Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]
Hello Gasybeaugosse2020! Your additions to Norbert Zafimahova have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. —Compassionate727 (T·C) 17:49, 12 September 2024 (UTC)

Please do not attack other editors, as you did here at User talk:Lil Sad Lil Happy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Lil Sad Lil Happy (talk) 20:42, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
- This isn't an attack. Being fan of the band since 2011 and knowing TWA as a metalcore/post-hardcore I don't understand why you removed the changes I made despite the links supporting it. Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 06:46, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
Removal of unreliable sources tag
[edit]Hello, @Gasybeaugosse2020. On Toppling of Assad regime monuments at Special:Diff/1261831415, you had removed a {{unreliable source inline}} tag that I placed without an edit summary or justification for removal. Please read WP:THESUN and make sure you do your homework before removing maintenance tags in the future. Thank you, Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 01:10, 9 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Imamo. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Disambiguation link notification for April 17
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Atsimo-Atsinanana, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bara. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Basta Lion
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Basta Lion requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. JTtheOG (talk) 18:46, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Can you explain me why did you delete that page? Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 01:55, 20 April 2025 (UTC)

- @Gasybeaugosse2020, apologizes, seems as a clicked the wrong reasons. The correct reason is the following: It needs more sources to establish notability. It's notability is borderline yet, it does contain helpful prose, so I moved to the Draft space. If it seems appropriate, after your contest, I am willing to undo the drafting, and move it back to the main space — taking further action instead (i.e. tagging the article with maintenance tags instead). Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Madagascar. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:41, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Wabap
[edit]I noticed that you have created a new article about Wabap. I am fascinated with this musical genre, which I must admit I previously was unaware of.
Perhaps you could expand the article, going into more detail. You could explain further the music's origins and development--perhaps more about its geographical origin, etc. Also, you could mention more people who have recorded in this genre. I think that many people would be interested to learn more about this topic. GloryRoad66 (talk) 16:53, 8 June 2025 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Suffokate (band)
[edit]Hello Gasybeaugosse2020, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Suffokate (band), should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Suffokate (band).
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Pppery}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

The article Northern Sakalava dialect has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Neither current source mentions this dialect, and searches turned up zero sourcing.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. [edit]Thanks for your contributions to Neglect (band). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Onel5969 TT me 14:28, 11 September 2025 (UTC)

An article you recently created, Sahavoay, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - hi I see from the items in your talk page that a lot of your creations are getting sent to draft by different reviewers. This means that those of us who are working to apply Wikipedia policies on verifiability and notability ar3 seeing common problems. In the case of Sahavoay the issue is that much of the article isn’t supported by any references at all. You provided three sources overall. Nothing supports the recognition section or much of the history section; clans and economy also lack inline references. Nobody reading the article can know whether this information is reliable or whether you’ve just made it up yourself. That’s the issue that needs to be resolved. The article needs more inline citations so its statements can be verified. Thanks Mccapra (talk) 12:47, 18 September 2025 (UTC)

DCWC closing update
[edit]Two weeks ago, the 2025 Developing Countries WikiContest came to a close! After three months of stiff competition at the top of the leaderboard, we have our winners.
vigilantcosmicpenguin (submissions), continuing his work on covering abortion in Africa, comes in third with 692 points.
simongraham (submissions) comes in second with 763 points, largely from a slew of good articles about jumping spiders. And returning to the podium for the second year in a row,
BeanieFan11 (submissions) takes the Gold Belt Buckle with a mind-boggling 946 points from his series of articles on sportpersons. Congratulations to our winners!
Amazingly, the award for the most countries covered goes to both
BeanieFan11 (submissions) and simongraham (submissions), who each submitted articles under 30 flags!
BeanieFan11 (submissions) also wins for writing the most quality articles (16 good articles). For submitting 16 articles related to El Salvador,
PizzaKing13 (submissions) wins the award for most submissions under one country. The award for most submissions related to women goes to both Spookyaki (submissions) (7 biographies about women) and
vigilantcosmicpenguin (submissions) (21 related articles). And for the second year, simongraham (submissions) wins for the most reviews, having submitted 21!
Among the participants' contributions were 2 FAs, 5 FLs, 124 GAs, and an uncounted number of DYKs, ITNs, and reviews of every kind! Regardless of your level of participation, every contestant can be proud to have contributed towards a major step in countering the systemic bias on Wikipedia. Every year, millions of readers and editors around the globe use Wikipedia to educate themselves and communicate with others about parts of the world that often receive less attention than they deserve. Thank you for participating with us in the contest and contributing to this effort. The DCWC will return next year, and we look forward to seeing you contribute again! However, before that...
We need your feedback! Join the conversation on the talk page to discuss your reflections on the contest (even if you didn't participate!) and help us make it better.

So we have lengthy discussions at Talk:Madagascar#History section and User talk:Kowal2701#Madagascar where I explained in-depth the issues with your additions, and we came to an agreement to start Colonisation of Madagascar, where I even suggested lots of best sources. Yet you come back to the article adding the same content with old unreliable sources and some of it uncited (to a featured article), which seems to be a case of WP:ICHY. I revert, you then re-revert saying "Don't be a racist Kowal". Do I need to take this to WP:ANI? What's going on here? Kowal2701 (talk) 16:22, 20 October 2025 (UTC)

{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. - You cannot accuse another editor of being a racist unless you present solid, convincing evidence that they are racist. You cannot try to disqualify an editor for being a foreigner. - I didnt intend to personnally attack the user Kowal but it was very unfair for him to undue changes i made which follow wikipedia rules of referency. Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 18:51, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- The user Kowal undue changes i made not because unreliable according to wikipedia terms but his terms. This is what he wrote about refernces that dates during the colonial era : "In the second half of the colonial period, colonial/imperial history entered the fringe of the profession. Colonial historians based their work solely on archives, which were treated uncritically. These were written by colonisers with strong incentives for spin to justify their colonial conquests" Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 19:01, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- Please give some attention on my case. Kowal dont respect the rule of neutrality of wikipedia. Please take action on him to make this space trustworthy not a personnal or an ideological space. Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 19:05, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- You are the one who has engaged in obvious misconduct and so you need to address your own behavior. You wrote above that
I didnt intend to personnally attack the user
and yet you repeatedly called the editor a racist and falsely claimed that "foreigners" should not be editing articles about Madagascar. Those are evidence free personal attacks of the worst kind. Cullen328 (talk) 19:14, 20 October 2025 (UTC)- No i didn't mean that i discriminate foreign editors. Most of editors of that page are mostly foreigners than malagasy. That user Kowal dont want anything european in the history section of Madagascar. You can check my talk page and he said all works between from 1500 to mid 1950s like Grandidier or Deschamps arent unreliable sources because according to him those authors are colonial. That kind response is shocking when it comes to neutrality in wikipedia. Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 19:42, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry he said "are unreliable" Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 19:43, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- It seems like he is the priviledged one in history section of Madagascar page. He undo every change made unaccordingly his views. He reverted the change made by someone else about the piracy era in Madagascar. That's a violation of neutrality terms of wikipedia. Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 19:46, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- Jumping to conclusions about where editors to a particular article come from is not supported by any data provided by Wikipedia. For all you know, they are contributed from the same town as you, or from a small town in Siberia. You have no way of knowing. - @Gasybeaugosse2020: Do you hear yourself? You just said
"Most editors arent even malagasy in that page. Malagasy wikipedians are very rare."
No, it is not a misunderstanding at all. You are most emphatically making claims about the origins of people editing a given page. The information about where an editor is from is not available to standard editors of Wikipedia. STOP MAKING THESE CLAIMS. Further, as I noted above, it doesn't matter where someone is from. Lastly, no I am NOT going to conduct edits on your behalf, as this is a direct violation of policy. See WP:BLOCKEVASION. --Hammersoft (talk) 20:02, 20 October 2025 (UTC)- I didnt mean to attack personnally Kowal by his origin but I am sorry i didnt hold my emotion for him undoing all changes i made even sources are perfect. Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 20:13, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- It's a basic tenet of our policy on reliable sources that recent scholarly secondary sources are the best sources, and we should be using the highest quality sources available. You need to understand that the sources you were using are not
perfect
. Kowal2701 (talk) 21:53, 20 October 2025 (UTC)- Not perfect according to you not Wikipedia. That 1613 Portuguese source is the same as sources i put but you dont like What i wrote. You very subjective. You are working on ideology not neutrality. Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 03:43, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- What's the proof you are even neutral ? 😂 You said in a page you created that all books from colonial era are "racists". Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 03:56, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- No, Kowal2701's comment is correct. While it ultimately always depends on context, virtually no source published before the year 1900 is going to be considered reliable on its own for a Wikipedia claim. We defer to modern scholarship over first-hand accounts. I would recommend taking some time to read through WP:HISTRS. signed, Rosguill talk 04:12, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- Why do the 1613 Portuguese book in that article then ? 🤔 Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 04:44, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- I put modern sources beside old sources so why Kowal still undo these changes ? Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 04:46, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- I’ve said multiple times that I think it’s undue, not only your edits but to have a whole section just on external contact while very little from 1500-1800 on the actual island is covered Kowal2701 (talk) 05:56, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- OK Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 06:38, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- Why do you hate French sources ? Most Madagascar history are written by french and some details are from primary sources and cant be found elsewhere. Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 16:09, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
- I don’t "hate French sources", per WP:NONENG, while foreign-language sources are allowed, English-language sources are preferred. Most editors can’t read French so can’t verify the text, myself included. The opposite is the case over at French Wikipedia. WP:GRLIT gives some good guidance on use of primary sources. But Madagascar#History is meant to be a concise overview, its not the right place for lots of detail Kowal2701 (talk) 16:42, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
- You can just translate to get some infos. I read about you article Sakalava empire and it would be great if you check some Guillain or JV Mellis. Tantaran'Andriana is great too. Gasybeaugosse2020 (talk) 16:49, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
