Information icon Hi Pencilceaser123! I noticed that you recently made an edit at Lapstone Oval and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia: it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Dealing with a very experienced editors

[edit]

When dealing with experienced users, it is generally more effective to write them a short personal message than to apply a standardized template..... Just the basic courtesy. Moxy🍁 02:19, 21 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I will do that next time, however I was just trying to save time. It is also fairly standard to not delete messages from other peoples talk pages unless its a clear violation of wikipedia policy.
Also see both the final paragraph of Wikipedia:Don't template the regulars and User:DESiegel/Template the regulars. The last paragraph of dont template the regulars doesnt entirely apply to you as it is for the recipient of a template. However I believe it still somewhat applies to you as you seemed to act as the recipient. Next time please dont remove a message from another persons talk page you disagree with but add a message to my talk page. Thank you for being kind and trying to improve wikipedia. Hi I saw what you said on my page and the Aethiopia one.

[edit]

I removed it because I added the full quote to the top since it related to Colchis, which was referred to as Asiatic Ethiopia or Second Ethiopia, and this section of herodotus' work on the cultural similarities between Aethiopia and Egypt mentioned Colchis as also having practiced circumcision. I feel with my edits I've added a lot of missing info and I didn't remove that quote, just moved it because there were two on the page. I'm new so i didnt realise sorry. 2601:280:CE82:7070:5866:F563:D3D4:8265 (talk) 01:37, 12 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 02:05:31, 27 October 2025 for assistance on AfC submission by Zackandquack

[edit]

My creation request for the album Anew was recently denied with the cited reason of "No more notability shown than last submission." I don't think this is in any way accurate, and believe the draft fulfills Wikipedia's notability requirements for music-related pages. Between the prior submission and this most recent one that was denied, I added a section noting the album reaching No. 1 on the Japanese Billboard chart as well as reaching No. 1 on the Oricon JP chart. This album is notable, was released by a notable band, and has been covered by multiple media sources that have been cited in the article. I don't understand what this draft is missing; it includes far more cited information than many of the band's other records.

Talk:Normandy landings

[edit]
Stop icon

You have been warned about bludgeoning the process at Talk:Normandy landings#Requested move 28 October 2025. The editor who warned you pointed you at Wikipedia:Don't bludgeon the process. In Wikipedia terms, bludgeoning is where someone attempts to force their point of view through a very high number of comments, such as contradicting every viewpoint that is different from their own. Typically, this means making the same argument over and over and to different people in the same discussion or across related discussions. This can happen on a talk page, deletion discussion, or... realistically, in any discussion on Wikipedia. This behaviour and conduct is undesirable, considered a form of disruptive editing, and is usually seen and reported as such when observed by other editors who are involved in the same discussion. So far, you have made 13 posts in a discussion involving 16 editors!

Do you know about WP:ANI? If you carry on bludgeoning the process, you may get taken there. It is not fun.-- Toddy1 (talk) 08:57, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What? I dont see how I am bludgenoeing the process? Ill stop making so many posts alright but I was just making points, I never meant to upset anyone or anything? I am genuinely confused? Pencilceaser123 (talk) 09:08, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I never meant to upset anyone or anything yes, I know. That is why editors try to explain the problem to you. The purpose of the move discussion is see what other editors think, and why they think it. You do not need to answer nearly all of them. You made your point clear when you made your proposal. Most of your comments are just saying the same thing, over and over and over again in slightly different ways. -- Toddy1 (talk) 09:23, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alright and thats all you had to say, your comment came off as implying bad faith. Ill make less comments, but the one you replied to specicly and said I was bludgenoing discussion confuses me. Because that one was a question, so of all of the talk page comments that one makes the most sense to reply to? Besides, that answer was saying different things to other replys. Anyway thank you. I wasnt aware making a lot of comments in a discussion was considered rude and disruptive, so thanks for pointing that out. Pencilceaser123 (talk) 21:55, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Bludgeoning

[edit]

Please be mindful not to WP:BLUDGEON discussions, such as at ITN recently. I see @Toddy1 has already told you about this and you should really stop making so many comments in discussions. Thanks, Chorchapu (talk | edits) 00:57, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I seriously don't understand how this is an issue, I've tried to make less comments without replying to things that don't need replies. But I have only been making comments were I feel it is necessary, such as clarifying my position, answering questions, or stating my opinion on various proposals. It's kinda hard for me to defend myself bcz it's not clear which discussions you are referring too. I appreciate what you're saying but I don't believe I am bludgeoning discussion as my replies vary in what they say, I don't repeat the same thing over and over now. Could you refer to some specific replies I should not have made? Pencilceaser123 (talk) 01:03, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Pencilceaser123 (talk) 01:03, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
[1] for a start. And in the ongoing Al-Fashir discussion you have made 10 comments in a discussion with 14 people. Before you make a comment, stop and think if it's really necessary. Chorchapu (talk | edits) 01:16, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I also noticed you changed the Al-Fashir ongoing proposal to a blurb. Please don't do this as it can mislead other editors as to what the nominator was actually suggesting (I was among those confused). Chorchapu (talk | edits) 01:28, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry this was a mistake. I am new to ITN and was confused. Apologies. Pencilceaser123 (talk) 01:31, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No worries! Chorchapu (talk | edits) 01:35, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry you can revert that, I was just trying to suggest a possible blurb if it did have a blurb but was confused, I didnt realise it was ongoing. Pencilceaser123 (talk) 01:36, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback. However I dont understand what the reason behind why the first one is bad, they made an accusation they should not have made. I do think most of my comments are neccesary. Also of those 10 comments, 2 are replies to my own post (bcz sometimes replying is quicker than editing it) , 1 is an accidental duplicate of another one, and of the others 5 are justifying my blurb, which I didnt want people to misinterpret. Its true the ones about the blurb are largely duplicates but I felt people were misinterpreting the reason behind my blurb I chose and just needed context. I wasn’t sure how else to do it.
Question: one of the replies I got to a reply is saying there is no evidence mass killing is continuing, I disagree and sources generally consider it continuing (the statement "over a day or so" is especially wrong as the main stuff happened over a few days) so should I reply to that reply providing a reason for how its continuing? Or should I not? Pencilceaser123 (talk) 01:36, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
My rule for myself is that, in general, if someone is either sorely mistaken, has misinterpreted something you said, or is asking you a question. Of course there are very broad guidelines with many caveats but it's a good place to start. Chorchapu (talk | edits) 01:40, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
But what do I do regarding the above specific question? I guess you made you italitics bcz your explaining why I was wrong for the American reply thing, but I feel its fine to intervene if someone does something they shouldnt do (or maybe I should use that persons talk page for that?). What if someone isnt extremely mistaken but is saying something misleading. Pencilceaser123 (talk) 01:43, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
For more niche cases it is best to use your own judgement. Take care, Chorchapu (talk | edits) 01:58, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thank you sorry Pencilceaser123 (talk) 02:10, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Agender

On 20 November 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Agender, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that some people identify with no gender? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Agender. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Agender), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.
