Unsourced

[edit]

What do you unsourced on my edit on the Electric Company episodes? LPCDDude (talk) 20:26, 12 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@LPCDDude: - The claim that there is no "no word recap cold opening" in the episode is unsourced - reliable sources discussing this should be cited to demonstrate that its absence is notable. Waxworker (talk) 16:23, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I just don't know why they just went to Hector burying the treasure. Seems like a waste to me, right? This is season 2 and most of the episodes have Jessica's five words since then. LPCDDude (talk) 12:32, 14 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Tommy Tedesco

[edit]

Got your note about not adding information under the "as leader" page. Since none of the other "as leader" albums had notes, I did not think it was necessary, sorry. This album is outstanding, and I simply felt it should be included since he was the leader of this session just months before he died: https://www.discogs.com/release/11022885-Tommy-Tedesco-The-Best-For-Last

You can add it as you wish, since I do not wish to step on any toes. Or not. I'm sure the fans like myself who visit this page would want to know about this fine collection. The album was released by his family on CD Baby. Anthony Richardson (talk) 20:43, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Anthony Richardson: - Discogs is an unreliable WP:USERGENERATED source per WP:DISCOGS - ideally the other entries on the article should be sourced as well, which isn't a good example to follow. If reliable sources discuss the album, it can be re-added with a citation. Waxworker (talk) 15:28, 14 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi, it's me that edited the cream horn. We don't have the article for cream horns in Indonesia, so I can't put a link to a Wikipedia page. But yes, we really call it kue cum-cum here in Indonesia. Some people call it kue cong-cong because it looks like a sea snail, and some people call it kue terompet because it looks like a trumpet.

And sorry I accidentally edited your page, I didn't realize I misclicked because I'm playing game right now. Heavenly Burnout (talk) 14:52, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A furious IP user called 96.19.230.73 which he thinks his name is Dash, had sent me a message about his request over the name change of the article of production company HIT Entertainment and on my talk page history he said me in a furious way like an attacking a newcommer. So i was thinking that could you give him a warning and block him for this? 82.6.137.98 (talk) 20:40, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@82.6.137.98: - I am not an administrator, and cannot block anyone. If you believe that there is a behavioural issue warranting administrator attention, you may make a report at WP:ANI; them writing "I noticed you were hating me" on your talk page is mildly uncivil, however I'm not sure that it rises to an ANI-level issue unless this is part of a larger pattern of behaviour. Why are you removing my revisions

[edit]

Waxworker, I have been noticing that you have been removing my revisions with the pages I edit, I’m telling you everything I put is real, just because it’s unsourced doesn’t mean you remove it, and there are some pages I edited that I put sources in it but you just remove it again. I would like for you to stop doing this please. 96.232.8.245 (talk) 17:07, 25 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@96.232.8.245: - The onus is on the editor adding content to source it per WP:BURDEN - Help:Referencing for beginners has guidance regarding citing sources that may be helpful, and WP:RSP has a (non-exhaustive) list of reliable/unreliable sources that have previously been discussed by other editors. URLs in edit summaries are not the same as a citation, and IMDB is an unreliable WP:USERGENERATED source per WP:IMDB. Waxworker (talk) 17:11, 25 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
My source on Eric Stuart's birthday can be googled. I also have him on Facebook with his birthday being known. I don't think I have his permission to share his Facebook though. 50.171.151.210 (talk) 20:34, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@50.171.151.210: - Birthdates are a sensitive piece of personal information, and must be sourced per WP:BLP and WP:DOB. The onus is on the editor adding content to source it per WP:BURDEN - Help:Referencing for beginners has guidance regarding citing sources that may be helpful. A "verified social media account of an article subject" may be used as a source for WP:DOB, but if there's nothing confirming that the Facebook account is him, or if the account is considered personal and not connected to his career, it shouldn't be used. Guide to temporary accounts

[edit]

Hello, Waxworker. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.

Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users' IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.

How do temporary accounts work?

Editing from a temporary account
  • When a logged-out user completes an edit or a logged action for the first time, a cookie will be set in this user's browser and a temporary account tied with this cookie will be automatically created for them. This account's name will follow the pattern: ~2025-12345-67 (a tilde, year of creation, a number split into units of 5).
  • All subsequent actions by the temporary account user will be attributed to this username. The cookie will expire 90 days after its creation. As long as it exists, all edits made from this device will be attributed to this temporary account. It will be the same account even if the IP address changes, unless the user clears their cookies or uses a different device or web browser.
  • A record of the IP address used at the time of each edit will be stored for 90 days after the edit. Users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will be able to see the underlying IP addresses.
  • As a measure against vandalism, there are two limitations on the creation of temporary accounts:
    • There has to be a minimum of 10 minutes between subsequent temporary account creations from the same IP (or /64 range in case of IPv6).
    • There can be a maximum of 6 temporary accounts created from an IP (or /64 range) within a period of 24 hours.

Temporary account IP viewer user right

How to enable IP Reveal

Impact for administrators

  • It will be possible to block many abusers by just blocking their temporary accounts. A blocked person won't be able to create new temporary accounts quickly if the admin selects the autoblock option.
  • It will still be possible to block an IP address or IP range.
  • Temporary accounts will not be retroactively applied to contributions made before the deployment. On Special:Contributions, you will be able to see existing IP user contributions, but not new contributions made by temporary accounts on that IP address. Instead, you should use Special:IPContributions for this (see a video about IPContributions in a gallery below).

Rules about IP information disclosure

  • Publicizing an IP address gained through TAIV access is generally not allowed (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 previously edited as 192.0.2.1 or ~2025-12345-67's IP address is 192.0.2.1).
  • Publicly linking a TA to another TA is allowed if "reasonably believed to be necessary". (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 and ~2025-12345-68 are likely the same person, so I am counting their reverts together toward 3RR, but not Hey ~2025-12345-68, you did some good editing as ~2025-12345-67)
  • See Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer § What can and can't be said for more detailed guidelines.

Useful tools for patrollers

  • It is possible to view if a user has opted-in to view temporary account IPs via the User Info card, available in Preferences → Appearance → Advanced options → Tick Enable the user info card
    • This feature also makes it possible for anyone to see the approximate count of temporary accounts active on the same IP address range.
  • Special:IPContributions allows viewing all edits and temporary accounts connected to a specific IP address or IP range.
  • Similarly, Special:GlobalContributions supports global search for a given temporary account's activity.
  • The auto-reveal feature (see video below) allows users with the right permissions to automatically reveal all IP addresses for a limited time window.

I blanked my page. I know this won't excuse what I've done, but nonetheless, Waxworker, if you're reading this, I'm sorry for plagiarizing your page. Polavarian (talk) 20:44, 31 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't actually remember if there is anything wrong with it. I just wanted to let Waxworker know, just to be safe. fanfanboy (blocktalk) 21:14, 31 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Polavarian: - Using others' userpages as a reference for making your own is fine, but copying my entire userpage (including content saying you've created/edited artices that you haven't) seems inappropriate to me, though I'm not sure that there's any specific policy against it. Ultimately this seems like it was in good faith, and removing the copy of my userpage resolves the matter. Category:Userbox galleries and Category:User namespace themed userbox galleries have many lists of userboxes related to various subjects that may be helpful to browse if you want to find userboxes related to your interests. Cartoon Network Philippines Power Rangers

[edit]

Power Rangers series on CN PH sources

https://web.archive.org/web/20090920031408/http://www.clickthecity.com/tv/tvnetworks.php?netid=103 WilkersonAddict (talk) 15:53, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@WilkersonAddict: - The reliability of ClickTheCity hasn't previously been discussed at WP:RSN and Wikipedia:Tambayan Philippines/Sources also has no consensus as to its reliability, but it seems fine to me as a source for Power Rangers Jungle Fury having aired on the channel, though it doesn't discuss Destroy Build Destroy or either show being "exclusive" to Cartoon Network Philippines. Waxworker (talk) 17:30, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I just know that the Power Rangers series has been airing ever since in the Philippines. Because I live there. And I thought the Asian feed also have PR but it turns out only the Philippine feed has it.
Another evidence:
https://l1nk.dev/yJr6H
I also don't get why I need to have source when some of the content there don't even have sources sited. You should check that too. And as for ClickTheCity, anything before 2018 is reliable. WilkersonAddict (talk) 19:50, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@WilkersonAddict: - Can you elaborate on what the linked evidence is? I'm unable to view it as I don't directly click on links to websites I don't recognize, Archive.ph is unable to archive the link properly, Archive.org saves the link as a redirect to something else, and Archive.org links sometimes 'break containment' and open in the main browser. Other content on the article being unsourced is an issue, and not a good example to be emulated - such unsourced content may be challenged and removed at any time. Personal experience watching the channel is also WP:OR and unreliable. Waxworker (talk) 17:47, 4 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The link is a video of a Power Rangers CN PH bumper on YouTube. I think someone from Southeast Asia should be managing this page. WilkersonAddict (talk) 18:33, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@WilkersonAddict: - Youtube is a generally unreliable WP:USERGENERATED source per WP:RSPYT, unless the channel that uploaded the video is that of a reliable source, e.g. an official Cartoon Network youtube channel. Waxworker (talk) 18:38, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lance Robertson's birth year.

[edit]

He celebrated his 60th birthday this year, and also his IMBD page (which is already sourced on his article) also says that he was born in 1965 BratzGurl254 (talk) 20:44, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@BratzGurl254: - IMDB is an unreliable WP:USERGENERATED source per WP:IMDB - having IMDB as an external link is not the same as using it as a source. The linked instagram source only indicates birth month and day, not year, and there's no source cited saying that 60th birthday was this year. Dates of birth are a sensitive piece of personal information per WP:DOB, and must be properly sourced, or be removed. Waxworker (talk) 20:20, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If IMBD is an unreliable source, than how come it's used on this site for extended links, huh?
Doesn't make any sense to me. BratzGurl254 (talk) 23:36, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Franco Barbi (Lupara Citation)

[edit]

Is the official Outlast Trials trailer for the character sufficient citation to bring up the depiction of a lupara for the page? Still getting used to the citation system SantaCarlaResident (talk) 21:11, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@SantaCarlaResident: - Per MOS:POPCULT, reliable secondary sources need to discuss the cultural impact of the appearance - "Cultural aspects of the subject should be included only if they are supported by reliable secondary or tertiary sources that discuss the subject's cultural impact in some depth". Something like an official trailer discussing the gun may be fine for the article for the game, but an official source like this is a primary source - secondary sources (e.g. something like IGN or GameSpot) discussing how important the gun is to the game and story in depth (not a few sentences or one paragraph), and how this depiction of the gun has impacted pop culture, would be suitable. Help:Referencing for beginners also has guidance regarding citing sources that may be helpful. Waxworker (talk) 17:51, 4 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
