Draft:Andrzej Derdziuk

[edit]

Hi, I made some adjustments to the Draft:Andrzej Derdziuk article. Could you please review it? Shadowfax33 (talk) 12:32, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - thanks for making the edits. I'm afraid I've got a lot going on this week so don't have much time and may not be able to get to it. It'd help me if you could summarise your changes and explain why you now think it clearly shows notability according to WP:NPROF - which criteria for notability in those guidelines does he fulfil? Lijil (talk) 12:27, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I made the article look less like a CV as you suggested, for example, added sections, changed the narration a littile bit, improved grammar, and improved the Infobox. I can definitely improve the article more; nonetheless, I want someone to review the article and provide feedback.
Best regards, Shadowfax33 (talk) 18:38, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for explaining. I also wrote "Could you rewrite the article to make it more clear what he is notable for, if you think he does fulfil the criteria?" Can you explain what it is you think makes Andrzej Derdziuk notable in the Wikipedia sense? Why should there be a Wikipedia article about him? If he doesn't fulfil the criteria for notability I can't approve the draft. If I did it would just be deleted by somebody else, so it's important to make sure. WP:NPROF explains the criteria for notability. Lijil (talk) 11:29, 5 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thank you for your quick reply and clarification. The best argument from my perspective why Andrzej Derdziuk is notable to have a Wikipedia article is that he already has an existing Wikipedia article on the Polish Wikipedia Andrzej Derdziuk. I do believe that he is an established and notable person who could have an English Wikipedia article. I will try to improve the article further this week, and hopefully, this article will go through the submission process.
Best regards, Shadowfax33 (talk) 13:49, 5 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! The English Wikipedia has different rules for inclusion ("notability") than other language Wikipedias, so being in the Polish Wikipedia doesn't necessarily mean he should have an article in the English language Wikipedia. Could you point to the criteria in WP:PROF or WP:ANYBIO that Derdziuk fulfils? Lijil (talk) 14:04, 5 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Good point, Polish Wikipedia dose follow different rules for biography articles. I read through some of the criteria for WP:PROF and WP:ANYBIO, I can't be certain for sure that the article fulfils the criteria, but I do think he dose meet some points of the criteria for example from WP:PROF article, Criteria section:
  1. The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources.
  2. The person has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association (e.g., a National Academy of Sciences or the Royal Society) or a fellow of a major scholarly society which reserves fellow status as a highly selective honor (e.g., Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers or Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Physics).
  3. The person has held a distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research, a named chair appointment that indicates a comparable level of achievement, or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon.
Best regards, Shadowfax33 (talk) 11:06, 6 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Great! To help me here, can you point to how specifically Derdziuk fulfils one or more of these criteria? Which of your sources should his research had a significant impact? Or which sources support criteria 2 or 3? Lijil (talk) 14:48, 6 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
1.The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources.
He fulfils this criterion because he has a significant impact on research, specifically in Catholic Theology; he also participates in conventions, presentations, seminars ect: here are some sources.

I provided some sources and a brief explanation. If you would like, I could elaborate more, providing more sources.
Best regards, Shadowfax33 (talk) 15:59, 7 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, but these sources aren't enough. If you read WP:NPROF you'll see it's not enough to be a regular professor - all professors give talks and have ResearchGate accounts and so forth. Having Habilitation also is not the same as being in a National Academy of Science. And being a professor of Moral Theology is not the same as having a Distinguished Professor, which is a specific kind of professorship in some countries. So I'm sorry but it doesn't look as though this person should have an article in English language Wikipedia. Lijil (talk) 17:40, 7 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fair point, Andzej Derdziuk might not be a notable person to have a Wikipedia article. I submitted the draft article of Andzej Derdziuk around two weeks ago, now I m waiting for someone to review it. I hope it gets accepted, although that might not be so. Regardless, thank you for helping me out while being busy, I appreciate that :)

Warning

[edit]

I didn't need the "stop" sign... no single trace of history on wp of violating any rule. Therefore, I have removed your unwarranted warning from my talk page. And it's my right to do so.

Best. CoryGlee (talk) 12:59, 5 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi CoryGlee! Thanks for contributing to the Wikipedia. The message on your talk page is automated from the draft review system, and the "Stop" sign was for the draft article I rejected, not for you as a user. Hope you have a good day! Lijil (talk) 14:02, 5 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, Mrs Jill, it was a tempered & quick (also automatic) response not to the draft being rejected (which I can now see why), but to what I perceived as a user-warning, and I'm hyper-self-observant of my behaviour on WP.
Sorry, once more. And do have a nice week ahead. Thank you. :-) CoryGlee (talk) 14:46, 5 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

AfC feedback - Georg Ludwig Ulex

[edit]

Hi - thanks very much for your feedback on my recent draft submission on Georg Ludwig Ulex!

I tracked down the original relevant references listed in the Hamburg University source and have substituted these where appropriate, as well as fleshing out the body of the article a little. These references also support the statements regarding Ulex's political career.

As an aside, I did some digging on those Google Scholar articles claiming he was Swedish - as far as I can tell, this is an error unique to struvite kidney stone literature (of all things!) and seems to be a propagated error overruled by more reliable sources.

I understand there's a substantial backlog in reviewing drafts, but if you have a second to cast your eye over it again I'd be very grateful. Thanks!Epsilon.Prota talk 06:17, 10 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for digging up the extra references, that's really helpful. The draft looks great now - I can't accept right now as I'm on mobile without a laptop but will do it later today. Thanks so much for finding better sources. I also thought perhaps the Swedish references were just wrong - having a well-referenced Wikipedia article about this might well help fix this repeated error in the future. If you haven't already, perhaps you add a note to the article on Struvite stating that the GERMAN Ulex discovered it - that might stop future kidney stone researchers repeating the mistake! Lijil (talk) 07:47, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Wonderful, thanks very much! Good idea w.r.t Struvite, I'll get that sorted. Epsilon.Prota talk 20:07, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Thank you for providing an comment about the initial draft of the article! However, I would like to point out that many other articles for Season 7 episodes, from S07E01 and until S07E10, do not have coverage from multiple sources either, yet they have been approved for publication nonetheless. Since I am a relatively inexperienced editor when it comes to creating new Wikipedia articles, I will appreciate your guidance in this particular matter. Please let me know if this issue can be resolved by adding an additional link to an online review from another independent website in the article text. Thank you.

Ulrike Nagel

[edit]

Hi,

you declined the page Draft:Ulrike Nagel with remark "it's possible she is notable per the a Dutch Wikipedia but not the English one. For the English one she would need to have significant coverage of her as a person in reliable independent sources, mot just confirmation that she is a journalist."

I could not find more suitable references in English -- how can I best make sure this page is relevant for Wikipedia in English as well? Thanks for any help.

Hi Lijil. Thank you for your work on Blikk (artwork). Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Thanks for creating this page for an artwork; it is interesting there isn't as yet a page for it in Norwegian. Regardless, it is sufficiently referenced to demonstrate notability. Recreation after more than 50 years is also a marker of its lasting impact.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Hi. Thank you for reviewing my draft. He meets criteria 3 of NPROF. He is a fellow of National Academy of Inventors and American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. I have cited the references for these at the bottom in the awards and honors section. He also meets criteria 1. He has over 40,000 citations] according to Google Scholar. HRShami (talk) 10:53, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! The National Academy of Inventors wouldn't fulfil the requirement as it's not very selective, anyone who registers a patent in the USA can become a member. If Dr Loeb has been elected a AIMBE fellow that might fulfil the criteria, but I can't find any verification of that online. Can you provide a source that is not from his university profile but a reliable source? For instance the AIMBE website announcement? Lijil (talk) 15:34, 20 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is the link to AIMBE fellowship. I have cited it at the end in the Awards and Honors section. Is it better to cite it in the lead section as well? I looked at featured articles, which do not have any citations in the lead section so I did not any citations in the lead section. HRShami (talk) 04:35, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Nuggets

[edit]

Hi Lijil. I noticed that you removed a link to a Richard and the Young Lions song article that I added to the Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era, 1965–1968 page. I had made a large expansion to that page based on a reissue of the compilation a few years ago, and I added links to all the songs included in the reissue that I noticed had their own pages. I'm not sure what you mean by "linkbombing" in your edit reason, but my intention there wasn't malicious, I had no previous interaction with the "Open Up Your Door" page, and I hope you were assuming good faith with your edits. Thanks. Doc Strange (talk) 19:50, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I shouldn't have used the word "linkbombing", sorry for not assuming good faith there. But the song you linked to is just a redirect to the main article for Richard and the Young Lions so it doesn't make sense as the band is already linked from the track list. I left the link to article about the band. Hope that makes sense! Lijil (talk) 08:33, 26 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
