Notice

The article Tang Yunsheng has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Cannot find sources. Only source on article is defunct unless accessing on WayBack Machine; source itself has at most only a passing mention of Yunsheng.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I have sent you a note about a page you started

[edit]

Hi LlywelynII. Thank you for your work on List of leaders of South Korea. Another editor, Scope creep, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Hi. I think the lead is probably a tad too long, although it is a list article. Could it be sectionalised into historical section perhaps. I don't know. I had a look at the table. I like the look of it. I also see Note I and Note J have refs errors. Notes neeed references as well. Its getting there.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Scope creep}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Thanks for taking care with the Śramaṇa page--I am having some students read Siddhartha (Hermann Hesse novel) in class, and needed clarification on what a Śramaṇa actually was, and this really helped. I know there are disputes happening over the Vedic connection etc. But I appreciate your work on it generally. Meerkat77 (talk) 17:38, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Meerkat77: Well, you're certainly welcome but you're probably thanking the wrong person. Afaik, I just cleaned up some foreign text on that page. — LlywelynII 12:09, 14 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The city that grew up around his initial palace at Changle became known as Chang'an. - this sentence is unsourced.

Please source ASAP to meet DYK requirements - thanks, Gatoclass (talk) 10:32, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Llywelyn, just thought I'd ask, is there a reason you format the zh wiki links as a parenthetical rather than through Template:Ill? (And if the reason is because the template is horribly fiddly, do you object to a change? I think 廣武 is zh:广武镇.) CMD (talk) 05:08, 1 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Chipmunkdavis: They're parenthetical whether you're (mis)using brackets or using the—at least grammatically—correct parentheses. If it bugs you and is standard, sure, go ahead and bring it up to code (although I'm curious where in the MOS that is covered if you have it handy). Kindly don't use the default template for {{zh}}. It's just godawful, really should be actively avoided in favor of {{chinese}}, {{lang}}, {{langx}}, and {{translit}} wherever possible (which is everywhere), and misformats (e.g.) simplified characters and pinyin as a separate language, although no one else has cared enough to build a consensus to fix it yet. — LlywelynII 04:17, 3 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also, fwiw, it looks like that Chinese link on this particular page (did you mean a different one?) was supplied by a different editor. You might want to message them if it really is a solid policy preference. — LlywelynII 04:33, 3 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't bug me per se, it's the practice documented at MOS:INTERLINK. I do admit I find it neat that Template:Ill creates a redlink until such time as an en.wiki article is created, at which point the template automatically adjusts to remove the interwiki link and display only the en.wiki blue link (thus matching the rest of the links which are en.wiki links with no characters). For example, in running prose the template can generate Ganwu [zh]. No {{zh}} required at all. CMD (talk) 06:36, 3 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Template:Lang-fr requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2024_September_27#Replace_and_delete_lang-??_templates. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
