The zOMG barnstar!
I hereby award this barnstar for creating Algospeak (book) in faster-than-real-time as it came out. As ever at the forefront of brainrot representation on the wiki, thank you for your hard work!  Frzzl  talk; contribs  22:31, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the award lol — I actually preordered the book to use it as a source in the article algospeak. Ca talk to me! 02:58, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Fair Planet

[edit]

Hello. You recently rejected my submitted draft for Draft:Fair Planet, stating that "most of the sourced currently cited in this draft are written by Fair Planet themselves or their partners, making them non-independent". While this is true, I would like to make the point that this NGO, by its very nature, is very unlikely to get much independent coverage. This is because it's an NPO whose benefactors are smallholder farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa. Farming in general, and smallholder farming in particular are two topics that don't get as much attention to begin with; add to that this is happening in the poorest continent, in some of the poorest countries in that content (about $1000 GDP per capita in target countries); Most importantly, once you realize that the benefactors of the NGO, who are subsistence farmers, are almost entirely illiterate, you can understand why there isn't much independent mentioning of this NGO online. Honestly, there's almost nothing online beyond what I cited.

That being said, my article does include some sources that confirm that indeed the NGO operates in the target countries in the way it describes in its own publishing - first and foremost the Dutch government, some of the suppliers of the seeds, and there are also a few independent sources that write about this NGO in English. UncleMatt (talk) 13:48, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, unfortunately without independent sources, it is impossible to write a neutral article that balances multiple perspective—that is why the article inclusion exists, regardless of the organization's situation. All you can do is to wait for independent, reliable and in-depth sources to be written about your organization. In the meanwhile, you can explore alternative venues, such as Substack or Medium (website).
In the meantime, can you link the independent sources you mentioned here? Ca talk to me! 21:49, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Here's a list of independent sources I used in the article:
In addition here are a few which I have overlooked before:
And a few in other languages:
Would it help if I use some of the above and remove the sources from Fair Planet's own website? What if I mark the article as a "stub"? UncleMatt (talk) 11:21, 23 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Draft: National Bird Initiative - review compliment

[edit]

I noticed you archived our User Talk conversation, and I wanted to thank you one last time for your comments and encouragement back in late July: "With those issues fixed and more independent sources added, I think the draft will have a good chance of being accepted! Let me know if you have more questions." I did make significant changes and submitted the draft last week. Again, thank-you!! Tmcfarlandpr (talk) 17:01, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Article declined (Chemical Parks). How can I make it Wiki compliant?

[edit]

I recently submitted an article about the "Chemical Parks" but it got declined.

This was the reason given - "Your draft shows signs of having been generated by a large language model, such as ChatGPT. Their outputs usually have multiple issues that prevent them from meeting our guidelines on writing articles. These include:

Please address these issues. The best way is usually to read reliable sources and summarize them, instead of using a large language model. See our help page on large language models."

I did use an AI to "edit" the article to make it better and perfect the grammar, but it was not entirely written using AI. Can you help me in getting this live? Newsenthu (talk) 05:39, 26 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The main problem is that most of the article lack sources and comprise WP:Original Research. That is, the article is mostly composed of novel conclusions not found in the cited sources. In addition, the articles reads like an essay than a purely informative text. Please do not depend on AI to write articles. Ca talk to me! 07:42, 26 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Niccolissoni (10:39, 1 September 2025)

[edit]

Hi! 👋 I am a new member and user of Wikipedia: I just wanted to say hello to you as you are my mentor. I will try some small edits and get back to you in case I need your knowledge and help; however, I have a few initial questions. Would you suggest editing my user page right away? What info should I write in? What's your suggestion about the Signature in the Preferences settings? --Niccolissoni (talk) 10:39, 1 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, welcome to Wikipedia! Feel free to edit your userpage at any time--it is a place for you to introduce yourself and your contributions. You can customize your signature in the preferences if you wish, if you have some CSS knowledge. I have left couple of links on your talk page (User talk:Niccolissoni) to get you started. Question from Niccolissoni (06:30, 4 September 2025)

[edit]

I have gone through several edits now and I begin to feel that I want to remove the maintenance template in a lot of cases... I never did, but I'd love to connect with the author of the template to discuss it. Is there a way to do this? --Niccolissoni (talk) 06:30, 4 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you are free to remove maintanance templates on your own if you believe the issues have been fixed. I agree with your comment that Ge Li does not contain promotional wording (or not anymore at least). Still, if you want to the find who inserted the maintenance template, you can browse through the wp:page history to see when the template was inserted. It might not be worth contacting the editor if the edit is years old. I hope this helps! Ca talk to me! 22:55, 4 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Precipice363 (16:01, 4 September 2025)

[edit]

Hello, I'm trying to translate pages but I am unable to copy templates. How do I do that? --Precipice363 (talk) 16:01, 4 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, which templates are you unable to copy? Templates in different languages have different names or lack one altogether, so some templates may break upon translation. Ca talk to me! 22:57, 4 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Child safety on Roblox

[edit]

On 7 September 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Child safety on Roblox, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that at least 30 people have been arrested since 2018 for allegedly abusing children whom they met on Roblox? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Child safety on Roblox. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Child safety on Roblox), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Draft:Steal a Brainrot

[edit]

Hi Ca, I see you've done a lot of work on Draft:Steal a Brainrot, thanks for that! Just to say that if you get it to a stage where it's ready for publication, don't let my rejection stand in the way, just go ahead and publish it; obviously I trust you as a NPR to know when something is good enough. I rejected it because it was repeatedly popping up in the pending pool (under at least two different titles) without any real progress being made on the notability front, but if and when notability can be established then there's obviously no reason for this to remain rejected. Best, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:28, 7 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the word of encouragement! Since you and two people in WP:VG had no objections to publishing -- I'll do just that. Ca talk to me! 12:06, 7 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
