Your submission at Articles for creation: Hussein Fahes (May 22)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by KylieTastic was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Thank you for uploading File:Hatem Eid.jpeg. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Vladlen Manilov / 17:00, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Hatem Eid.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.instagram.com/p/CneGwRUMNuV/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Problems with upload of File:Sagesse.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Sagesse.jpeg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Hatem Eid moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Hatem Eid, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) WP:NFOOTY is no longer a valid SNG, so GNG must be met. It needs several refs from independent, reliable, secondary sources to pass WP:GNG. It should have at least 3 of those. Please remember that routine sports coverage does not satisfy GNG, and that interviews, being primary sources, do not go to notability either. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Ali Hourani moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Ali Hourani. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources and appears to be a work in progress that is not yet ready for the main space. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Annh07 (talk) 16:55, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon

Hello Celinesalloum3. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Celinesalloum3. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Celinesalloum3|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 14:33, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

dear, when I started the page for Ahmad kaawar I didn't know what to mention. Of course I'm not getting paid, he is a friend of mine and I wanted to help him improve his media and being well known more 185.81.140.55 (talk) 14:36, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please log in before you post, so that your posts are properly attributed to you.
If you are his friend, then you should declare a conflict of interest on your user page, please see WP:COI. 331dot (talk) 14:43, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You appear to have exclusively edited about soccer/football players. Are you friends with all of them? 331dot (talk) 14:46, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
should I delete it and write it again?
And yes, i was trying to learn how to write but the last one I was working really hard on it. And btw I work in the Sagesse Club and these players play with the team that's why I'm close to them and specially Ahmad Celinesalloum3 (talk) 14:50, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If you work for the club, you are a paid editor and you are required by the Wikipedia Terms of Use to formally disclose that. You must do so now, see my instructions above. 331dot (talk) 14:52, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Let me check okay. But I'm not getting paid as an editor. I work in the club as an assistant team manager which is far from this .. no player is paying me for this but of course I will check Celinesalloum3 (talk) 14:54, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You do not need to be specifically paid to edit to be a paid editor, nor do you need to be specifically instructed to edit. Your salary from the club is sufficient to trigger this requirement. 331dot (talk) 14:55, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
can you tell me exactly what should I do? I really want it to be approved Celinesalloum3 (talk) 14:57, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Once you disclose as a paid editor, I will tell you anything that you want to know. 331dot (talk) 14:58, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
how do I do that? Celinesalloum3 (talk) 15:01, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I provided instructions above, but I will repeat the relevant portion here; You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Celinesalloum3. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Celinesalloum3|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}} 331dot (talk) 15:05, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Can you check? Celinesalloum3 (talk) 15:11, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • You did make a statement above, I took the liberty of posting it to your user page as intended.(User:Celinesalloum3) 331dot (talk) 15:13, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Now what can I do to improve the page in order to make it approved Celinesalloum3 (talk) 15:16, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Language like "football journey" needs to be removed(that's just one example). That's promotional marketing speak. Articles need to be written with a neutral point of view in a very dry manner without embellishment or talking up the subject.
See the basic notability criteria for athletes. This has changed in the last few years- there is no longer a specific list of criteria for football players that, as long as one aspect applied, merited the football player an article. Football players are treated no differently than any other person- they must receive significant coverage in independent reliable sources that you can summarize in an article. Most of your sources do not seem to be significant coverage, and just serve to document their statistics or career. 331dot (talk) 15:29, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
alright, i have no experience in editing so I'm trying to learn. I tried to edit couple of expressions to be as neutral. As for the references, unfortunately this is how a lebanese football player is treated in Lebanon so no coverage until the player is really known and that’s what I'm trying to do to help him. If I can to anything else other than these articles and interviews please just let me know Celinesalloum3 (talk) 15:35, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, Wikipedia can do nothing about how sources in Lebanon or elsewhere write about football players in Lebanon- we can't give a pass to our requirements(especially as there are stricter requirements when writing about living people). You cannot use Wikipedia to generate notability- a person must already be notable to merit inclusion here. Put another way, Wikipedia is the last place to write about a topic, not the first.
Have you considered editing the Arabic Wikipedia? It is a separate project with its own policies- and as such what you have written may be acceptable there(if translated to Arabic) 331dot (talk) 15:47, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No haven't tried it yet, but I will. For now I made a minor edit and waiting for it to be checked and I will see what I can do about it Celinesalloum3 (talk) 15:49, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
