Speedy deletion nomination of Dotted I with curve at bottom
[edit]Hello BodhiHarp,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Dotted I with curve at bottom for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.
If you don't want Dotted I with curve at bottom to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

- I created the article because the Dotted I with curve at bottom links to Dotted I with curve at bottom which doesn't exist instead Draft:Dotted I curve at bottom exists I don't know how to rename so anyone can easily view it from any Cyrillic page on the right side BodhiHarp (talk) 02:56, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Ra (Cyrillic)
[edit]
Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as Ra (Cyrillic), is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Remsense ‥ 论 19:48, 18 January 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Voiceless linguolabial nasal. Notability of drafts
[edit]I see that you are working on multiple related drafts, including Draft:Small capital reversed R, that have obstacles to becoming articles. Several sources there appear to be WP:User generated, and others may be insufficient for showing general notability. Some of the other drafts have not started referencing at all. Magazines, newspapers, and books are often useful. WeyerStudentOfAgrippa (talk) 20:29, 11 April 2025 (UTC)

- Hi @BodhiHarp, I saw your post on the AfC help desk. I rejected your article since I believed it had little potential to be expanded beyond its current state. As of writing, the draft only details the diacritics symbols used in its notation and contains virtually no information about the sound itself. If you can find coverage on reliable sources specifically discussing this sound in disordered speech, I will be happy to un-reject your draft. Ca talk to me! 03:33, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- I see that the upper-pharyngeal plosive articles are sounds also not found in any real-world languages. While I argue that they have more substantial coverage than the voiceless linguolabial nasal, I will un-reject your draft for the sake of fairness. Ca talk to me! 03:45, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

[edit] Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! – PharyngealImplosive7 (talk) 19:12, 14 August 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, BodhiHarp,

sampa
[edit]we don't need to say that the sampa equivalent of 'n' is 'n', we're not consistent between or even within articles on whether we use it, it's just a hack that's already given in the info box, and that we shouldn't be promoting it more than Kirshenbaum or braille et al. — kwami (talk) 22:28, 20 August 2025 (UTC)
- also, unless we're going to list all transcriptions in the info box, we should stick to IPA. you're adding a lot of unbalanced clutter to the articles. — kwami (talk) 22:34, 20 August 2025 (UTC)

The article Turned r with mid-height left hook has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No evidence of any notability for this.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 07:50, 26 August 2025 (UTC)

Non-notable articles
[edit]Please take a look at WP:GNG. Sounds that are found in ExtIPA are not notable unless they are 1) common enough in disordered speech to be covered or 2) found in real-world languages (and are mentioned in reliable papers about the language, not databases that don't cite sources). I've either redirect-ified or nominated several articles that you have created like this (such as voiced linguolabial lateral approximant and voiced palatal trill, but most recently, bidental percussive and voiced linguolabial lateral fricative). – PharyngealImplosive7 (talk) 03:41, 31 August 2025 (UTC)
warning
[edit]when you add something to an article, and others object, you need to take it to talk
Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. An edit war occurs when two or more users begin repeatedly changing content—in a back-and-forth fashion—back to how they think it should be, despite knowing that other editors disagree with their changes. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward creating a version of the page that represents consensus among the editors involved. The best practice at this stage is to discuss the disagreements, issues, and concerns at-hand, not to engage in edit-warring. Wikipedia provides a page that details how this is accomplished. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also, please keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. — kwami (talk) 22:46, 31 August 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Voiced linguolabial lateral fricative
[edit]
A tag has been placed on Voiced linguolabial lateral fricative requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
— ERcheck (talk) 20:26, 13 September 2025 (UTC)

retroflex trill
[edit]i asked the icpla, and they thought the arrow was a good idea -- but for all sequential sounds, including affricates, leaving the IPA slur only for simultaneous sounds like double articulation. so i think unless we have attestation, we should stick to standard IPA. [also, it would be better to have the arrow above, which isn't supported by fonts yet.] — kwami (talk) 19:42, 15 September 2025 (UTC)

- @BodhiHarp please make a habit of explaining your changes in edit summaries. Nearly all of your user 2000+ contributions do not have one, and many times they end up being reverted or in an edit war dispute. In addition, your unreversions often add no additional information or sourcing, override the talk page discussions disputing the content you are adding, and lack any edit summary explanation as to why the information should be put back. oklopfer (💬) 19:54, 22 September 2025 (UTC)
