'Free to use images' are those that fall into one of these categories:

• The creator died so long ago that copyright expired.
• The image is ineligible for copyright. This is usually stuff like really simple shapes (e.g. most flags).
• The creator has given permission for everyone to copy and create new works with for any purpose (usually via a Creative Commons licence or similar.

Those images are usually hosted on Wikimedia Commons so that all Wikimedia projects can easily use it. It does not allow images that do no allow everyone to copy and create new works with for any purpose (which Wikipedians often call 'non-free' for simplicity).

However, the English Wikipedia does allow non-free media in limited circumstances. These are uploaded to the English Wikipedia itself and must follow the rules for non-free content. The rules can be found here. QwertyForest (talk) 19:32, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reaching out. To install Twinkle on your account, follow these steps:

1. Go to your Preferences page, and click the Gadgets tab.
2. Scroll down to the Browsing section and find Twinkle.
3. Check the box next to Twinkle.
4. Scroll to the bottom and click Save.
5. Reload any Wikipedia page, and you should now see the Twinkle tab in the top menu!

Hi Robertjamal12, I hope you're doing well! I'm really sorry if this is a silly or obvious question, I'm still very new to editing Wikipedia and trying to learn as I go. I'm currently working on the List of Slovene novels, and I noticed that one of the entries * Gimnazijec (novel) * doesn't lead to an article. Instead, when I click on the link, it just redirects me back to the same list page. I'm not sure how to handle this kind of broken or circular link, and I don't think I have the permissions to fix it properly. The book, Gimnazijec, was written by Igor Karlovšek in 2004. Could you please advise me on how to deal with it? I want to receive your attention related to the Mavala article. I have seen the edit history of the Mavala article which is quite controversial but I have also seen that a lot of reliable information has been removed from it without any reason. I want you to add that information again because this information is absolutely correct and all the sources given in it are also reliable.

This information was removed from article: Many of the inhabitants of the region were Mahadeo Kolis.^[1][2] The region was also known as Bavan Maval (52 valley).Each Maval was under the control of Koli chiefs or Nayaks.^[3] Kolis who were known as the names of Mavala Sardars earned the Naikwadis.^[4] all of this information was removed by [1] edit. From what I can see, the rationale given for the reverts was something like Rv last good before sock edits, which suggests the edits were removed because they were made by a sockpuppet account. If the removed material is well-sourced and historically accurate, it should be discussed and possibly re-added.

I was about to recommend opening a section on the article's talk page to propose restoring the content, along with the sources, so the community can evaluate it which you have done that. You could also contact the editor who reverted the changes to better understand their reasoning and discuss readding
