Happy Holidays
[edit]
Peace is a state of balance and understanding in yourself and between others, where respect is gained by the acceptance of differences, tolerance persists, conflicts are resolved through dialog, people's rights are respected and their voices are heard, and everyone is at their highest point of serenity without social tension. [edit] Hello, I'm Bagumba. Your recent edit to the page Karl-Anthony Towns appears to have added premature information about a reported sports transaction, so it has been removed for now. The transaction is based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. If you believe the transaction has been completed, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 06:11, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Bagumba, and thank you for letting me know; but not only did I already know that the edit had been (mostly) reversed, but I have a notice at the top of my page asking for folks to not template me. I know you were just trying to be helpful, but for future reference a simple 30 second typed warning will do. :) Cheers, atque supra! Fakescientist8000 11:41, 28 September 2024 (UTC)

[edit]my comment was not removed. don't be so sensitive that you are sensitive to the criticism of others. criticism is healthy. surely you can see the insolence and pride of the crew in charge of the RD section. It's sickening. i don't know how to send you a private reply so i'm just following the instructions you left in your message for me. Peace Skootamassa (talk) 17:02, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Skootamassa I'm fully aware. However, passive aggressive comments such as that message are not helpful to the point of ITN/C. Cheers, atque supra! Fakescientist8000 19:23, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
- what is itn/c?
- there was nothing passive aggressive about my comment. that term gets passed around so easily these days. P/A is denoted by passive hostility and indirect communication. if anything i was being openly hostile and direct in my communication, which is synonymous with being critical. I don't intend to beat this issue into the bush, but when you come around blindly criticising the critic of a group of people who require criticism and introspection then you are just adding fluff to the air and stirring up uneccessary contention. I believe your intentions are good, however blind, and could be put to better use with true intent, your intent, and a decent understanding of the perspectives involved in the situation you so choose to meddle.
- Peace and blessings to you, Skootamassa (talk) 16:18, 29 September 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of 2030 United States House of Representatives elections
[edit]Hello Fakescientist8000,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged 2030 United States House of Representatives elections for deletion, because it's a redirect that seems implausible or is an unlikely search term.
If you don't want 2030 United States House of Representatives elections to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

[edit]Hi Fakescientist8000. Thank you for your work on 2032 United States House of Representatives elections. Another editor, MPGuy2824, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
it is WP:TOOSOON for these redirects to be created. They aren't even mentioned in the target page.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on 2030 United States House of Representatives elections requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion nomination of Peter Moskos (soldier)
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Peter Moskos (soldier) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
Fram (talk) 14:46, 18 March 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Peter Moskos (disambiguation)
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Peter Moskos (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because
- it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- it is a redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" whose target is neither a disambiguation page nor page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. ObserveOwl (talk) 17:29, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

- Following an RfC, administrator elections were permanently authorized on a five-month schedule. The next election will be scheduled soon; see Wikipedia talk:Administrator elections for more information. This is an alternate process to the RfA process and does not replace the latter.
- An RfC was closed with consensus to allow editors to opt-out of seeing "sticky decorative elements". Such elements should now be wrapped in {{sticky decoration wrapper}}. Editors who wish to opt out can follow the instructions at WP:STICKYDECO.
- An RfC has resulted in a broad prohibition on the use of AI-generated images in articles. A few common-sense exceptions are recognized.
- A New Pages Patrol backlog drive is happening in May 2025 to reduce the backlog of articles in the new pages feed. Sign up here to participate!

The article Kobe Paysour has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable college player. Fails WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Onel5969 TT me 15:58, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
Win or Lose Corporation moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Win or Lose Corporation. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and in particular, the reliability of the first source at walkermedia.org is dubious (looks like a WordPress site, and the home page gives an Oops! That page can’t be found. error) and the second source is unverifiable. The article needs at least two and preferably three reliable independent sources with significant coverage of the subject. There's useful information about how to choose good sources and avoid bad sources here. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. SunloungerFrog (talk) 18:56, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

I commented against the tag you placed on the Endangered Species Act 1973 page
[edit]Hello. I saw the warning tag you placed today on the ESA 1973 page and am grateful you encouraged comment on your decision on the ESA 1973 talk page, which I have done. Below I am pasting in what I wrote there:
Here is the edit that happened today by a new editor to this page: 18:53, 23 June 2025 Fakescientist8000 talk contribs m 328,567 bytes +29 Added {{Very long}} tag undothank Tag: Twinkle
What shows now at the top of the page for ALL TO SEE is this warning:
This article may be too long to read and navigate comfortably. Consider splitting content into sub-articles, condensing it, or adding subheadings. Please discuss this issue on the article's talk page. (June 2025)
I request others to comment on that warning, as I vote for its removal. I have been working on this page for two years, and now account for 70% of the entire word count. I am a retired science writer (4 books in evolutionary ecology), and I was thereby able to vastly upscale the content and reliability of this page by using a lot of academic science papers and law review articles as references. I began this editing because of the 50th anniversary of the ESA of 1973 that happened in Dec 2023. After the 2024 presidential election, I stepped up again by providing an even more thorough account of the new section I added in 2023: "Challenges and Controversies." Yes, it is very long, but I used a lot of SUBSECTION HEADS (28) so that each block of text was relatively short and inviting to read. I also enhanced the visual readability by using blockquotes and especially by inputting one or more useful images for almost every subsection. As well, the standard wikipedia TOC enables prospective readers to easily see the complete list of all headings, and thereby decide which part they need to read. And I do mean "need" to read. More than ever before, this globally known conservation law is being reconsidered, based on the challenges and controversies that have arisen over 5 decades of implementation. Especially because of the quality and thoroughness of the references, I believe this wikipedia page is the best place for anyone reconsidering the Act to begin their own inquiry. And I am proud of my work in ensuring that controversial topics are made known and revealed in the fullness of their view range — which in itself helps the reader understand that addressing the longstanding problems and divisive issues requires more than mere surface understandings. Administrators' newsletter – August 2025
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2025).
- Following a request for comment, a new speedy deletion criterion, G15, has been enacted. It applies to pages generated by a large language model (LLM) without human review.
- Following a request for comment, there is a new policy outlining the granting of permissions to view the IP addresses of temporary accounts. Temporary account deployment on the English Wikipedia is currently scheduled for September 2025, and editors can request access to the permission ahead of time. Admins are encouraged to keep an eye on the request page; there will likely be a flood of editors requesting the permission when they realize they can no longer see IP addresses.
- Administrators can now restrict the "Add a Link" feature to newcomers. The "Add a Link" Structured Task helps new account holders get started with editing. Administrators can configure this setting in the Community Configuration page.
- The arbitration case Indian military history has been closed.
- South Asia (WP:CT/SA) is designated a contentious topic. The topic area is specifically defined as
All pages related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), broadly construed, including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups.
- The contentious topic designations for Sri Lanka (SL) and India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan (IPA) are folded into this new contentious topic.
- The community-authorized general sanctions regarding South Asian social groups (GS/CASTE) are rescinded and folded into this new contentious topic.
- South Asia (WP:CT/SA) is designated a contentious topic. The topic area is specifically defined as
- The arbitration case Article titles and capitalisation 2 has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case closed on 31 July.
- The arbitration case Transgender healthcare and people has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case will close on 11 August.

image uploads
[edit]Hi, Fakescientist8000, please stop uploading non-free images of living people. Per WP:NFC#UUI, images of living people will virtually never be considered irreplaceable by a free alternative, since a free picture could be taken while they are still alive. Thanks, Writ Keeper ⚇♔ 01:37, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Writ Keeper, thank you for letting me know and I will do. It is quite frustrating (and yet equally understandable) why that is in place, knowing it's incredible unlikely to have free images of those folks online. Alas, what are we to do? Cheers, atque supra! Fakescientist8000 02:28, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
