A suggestion

[edit]

Hello! First off I want to preface this by saying that I think SuggestBot is exactly what Wikipedia needs, because sometimes we're stuck not knowing which article we're going to improve next. I do have a suggestion that I think will make its suggestions a bit more accurate as to what we're interested in.

I'm aware that by simply following the suggestions at User:SuggestBot/Requests, SuggestBot draws suggestions based off the articles that you've edited recently. When I get suggestions from this, some of the suggestions are usually very related to my interests, which is great. However, I also do a lot of anti-vandalism work, which means that my contributions consist of a lot of pages that I'm not interested in. This means that a lot of my suggestions are based off of pages which I've contributed to to revert vandalism, but actually aren't interested in. Is there some way to code it so that pages where my only contribution consists of a revert doesn't count, or something like that? Thank you! Relativity ⚡️ 19:51, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

suggest bot follow-up

[edit]

I used suggest bot I think pretty effectively to up edits. How often does it suggest? Does it correct the changes? What are other ways to up edits? RosPost 14:08, 18 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @RosPost, thank you for using SuggestBot! Sorry for not spotting this question earlier! There are two different ways to use the bot, and one of them is subscribing to get them periodically. If you use that method, you’ll get them automatically weekly, every two weeks, or every four weeks. You’re of course also free to request a set of suggestions from the bot at any point like you did last time. Cheers, Nettrom (talk) 09:49, 31 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Merge categories renamed

[edit]

SuggestBot's code seems to need to be updated for this change.

(My apologies for not notifying you sooner; I was so focused on just implementing the change technically that making sure bots were updated fell off my mind). * Pppery * it has begun... 18:12, 29 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No recent User Talk suggestions

[edit]

I have my requested frequency at twice a month and have not received suggestions since November 13. Looking at the contributions of the bot, it hasn't written to User Talk space since November 16. Is it working as correctly? —Ost (talk) 13:19, 10 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Ost316: Thank you for reporting this! And thank you also to @Pppery for pointing out that the merge categories have changed. I’ll update the bot’s configuration and get it running again. Cheers, Nettrom (talk) 18:14, 13 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
