
Hi Reverosie! I would love to thank you for your work at GAN! I am definitely impressed at your 14 GAN reviews, especially since you only have 2800 edits and after only a month of editing. For comparison, I have 3400 edits since June 2020 (though I haven't edited until late-2023). I just passed Talk:Kelston toll road/GA1 today where both me and the nominator are new to GAN. DYK for Baldwin IV of Jerusalem

[edit]

On 28 July 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Baldwin IV of Jerusalem, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that teenage King Baldwin IV of Jerusalem fought one-handed and still went to battle after becoming blind and immobile at 22? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Baldwin IV of Jerusalem. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Baldwin IV of Jerusalem), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Signature accessibility

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Femke. I wanted to let you know that your signature does not meet the requirements for signature appearances. Your signature may have too little contrast. You can use a tool to check the contrast to determine if you're signature meets the minimum contrast ratio of 4.5. If you have any questions, feel free to reply or ask for help at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 16:55, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Femke thank you so much for letting me know!!! I’m going to fix this now! 🌷ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 16:48, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Reverosie :). While I've got you: you probably want to have a similar look at your user page; I don't think it meets minimum contrast requirements either. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 16:55, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for telling me! I'll get to work on that as soon as I can :) the link you gave me for the contrast was also very helpful! ā€šŸŒ·ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 23:24, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding this edit, I think I had something to do with it. However, adding a top icon to a user category should not have this effect, so I don't know how it happened. I could just remove the category for now. 🌳 Balsam Cottonwood (talk) āœ 00:17, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I think I fixed it. Try adding it back and see what happens. 🌳 Balsam Cottonwood (talk) āœ 00:20, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The article is being copy&pasted by a Sea Cadet Unit, I have evidence

[edit]

The article has been copy&pasted to a website without citing wikipedia by a Sea Cadet Unit and is acknowledged by the website terms and conditions they just changed words! http://www.monroeseacadets.com/ I would compare the two I think its a direct copy by the website wtf. And often the cadets will edit the website of there unit. In addition this text was stolen, stolen by the sea cadet units website, I want to know when it was last changed so that it can be taken down as its my work.
"The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps was established by the Navy League of the United States, at the request of the Secretary of the Navy in 1958. Guidance with nominating for DYK

[edit]

I would like some help with this, and also some instructions on were to go to find someone who has the expertise to add more information and is even more informed then me for A class nomination later down the line. Tokeamour (talk) 07:16, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I already have a fact ready, so that should be not something of issue. Tokeamour (talk) 07:19, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Sadly, I'm not familiar with DYK at all, and I don't think I'm the person to ask about that. From what I've seen, the people at DYK are super friendly, so don't be afraid to reach out to them! As for A-Class nominations, I could help you there. ā€šŸŒ·ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 15:51, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Tokeamour and Reverosie: I can help with DYK, seeing as I often work there. To nominate an article for DYK, the article must be at least 1500 characters long (in prose). It also needs to have been created (or passed GA) within the last seven days, along with the hook needing to be interesting. For more information, see the DYK rules. To get help, leave a message at WT:DYK. JuniperChill (talk) 17:37, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering, is there any way to credit Elias Ziade with the GA promotion as well? He also played a big role in bringing the article to where it is now. Nehme1499 18:28, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Editor of the Week

[edit]
Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week in recognition of your great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

Users Tarlby and GoldRomean submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

Reverosie is a polite, enthusiastic, and determined editor interested in astronomy and, especially, medieval history. Within two days of joining Wikipedia, she created these two excellent quality articles, Godehilde of Tosny and SNR 0519-69.0. Just a week later, she began reviewing GA's and has now conducted 14 GA reviews in medieval history and also successfully brought Baldwin IV of Jerusalem and Sibylla, Queen of Jerusalem to GA status, with a current active nomination for Guy of Lusignan (at the time of writing), which are all pretty huge articles. Though Reverosie is still relatively new here (she only gained her first 1,000+ edits in a month), a quick look at her responses to the four barnstars gifted to her is clear evidence of her politeness and enthusiasm. There's no doubt that Reverosie is a clear net positive to the community, and I'm sure that she'll continue to be one in the years to come. This nomination was seconded by AirshipJungleman29, Vacant0, Yelps, Surtsicna and Vanderwaalforces.

Congrats Reverosie for the EOTW!!! I knew she would be a perfect candidate seeing as she reviewed so many GAs within a few months, but I didn't expect the award to go out this month!! I hope you get an FA soon (by 2026), seeing as I have plans to get Animal Crossing: New Horizons to that level! JuniperChill (talk) 19:14, 16 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have words to express how thankful I am for such a massive honor. From the moment I joined Wikipedia, I knew that I wanted to make an impact, but I never could have guessed just how greatly this community would impact me.
I can hardly comprehend how I've gone from drafting the articles I wanted to create on a measly google document to seeing them mentioned in my very own Eddybox. How a Wikiproject I drafted in my notes app on the highway ended up with so much support from so many amazing people. How this website as a whole has had such a positive impact on my life.
I've met so many incredible people here, and I wouldn't have been able to make it this far without them. I'd like to thank a few of them now.
@GoldRomean and @Tarlby: Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for nominating me to receive this award. The two of you have been nothing but incredible to me, and you've always been there to help me when I needed it. I'll never forget your kindness, and I'll always be grateful for all that you've done. From Tarlby awarding me my very first barnstar to GoldRomean immediately opening a GA review when I was searching for a reviewer, your thoughtfulness is enough to move mountains, and I'll never be able to thank you enough.
@AirshipJungleman29, @Vacant0, @Yelps, @Surtsicna, and @Vanderwaalforces: Thank you, truly, for seconding my nomination. I know some of you better than others, but all of you chose to support me regardless of how well you knew me. Seeing such overwhelming support come from so many different editors is a truly sobering experience, and I'm forever appreciative of your thoughtfulness.
@JuniperChill and @Gerda Arendt: Thank you so much for the kind messages you've left for me regarding my selection, and thank you for all of the kind messages you've left for me on my talk page. I've greatly enjoyed our conversations thus far, and I'm eagerly anticipating many more to come.
And, of course, @Buster7: Thank you so much for doing this. Thank you for operating such an incredible WikiProject, thank you for making hundreds of people feel so incredibly appreciated, and thank you for giving me such an incredible honor.
I've only spent a few months on Wikipedia, but I have many years here to come. I am grateful that I will get to spend them with people like you. ā€šŸŒ·ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 03:04, 17 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your review

[edit]

Hello Reverosie, I hope you're doing well today. Regarding the Owodo article and that Ero, Osayomwanbo source that was flagged as unreliable during your review. I want to let you know that I have fixed the article; removing all materials from the said source. I recall that you were almost done, if not done, with the review that day, and that the last question I asked was if I could add an image of File:Ikhaladerhan.jpg when you asked for an image. Please let me know what you think and if I should renom. Thank you already! Vanderwaalforces (talk) 16:47, 21 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

From a quick skim, it looks very good to me, but I'll have to look at it more in-depth to determine if you should re-nom the article so soon. Also, you can definitely add that image! ā€šŸŒ·ReverosiešŸŒ·ā˜…talkā˜… 17:20, 21 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, thank you for looking! I don't know of renominating an article after previous review to have a certain period of time interval, lol, I mean, since you're the same reviewer and it was a singular issue too. Okay, thank you, I will add that image. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 17:33, 21 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

On 29 August 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Sibylla, Queen of Jerusalem, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status.
