Disambiguation link notification for September 4
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Canada Songs, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bass. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Melodic death metal
[edit]Carcass are sourced as pioneers of melodic death metal by multiple major publications. Early swedish death metal bands like Entombed and Dismember were not explicitly melodic death metal and drew more of their influence from hardcore punk. CatTits10 (talk) 00:04, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- Uhh... what. Where did this conversation about Entombed and Dismember come from? Those bands have nothing to do with melodeath, those are early swedeath bands. In Flames and At the Gates were releasing melodic death metal music YEARS before Carcass were playing the style...
Can you stop reverting my edits?
[edit]You're starting to aggravate me and I'll get someone to block you. 162.198.249.105 (talk) 13:31, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- Oh I'm so scared. Go ahead and try. 💀 I'm sure they'll take your complaints very seriously from the genre warring IP editor who has been blocked before for it
Explain, please
[edit]Please explain your edits in an edit summary. Drmies (talk) 15:17, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
The IP editor added "hardcore punk" unsourced. And then I decided to also remove "extreme metal" because it's an umbrella term and doesn't do much to explain the type of music, metalcore is a hybridization of hardcore and extreme metal anyway as it says on the article for metalcore itself so I didn't think it was necessary. My apologies for any confusions. Lil Sad Lil Happy (talk)
- Do that in an edit summary when you revert, please. Thanks. Drmies (talk) 17:20, 21 October 2024 (UTC)

Heads up regarding non-diffusing subcategories
[edit]Regarding your edit to Sprung - Category:Nintendo DS-only games is a non-diffusing subcategory of Category:Nintendo DS games, meaning having both categories is apt and not redundant. Waxworker (talk) 18:01, 5 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia. Unfortunately, content you added to Transcranial magnetic stimulation appears to be a minority or fringe viewpoint, and appears to have given undue weight to this minority viewpoint, and has been reverted. To maintain a neutral point of view, an idea that is not broadly supported by scholarship in its field must not be given undue weight in an article about a mainstream idea. Feel free to use the article's talk page to discuss this, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. - I feel like i end up reverting yr edits a lot and i kinda wish we discussed or talked about it, ion wanna like create animosity w/ you. // Chchcheckit (talk) 20:08, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Chchcheckit: Well then the solution is simple, don't revert my edits,
- ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) - haha I do recommend reading WP:OWNERSHIP, i respect your ambition to getting so many pages to GA status, but that doesn't mean your writing style is the absolute epitome of perfection. Everyone has a different brain, and as such it isn't uncommon that someone else's contribution could potentially sound better (to themselves) than what you saved the page as. I mean I personally dont see what the big deal is over omitting 2 producers' nationalities, but if it makes you feel better.. Lil Happy Lil Sad :): 01:43, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
- i don't own the article and by no means consider my editing style perfect (have you seen the 2+ years of edits on Spit?????); its moreso i don't understand why and would like to know why idk if theres a policy or whatever i overlooked or smth. sometimes i ask too many questions. bold claim though //Chchcheckit (talk) 11:14, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

Edits on Sematary
[edit]Just wanted to bring this to your talk page to avoid any further edit warring over at Sematary. There have been a couple of issues in contention that we've gone back-and-forth about a bit, the main one being whether to include the bit about his music being inspired by witch house and black metal. As far as sources go for that claim:
- Paste review of Butcher House:
[His] production...takes some of the best elements of witch house and black metal.
- Pitchfork review of October Country:
To build your own Haunted Mound, the NorCal rap collective founded by the ghoulishly gaudy rapper-producer Sematary, you'll need...Salem's anesthetic witch house...
;The Haunted Mound founding member reunites with Sematary...and sets the bar for witch house revivalism.
- Flood influences list:
[Sematary] tak[es] each of witch house's reference points and refurbish[es] them for a uniquely visceral backwoods terror.
;These remixes were my inspo to try and combine witch house–ish synths with rapping.
(from Sematary) - Revolver announcement of "Wendigo":
[Sematary's] sound... fus[es] psychedelic SoundCloud-era rap à la Bladee and Yung Lean with menacing horrorcore drums and spooky witch house synths.
- Alternative Press trap metal list:
Directly sampling and subtly referencing black-metal tropes (pause "CRUCIFIXION" above at its third second for a textbook example of '90s black-metal visuals), Sematary's Rainbow Bridge trilogy strikes with a similar type of chaotic, lo-fi intensity.
- Dazed interview:
I like a lot of heavy metal, black metal. A lot of the older witch house was mixed pretty loud, heavy, crunchy and unforgiving. So all those influences put together, it's just how it ends up, because I want to make songs that sound like that. Crunchy is fun.
(from Sematary) - SLUG review of Rainbow Bridge 3:
slashing his way through black metal samples and instrumentation
;Coupling newer, cloud rap sounds with extreme metal music
;DJ Sorrow...uses samples that sound more like black metal than rap.
You've also continously added "blackened trap" as a genre without any sourcing, and a search for the phrase "blackened trap" with "Sematary" only yields this Latvian website which is pretty obviously using the Wikipedia page as its own source (from "horrorcore" and "drill" to "blackened trap" (this was in the early years of his career)
)". You removed the entirety of the guest appearances section from his discography on the basis that it was unnecessary, but most if not all featured discographies feature a similar section (see: Angel Haze discography#Guest appearances, Dido discography#Guest appearances, Lil Debbie discography#Guest appearances, etc.) and it's pretty standard among all discographies on WP.
I am willing to discuss this further here, but will probably be adding/removing the information that I mentioned above in the next day or so unless we come to a different consensus. benǝʇᴉɯ 09:44, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
- I am not trying to edit war, what the sources say is fine. I didnt personally add "blackened trap" as a genre but I kept it on the article when others removed it because I just assumed they were genre warring Lil Happy Lil Sad :): 11:29, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
