Speedy deletion nomination of Global Wire Products, SA

[edit]

Hello Commandant Quacks-a-lot,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Global Wire Products, SA for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.

If you don't want Global Wire Products, SA to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Formatting help

[edit]

I am trying to do some image formatting on my userpage. (So, nothing important at all.) I'm attempting to put to copies of File:A discourse on the emigration of British birds- or Fleuron T133764-1.png next to each other and place that thing on top and bottom of my userpage as a sort of decorative border. It may not be possible given the width of the image or something. I've tried multiple ways to get it to work, but I've been unsuccessful. Any help would be much appreciated! DYK for Lizzie (elephant)

[edit]

On 21 August 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Lizzie (elephant), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Thos. W. Ward Ltd. used camels and an elephant named Lizzie (pictured) to replace horses during World War I? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Lizzie the Elephant. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Lizzie (elephant)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hi Commandant Quacks-a-lot. I removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}} tag you placed on Category:Travel-related organisations. Proposed deletions only work for pages and files, and thus may not be used on categories. As a note, the category is spelled correctly for British English, and categories that are empty but serve as redirects are permitted via WP:CATRED; however, it is noted that these are costly redirects. If you still want to delete the category, you can propose it be deleted at Categories for discussion, following the instructions at WP:CFD#HOWTO. Cheers! Hello Commandant Quacks-a-lot. This is a reminder that your Articles for Creation review on Atabik Mohsin is still marked as ongoing for over forty-eight hours. After seventy-two hours, Atabik Mohsin will be returned to the review queue so that other reviewers may review the draft.

Images of Popes

[edit]

Hey @Commandant Quacks-a-lot,

I'd just like to let you know I reverted your changes to the images of various popes. This was because it was decided (here) imagined/romanticised/anacronistic images of the popes (from millennia later than the pope lived) should not be used. I would recommend reading the essay WP:PORTRAIT for a better explanation of why this decision was made. I would also point out that at least one of the images (Antipope Ursicinus was of a different person (Ursicinus (bishop of Ravenna)) which is obviosuly unacceptable). Many thanks, Cakelot1 ☞️ talk 08:02, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, okay, thanks for letting me know! Commandant Quacks-a-lot (talk) 14:57, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Commandant Quacks-a-lot, I've gone ahead and reverted your other image you added to Antipope Ursicinus. For that one in specific the reason for the original revert wasn't anachronism (I think a devotional piece of art of that sort is generally fine for the saint-popes) but that it was OF THE WRONG PERSON. Saint Ursicinus is a different person to Antipope Ursicinus. They are different men living centuries apart. All the mosaics are of the saint NOT the anti-pope. Cakelot1 ☞️ talk 15:32, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Whoops, I'm an idiot. Thanks for catching that, @Cakelot1! Commandant Quacks-a-lot (talk) 15:35, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's no problem, they are both 1st Millennia Italian clerics who share a name (although very different in that one was canonized and the other dammed), it's an easy enough mistake to make. And it isn't too much bother reverting multiple when using Keyboard shortcuts. Cakelot1 ☞️ talk 15:59, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
