  • If you need page protection, please report at WP:RfPP.
  • Due to time constraints, I'll be spending less time on Wikipedia than I want to. If anyone raises concerns here about a block I made, and I do not respond in a timely manner, please bring your concerns to WP:XRV. Similarly, if anyone raises concerns here about a deletion I performed, and I do not respond in a timely manner, please bring your concerns to WP:DRV. Thank you.
  • Any admin should feel free to undo an admin action of mine without prior discussion. A ping would be nice. I sometimes unblock high-risk appellants. Sometimes it does not work out. It would not be wheel-warring to reblock the recidivistic among them.

@Ferret: oh I don't know. Does look a tad sus. Maybe ask @Cullen328:. His memory is probably better than mine. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 19:21, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Cullen328 This was about VegitotheKnightmare and ConcernedDKfan. The new user is clearly not new, habit of marking article space edits minor, and picks up an AFD suggestion from the master from the original contentious topic focus. Not a ton for 1 day of activity but fairly suspicious. -- ferret (talk) 19:24, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Any editor who focuses out of the gate on moaning and groaning about the participation of Sgerbic on Wikipedia is suspicious to me. Charlatans hate her. Other than that, I do not recall. Cullen328 (talk) 04:07, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'll throw it at SPI. -- ferret (talk) 13:13, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New username

[edit]

OK, perhaps pretending to think that they want that as their new username was a bit cheeky, but sometimes I just find it difficult to treat silly things seriously. JBW (talk) 23:03, 7 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

LOL -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 23:11, 7 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@JBW: Here's a thing. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 23:34, 7 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it is indeed a thing. In fact it's related to a thing which ever since a few weeks into my period as an administrator back in 2010 has been one of the things that I truly hate about the way many administrators work in relation to blocks. Why block a good faith editor for doing something which they had no reason to know wasn't permitted, instead of giving them a friendly message explaining the situation and giving them a chance to change? JBW (talk) 00:01, 8 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should volunteer all admins who make these blocks to work at unblocks until they see the error of their ways. -- asilvering (talk) 01:18, 8 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 01:20, 8 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Restore page Michael Ayekoo Smith

[edit]

Please try to restore the page so that edit the content. Its not advertisement Nobiluxe (talk) 00:05, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Nobiluxe: It saddens me that you do not see the promotional nature of your edits. Please feel free to seek restoration of the content at WP:DELETION REVIEW. Best, -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 00:14, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please also read the deletion notice I left, including the information linked therein. It will help you write in a non promotional manner. Courtesy notification @Qcne:. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 00:18, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Nobiluxe: I see you were told about the promotional nature of your edits before you posted here. I see you are again editing the article. I see you have not responded to 331dots query. I recommend that you do so before editing further. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 00:42, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

i am sad

[edit]

the wiki guidelines are very strict. I keep writing articles and they get deleted. Its stressful to start all over. The drafts disappear Nobiluxe (talk) 01:52, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Nobiluxe: Article creation is very difficult. My first attempts were deleted too. That's why I give deletion notices to help new editors learn. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 02:02, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So what can i do to restore my articles Nobiluxe (talk) 09:30, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Even what i did with references was still deleted. I want to create another article about Michael Ayekoo Smitrh now. He is a family relative requesting me to do so. I will try to provide more references now, please don't delete Nobiluxe (talk) 09:31, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Nobiluxe: You write in a promotional tone. You are not experienced enough to create articles right now. Disclose your connection to the subject on your talk page. Read the deletion notice I left on your talk page and the information linked in it. Do not try to create an article until you have read and fully understood all of that. If you continue to edit right now, you risk being blocked. I get the sense that English is not your best language because you do not seem to understand the messages you have received already. if so and if possible, you should edit a Wikipedia in your best language. Tell your relative to learn to live with disappointment, as you are not able to create an article about him now. If you are compensated in any way for trying to write about him, disclose that on your talk page. If you were paid in any way, refund the payment.Courtesy notification @331dot: Sorry I cannot be more helpful, but that is where you are right now. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 09:53, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Très intéressant -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:10, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

English is my first language please

[edit]

The way you delete the edits just seems biased. I am.writing an article about someone I know well and I have all the references and information. This is not a spam and all the information is very correct 102.176.75.174 (talk) 10:09, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

In that case, you should be able to read and understand the messages you have received, including the block notice I left. It is not biased to remove promotional content from the encyclopedia. It is not biased to expect you to adhere to the same policies and guidelines we are all held to. I see you tried the same promotion on the French Wikipedia. You have made a serious accusation. Please feel free to raise that issue at the Wikipedia:Admin noticeboard. Please log in when editing. Thanks. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:17, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Why would I get blocked

[edit]

I have all evidence to prove I am legit. You are being rude to say someone is not experienced. Wiki is not a school as I have been writing many other articles elsewhere. The fact that an articles does not provide sufficient information does not mean it's a spam. You too should learn to read the content carefully 102.176.75.174 (talk) 10:12, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please see above message. And how can you claim to not be inexperienced? As I am unable to help you further, please stay of my talk page. Again, please feel free to complain at the Wikipedia:Admin noticeboard. Good day. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:20, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Because you are only here to promote your subject. And because you have not responded to the paid editing warnings. Again. Giid day. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:23, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
In summary, experienced users have tried to help this new user to no avail. I understand and empathize with their frustration. But when that frustration leads to abuse and insults. And when each response I make incites them further, I've nothing left to offer other than "good day." -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:53, 11 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

ZeroGPT

[edit]

This is just a curiosity—in this edit you mentioned having analyzed the unblock request with ZeroGPT. (GPT Zero? I dunno.) While I'm still readjusting to having been on wikibreak from all the way pre-ChatGPT (meaning this might be (definitely is) an already discussed topic somewhere), I'm surprised you used such a tool considering how, from my understanding, it and its competitors still suffer from very high false positive rates. That being said, obviously in this case it was 100% LLM generated, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts on those sorts of tools. I've personally found myself preferring manual analysis of suspected LLMery, though I don't expect that to be particularly more accurate in comparison. Perryprog (talk) 02:56, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Perryprog:They are commonly used on Wikipedia and so far results verify my own impressions. If anything I see false negatives. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 03:08, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I assume you mean LLMs are being commonly used, and if so, believe me, I've noticed—it's an absolute pain already. If you mean LLM detection, then I'm slightly surprised—I hadn't seen much discussion of using that so far; your comment there was the first instance I'd noticed. Perryprog (talk) 03:11, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

An Edit I Made

[edit]

I don't believe this edit qualifies as a violation of my restrictions, but I felt I needed to threw my 2¢ in. I don't plan on taking part in the discussion any further beyond what I wrote (which I thought was pretty neutral). If you feel that I should retract what my !vote, let me know and I'll be happy to do so, but give me time to actually see your response, I'm not always on here. - NeutralhomerTalk04:02, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Neutralhomer: I do not think that violated your restrictions. Thank you for so prominently displaying them where I could find them. What about the edit do you think violated your restrictions? -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 07:05, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't think I did, but wanted to make everyone aware just in case I had (ie: my interpretation of them) by posting on an RfC. Basically, I was just making sure. :) - NeutralhomerTalk15:10, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Better safe than sorry. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:11, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is true. I just looked back at the discussion for a brief moment. The one I contributed to is closed (procedural, moved to something else), another open, and geez! They say "pick and choose your battles", I ain't wading in that one. Ooof! - NeutralhomerTalk15:16, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ooof indeed. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:49, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
