About your RFA

[edit]

I noticed that you did not follow all the instructions at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Nominate, therefore your RFA is not properly formatted. In addition, at this point you have not been around Wikipedia long enough for people to get to know you or form an opinion about you. You need to have a positive reputation in the community in order for a RFA to be successful.

I would encourage you to read the material at Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship and Wikipedia:Advice for RfA candidates, hang around Wikipedia and get involved in things like maintenance tasks, and consider an RFA after 1-2 years of constructive activity here. In the meantime, I can delete the malformed RFA page you have created. Would you like me to do that? ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 15:48, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, please.

A caution and an inquiry

[edit]

Hello Elijah Wilder. I know that Wikipedia can be a difficult place to navigate for new users, but I must caution you that many of your recent edits have been inappropriate. For example, your recent PRODs of Circle jerk (disambiguation) were neither executed correctly, nor did they have a clear basis (it's not clear what you mean by "Inappropriate Definition"), and this edit introduced factual errors (by, for example, replacing "IgM" with "IBM") in a way that is indistinguishable from vandalism. These are things that consume community time, and create real issues for our readers and can result in sanctions if repeated; please be more careful. On a separate note: Have you had any previous accounts on Wikipedia? --Blablubbs (talk) 15:43, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, this is my only account. I apologize for my actions. I will try to be more aware of what I am doing. Elijah Wilder (talk) 16:09, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How do I become a page reviewer? Elijah Wilder (talk) 18:52, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You do not have the experience yet, you have only made one edit to main space that hasn't been reverted. Theroadislong (talk) 19:04, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) The New Page Reviewer page contains information about that user right/permission, which is requested at Requests for permissions. I would carefully read the granting guidelines, though – special permissions are for experienced editors with a high quality of edits. TGHL ↗ 🍁
Hello, Elijah Wilder,
You are asking for advanced permissions on Wikipedia and you have basically been editing for only 2 days! You might be considered for advanced permissions after months of solid editing but you are only posting Welcome notices. I suggest you take a step back and work on improving articles so you can actually learn about Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Without knowing how Wikipedia operates, you'll never be eligible for any additional rights. Slow down and try to learn about this platform instead of asking to be in charge. Liz Read! Teahouse host

[edit]

I see you have a Teahouse host user box on your user page. There is an actual process involved in becoming a host - see Wikipedia:Teahouse/Host start. I'd recommend getting a little more familiar with Wikipedia before you continue trying to answer questions there. 199.208.172.35 (talk) 17:17, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I signed up to be one and it gave me the permissions.
Elijah Wilder (talk) 17:35, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You signed up to be one? Where? You're not on the list. And there are no permissions that come with being a host. 199.208.172.35 (talk) 17:40, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You clearly have no idea what you are doing [1] and this [2] please stop! Theroadislong (talk) 19:03, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok.

Courtesy vanishing

[edit]

Well, that didn't even last 24 hours. Please show some consideration for the other editors who have to spend their time handling your requests.

Courtesy vanishing is a one-time deal. Don't expect any further requests to be honored. Cabayi (talk) 10:42, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, sorry.

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for operating a troll account.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ~ ToBeFree (talk) 17:12, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you are interested in maintaining and improving an English encyclopedia built on verifiability and a neutral point of view, please provide specific examples for edits you'd like to make that are currently prevented by the block. I'll then reduce the block to a partial one preventing further article-unrelated disruption, and you can improve some articles as proposed. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 17:15, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

This is not a troll account. I just got back in. It was hacked due to my password being cracked. I apologize for the actions my account has done. I have changed my password and will make sure it isn't compromised again. Elijah Wilder (talk) 17:17, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

CheckUser data makes it seem very unlikely that this is accurate. --Blablubbs (talk) 17:20, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Stop hand

Is closed. I have re-enabled access to your talk page. A steward will shortly unlock your account, so that you can sign in and post an unban request here. Please use the unblock template as described above. The request will have to be taken to the community at WP:AN, so try to write something that will still make sense even to people who have no familiarity with your case. Good luck. -- asilvering (talk) 22:07, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Noting globally unlocked. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:35, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am extremely sorry for my prior actions and all of the problems I caused as well as the time I took up of those people. I promise that I haven’t tried to edit Wikipedia or make an account in the past 6 months. Back when I got blocked, I was making edits to pages that I thought needed to be edited as well as trying the templates on each of those pages. I was very curious about it back then and didn’t realize how much of an issue and impact it had by me doing that. I was also obsessed with power and wanted to do anything I could to get some sort of access level about everyone else. I did it because I was bored and I found Wikipedia and wanted to explore and somewhat mess around. Since then, I have realized how what I have done has caused many people to take a lot of time out of their days to deal with me. The edits I have been wanting to make have been around my county, town, and some of the businesses in my town listed there. I have gone through a lot of history things about my town and want to be able to share them with anyone whom is interested in reading it. To everyone who had to deal with me in the past and now, I have no words to express how sorry I am for the actions I have done.

Accept reason:

Unbanned by the community, see Special:Diff/1325951423. Welcome back. asilvering (talk) 04:15, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Elijah Wilder (talk) 23:34, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've brought this over to AN, and the thread can be found here. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) 05:55, 26 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@45dogs, this is twice now that you've brought an appeal to AN on behalf of a blocked editor without it going through an admin first. Please don't do this. Leave it for an admin. Happy to discuss why via email if necessary. -- asilvering (talk) 17:58, 26 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
asilvering, This is the only block appeal I've brought to AN, but yes I realized shortly after a couple reasons why not to do that. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) 21:56, 26 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@45dogs, you're entirely right. I'm not sure how I could possibly have confused you with the other case I'm thinking of. My apologies for the mixup, and also, sincere apologies for being grumpier at you than I would have been otherwise. -- asilvering (talk) 22:45, 26 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Asilvering: Do you know if a further cu is needed? Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 02:02, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It was, yes. I can say now that there's no obvious sign of block evasion. -- asilvering (talk) 04:03, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Elijah. Could you please list all of the Wikipedia accounts you have? This includes ones that have been blocked. Toadspike [Talk] 21:20, 26 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Yes, I can! I believe they were HawkCop, AirmanKitten203, and WikipedianHelper123 Elijah Wilder (talk) 00:05, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You're missing CoolWikipedianDude, I think? -- asilvering (talk) 03:55, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, yes. Sorry about that. Elijah Wilder (talk) 15:48, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure this unblock was a good idea. First edits of sock HawkCop were to install common.jss and redwarn before becoming disruptive and then claiming "I was trying to fight vandalism". First edits of sock AirmanKitten203 were to common.jss and redwarn, after block they said "I love fighting vandalism and hope that I can go back to helping fighting it again soon." And so on. Now, the unblock request was for "The edits I have been wanting to make have been around my county, town, and some of the businesses in my town listed there. I have gone through a lot of history things about my town and want to be able to share them with anyone whom is interested in reading it. ". Instead, they have after the unblock been tinkering with their common.jss and redwarn, and then went to the help desk (as did some of the socks earlier) to ask for advice on recent change patrolling. Seems like the interests they had when requesting the unblock suddenly disappeared after the unblock was granted, and the earlier interests, which lead to the block, are now back at the forefront. Fram (talk) 16:12, 8 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Fram, this is a good point. I'm reluctant to re-block someone simply for installing scripts, but @Elijah Wilder you need to be very careful not to slip back into your previous behavior. Toadspike [Talk] 16:52, 8 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Thank you for bringing this up. I wasn't aware that I did that back when I used those sock accounts. I see how it looks now and will correct myself. Again, thank you for reaching out. Elijah Wilder (talk) 16:54, 8 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't look like they've been disruptive with RC patrolling yet, but @Elijah Wilder, I agree, you should stay away from that for a while while you get used to wikipedia editing again. -- asilvering (talk) 20:35, 8 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps some firmer indication that they should stick to regular editing for the time being instead of involving themselves with all kinds of processes for which they lack the necessary experience, like answering edit requests or recent changes patrolling. They were unblocked with an unblock request that said "The edits I have been wanting to make have been around my county, town, and some of the businesses in my town listed there.", which more and more looks like it was a pretext to get unblocked. Fram (talk) 14:53, 9 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I have been reviewing my town's history and other things related to it. I haven't found much more to add to the page on here. The reason I wanted to assist with edit requests was because I thought that still would be considered as "basic editing". Another thing I would like to edit and have made a few to is some impeachment pages and fixing those citations. I am not trying to fall back into old habits nor did I use that as a pretext to get unblocked. I am simply trying to get myself involved in the community. I was looking at the tasks page for new users and I assumed I was also going to be seen as a new user because of this rare second chance. I do apologize about that and I appreciate you reaching out again. All of my edits are in good faith and I am trying my best to not get blocked again as well as not cause harm to any pages. Thanks, Elijah Wilder (talk) 15:00, 9 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Fram, if Elijah is doing any of those incorrectly, that's one thing, but he was unblocked without any editing restrictions. -- asilvering (talk) 16:26, 9 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I know. Doesn't mean that his actions since then can't be conncerning or quite different from what he claimed then. Somehow, between the unblock wanted to edit articles related to his hometown and so on, and now a few days later, they suddenly "have been reviewing my town's history and other things related to it. I haven't found much more to add to the page on here.". They said themselves in the unblock request, describing the reason they caused all these issues: "I was also obsessed with power and wanted to do anything I could to get some sort of access level about everyone else." Getting right back to wanting to patrol things, well, we'll have to wait and see I guess. Fram (talk) 16:31, 9 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
