Question from Nharp49 (19:08, 17 November 2025)

[edit]

Is there a way that I could create a Wikipedia page for something --Nharp49 (talk) 19:08, 17 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Nharp49! Thank you for your courage and bravery to ask questions! I think you mean an article. To create an article, I powerfully encourage you to read an essay I know of by clicking here. It has very detailed steps to fully understand an create an article! If you already know the rules for making an article, you can simply create an article by clicking here and making a draft to submit for review, or you can publish the article without using the reviewing process my moving the page to (Article) space if you are autoconfirmed (find more details about moving pages here). Thank you and Regards! ❤️❤️❤️ ~Rafael (He, him) • talkguestbookprojects 03:31, 19 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:51, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from SunlessFlower (16:27, 18 November 2025)

[edit]

Hello! I was just wondering, what exactly makes for a "good" citation or source? I've seen some articles with notices saying that it relies too much on a primary source. I just want to be clear on what constitutes as a reliable source. --SunlessFlower (talk) 16:27, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I think I can help you out here. A reliable source on Wikipedia is usually something secondary. A primary source is a source that comes directly from someone involved. This isn't always the most reliable because a person may exaggerate their own achievements. Secondary sources are typically things that report on those things from an outside perspective (stuff like news organizations). Tertiary sources are sources that take information and report on it from the secondary source(s). Wikipedia itself is a tertiary sources. The notices that say articles rely too much on primary sources pretty much just means that the article takes its subject's word for it. Try your best to find secondary sources, because they're unlikely to be biased and don't omit much information like a tertiary sources might. This is a rather lengthy explanation that might not make much sense, and if you want more information, you can check out Wikipedia:Reliable sources. If you want a list of sources that you outright can't use (most of the time), you can see Wikipedia:Deprecated sources. Good luck out there!

Thank you for support in November! - On St. Cecilia's Day - patron saint of music - I remember a composition by Benjamin Britten, and have a woman on the main page who illustrated songs, with a sense of humour. My places take you to Milan, my first visit to La Scala, and music features our latest choral Abendlob, with English music. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:32, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
