[edit]

Since you left a message on my talk page regarding me adding object show-related templates to random articles that mostly have names of BFDI characters (Pen, Coiny, and Flower), there also seem to be object show-related templates to Talk:List of web series and Talk:List of animated Internet series since object shows are animated web series, so is it okay if I add object-show related templates to Talk:Anthropomorphism and/or Talk:Anthropomorphized food since object shows feature anthropomorphic objects and it is common for an object show to feature an anthropomorphic food character? Or maybe not because of WP:BEAN because if I tell someone not to edit object-show related content to a page, they might not take my advice as it may backfire, and they might vandalize/vandalise it with object show-related content in retaliation. DiscoveringMysteries03 (talk) 18:31, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@DiscoveringMysteries03: Hello! I think it makes sense that the list talk pages have the notice, since some new editors will try to "complete" those lists with non-notable shows (despite the lists' selection criteria). See edits to the list such as [1] [2] [3] (also this). But for a broad-concept article like anthropomorphism, it doesn't seem like fans have tried to add a mention of the series (according to WikiBlame) or even suggest it on the talk page, so it doesn't seem necessary.
To take another notice as an example, {{censor}}, we include it in high-profile talk pages of articles focusing on objectionable words or media where complaints have occured, like Talk:Profanity or Talk:Depictions of Muhammad. We don't include it on every somewhat related page with potentially offensive content, like Talk:Fucked Up or Talk:Medieval Christian views on Muhammad (which includes depictions of the prophet). It is generally not recommended to add more banners in talk pages unless necessary, in order to avoid potential confusion; also, the likelihood that the OSC banner becomes misrepresented by BFDI fans increases if it is used in too many pages that only slightly relate to BFDI. Question from JKNicholls1 on Gurudas Chatterjee (12:39, 16 July 2025)

[edit]

I’m very new at this. I recently edited a Wikipedia article, correcting a typo. Today I was sent an invitation to copy edit another article. I pulled it up and read it, and could find no problems. Was it sent to me because someone suggested there were problems? Or is it just a new article that needed review? Thanks in advance for your feedback. --JKNicholls1 (talk) 12:39, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@JKNicholls1: Welcome! The article may have been shown as a suggestion because it included a notice at the top indicating problems that one editor pointed out. It stated that the article needs more inline citations to reliable sources, and that there may have been passages that violate the neutral point of view policy, particularly "peacock terms".
These notes at the top of some articles may help you find and correct the issues. However, looking at the edit history of the article, it seems like the article's tone has been worked upon since the neutrality tag was added. Therefore, I have removed the tag about the neutral wording for now. You should be able to remove maintenance tags at the top as long as it is clear the issues have been resolved or no longer apply. See Help:Maintenance template removal. Thank you! ObserveOwl (talk) 16:39, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Garresau32 (14:29, 16 July 2025)

[edit]

I am practicing in my sandbox visual editor and I can't seem to save without publishing. if I close out and go back it recovers "Unsaved Changes" but I have no idea how to save my changes without publishing. Everything is saying there should be a "Save changes" button somewhere but the only thing I see is a "Publish button" --Garresau32 (talk) 14:29, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

On Wikipedia, 'save changes' means 'publish'. Sandboxes are never indexed by search engines and it is unlikely anyone will look at a personal one unless they have a reason to. Therefore, it's ok to put nearly anything there. If you really want to write things and save them without publishing them to Wikipedia, you can write in a word processor and copy/paste it later. Question from Adamweymouth (21:42, 18 July 2025)

[edit]

Hi - I've signed up to try and have a page made about myself - My name is Adam Weymouth, and I believe I fulfil the criteria of being notable - I have two books published by Penguin and various articles etc. But I have no idea of the process of how to go about requesting this. Any help much appreciated. Thanks so much --Adamweymouth (talk) 21:42, 18 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Adamweymouth: Hello and welcome! It is generally discouraged to write about yourself or topics you may be associated with, as it could be hard to remain neutral. Please review Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, and bear in mind Wikipedia articles should not be used as a means for promotion and should align with third-party reliable sources.
In terms of notability, see Wikipedia:Notability (people)#Basic criteria; it essentially requires that the person's life and career has been covered in significant detail in third-party, reputable sources. The process to write the article for newer editors is at Wikipedia:Article Wizard; if you are considering using it, select the "I'm writing about myself, or a close person/subject" option. Alternatively, you may suggest the article at Wikipedia:Requested articles, but this will not guarantee your article will be written (we are not an on-demand article writing service). Feel free to ask more questions here or at the Wikipedia:Teahouse. Thank you. ObserveOwl (talk) 22:04, 18 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from CharviShubhangana (09:46, 28 July 2025)

[edit]

hey, i want to write an article about an existing school --CharviShubhangana (talk) 09:46, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@CharviShubhangana: Hello and welcome! Usually, editors should have some experience with editing other articles before creating one, as it can be a difficult task. Nonetheless, there is some guidance for the relevant policies and guidelines at Help:Your first article. Check WP:42 for the essentials on article notability. Then, go to Wikipedia:Article wizard to start your article draft. Happy editing! ObserveOwl (talk) 09:56, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
i have made a draft and published it, can you please review it? CharviShubhangana (talk) 09:59, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@CharviShubhangana: I would recommend adding more reliable sources other than the official website, such as newspapers, to establish notability. Press the blue "Submit the draft for review!" button when you are ready. I will not review it, as I am not a draft reviewer, but someone else will. If you need more help on your draft, feel free to ask at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk. ObserveOwl (talk) 10:07, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from RAJ19777 (17:32, 18 August 2025)

[edit]

Hi, Wikipedia has declined my article on Jobymon Skaria multiple times. Could you please let me know how I can improve that submission? Regards --RAJ19777 (talk) 17:32, 18 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@RAJ19777: Hello and welcome! For your draft - Draft:Jobymon Skaria - you should cite reliable sources, like newspapers, books, etc. that have not been written by Skaria and that detail his life and career. These sources help prove that the article meets the general inclusion criteria. There are also specific standards for inclusion of articles about academics that may help. If you have more questions, feel free to ask at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk. Thank you! ObserveOwl (talk) 17:44, 18 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@RAJ19777: Sorry, I just noticed another draft you created, Draft:Dr Jobymon Skaria, Biblical Studies Lecturer, Bloomsbury Author & Postcolonial Researcher, about the same person. Please only work on one draft (Draft:Jobymon Skaria) to avoid confusion for draft reviewers. Thank you. ObserveOwl (talk) 17:52, 18 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
