Speedy deletion nomination of Yobadobee

[edit]

Hello GoldenBootWizard276,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Yobadobee for deletion, because it's a redirect that seems implausible or is an unlikely search term.

If you don't want Yobadobee to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Unblock request

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

GoldenBootWizard276 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I should be unblocked because I have done alot of good work on Wikipedia and wish to continue my good work and I apologise for the redirects I created.

Decline reason:

I think the best path forward here is for you to contact the blocking admin and suggest a WP:TOPICBAN on all redirects. Failing that, you could make an unblock request with that suggested topicban. I don't think anything less will be sufficient. Yamla (talk) 18:35, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@Star Mississippi: Could you unblock me under those conditions please? GoldenBootWizard276 (talk) 18:36, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Do you understand why your redirects were problematic? You didn't seem to when you participated in the discussion. I'd be willing to consider an unblock with that topic ban in place, but I'm also not sure the issues wouldn't surface in other areas of your editing so would like to hear more from you on that. Star Mississippi 18:51, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Star Mississippi: I understand that some of the redirects I have created have been problematic as they are not very likely search terms and not very useful redirects. GoldenBootWizard276 (talk) 18:53, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Bonadea was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
 The comment the reviewer left was:
What makes her notable? The draft currently just says she exists – that is not sufficient even for a stub article. Furthermore, there are seven sources supporting that simple claim, which is citation overkill. I see a comment about WP:ONEEVENT on a previous version of the draft, and it looks like that one event was removed from the text while keeping the sourcing. That does not make the draft ready to become an article, though.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Yes; there's no other purpose to doing that. You need to use the WP:AFC process via the Article Wizard. 331dot (talk) 13:57, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@331dot: Apologies I wasn't aware. The Article Wizard doesn't allow me to create any articles at the moment. GoldenBootWizard276 (talk) 14:01, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The Wizard is for creating a draft to submit for a review. I'm not aware of something that would be preventing this, does an error message appear? 331dot (talk) 14:04, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@331dot: I'm not allowed to create any pages. GoldenBootWizard276 (talk) 14:05, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Right- I'm remembering now. Would you be able to respect a topic ban from creating articles if I remove the prohibition on creating pages, which will allow you to create drafts? 331dot (talk) 14:13, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@331dot: I would be able to do that thanks. GoldenBootWizard276 (talk) 14:21, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that you believe its notable; but as stated by the other editor, it barley mentions a background history, anything, just a simple mention of the OSBE, and some other things, it'd be nice if we could get some history, how he lived as a child, or some basic information to expand this article, our purpose as AFC reviewers is to make sure articles survive an WP:AFD, and I personally don't believe it will, that is my opinion, and why I am rejecting this, if possible find some more information. :)

Really, the article is just far too short as it is. Not much information can be gleaned from it. Try to beef it up a bit. How were the killings carried out? What was the reasoning for it? What impact did it have?

If you can't find any of that information anywhere, the event, although tragic, may not be notable enough for Wikipedia.

Best of luck to you, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me!
