This is a brief history of my work at Wikipedia. Some of it is factual. The rest is my version of what happened. Considering how many editors dislike me, many will disagree with my version.

In 2012 I became an admin. In 2015 I became a CheckUser. In June 2020, the Arbitration Committee revoked my CU privileges, ostensibly because I ran too many checks, what some label pfishing, one of many silly words used by Wikipedians. Very few editors opposed the revocation, even among those I had considered my friends.

I mostly retired for many months but then came back in 2021. That was a mistake. I should have realized that too many editors, including administrators, objected to my approach to administrating. Some of their reasons: I use my tools a lot. I block a lot of people. I'm too quick to block newer editors. My responses to those who challenge my actions are insufficient. Although I doubt my actions rose to the level of being desysopped by the Committee, it was only a matter of time before I was targeted by the charming new recall process, and in record time, a recall petition was endorsed. I had even more enemies than I realized.

So, here I am, disgraced twice, and this time not coming back. Wikipedia has been a big part of my life for over 13 years. I'll miss it, but I doubt many will miss me.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:51, 3 September 2025 (UTC)
