General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Congrats for putting this topic out for DYK! DYK checks and article checks indicate no problems, hook is interesting enough. No indication of copyvio according to Earwig (less than 4%). All good! Regards, Jeromi Mikhael 00:50, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There is an active merge proposal on this article, and per WP:DYKTAG the nomination must go on hold until the conclusion of that discussion. @ArionStar: @Jeromi Mikhael: FWIW this would absolutely be promoted once the merger tag is resolved. I would propose rewording the hook slightly as follows. Dclemens1971 (talk) 14:17, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
ALT0a ... that the interim government of Nepali Prime Minister Sushila Karki (pictured) was chosen by representatives of the 2025 Gen-Z protests via Discord?
+1 ArionStar (talk) 15:41, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Works for me. Regards, Jeromi Mikhael 00:00, 11 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: It seems like the proposed merger tag is not getting wrapped up because the discussion was never properly started? There is no discussion in the right spot on either the talk page of the proposed target or the talk page of the article proposed for merging. Can an admin resolve these tags since the discussion was not properly initiated? Dclemens1971 (talk) 17:00, 4 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have removed the merge tags as there is no properly constituted merge discussion on either of the involved articles. If the merge tags, can editors check that there is an actual discussion before placing this nomination on hold again. I am now going to promote this. That article should never have been signed off:

  • The "Background" section is completely unreferenced.
  • The section "Current arrangement" is without prose. I would, for example, like to know who decided on the ministerial appointments. The interim PM? Somebody else?
  • I don't think that the hook is confirmed by the article. What's stated there is that they chose the interim PM. That's something different than selecting the government.

Needs to be pulled. Schwede66 22:01, 10 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Good god. Was planning on assessing prep 7 later on today, I'll pull and replace while I'm at it. Pinging @TarnishedPath, ArionStar, Jeromi Mikhael, Dclemens1971, and Premeditated Chaos: for awareness.--Launchballer 22:12, 10 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Launchballer, I agree to pull. With the background section removed it is <1500 characters. My apologies, I don't know how I missed that when I was promoting. I must have been tired. TarnishedPathtalk 22:25, 10 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ugh, I feel like a dope too. Got interrupted with work stuff partway through assessing things and picked up at the next one by mistake instead of going back to that one. ♠PMC(talk) 22:29, 10 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

pulled; discussion can continue here. Thanks :) theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 22:51, 10 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No.--Launchballer 02:13, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, @GreenLipstickLesbian: you may be interested in this given Talk:Durga Prasad Subedi. (I may 5x that article when my insomnia stops insomniaing.)--Launchballer 02:18, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Since the removal of the (unreferenced) background section, this article is now a stub. If ArionStar as nominator isn't interested in getting the article up to scratch, I suggest that someone simply closes this nomination. Schwede66 02:27, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm rejecting this as it no longer meets the DYK eligibility criteria of >1500 characters as it is only 851 characters in length. No predujice against a future nomination when the article is either expanded 5x or reaches GA status. TarnishedPathtalk 02:49, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Karki interim cabinetKarki Cabinet – Similar to other previous cabinet and it's capitalized simple. Other than that I don't think there is any need for mentioning "interim" in page title. A$ianeditorz (talk) 20:47, 14 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose WP:CAPITALIZATION. Other interim governments like Regmi interim cabinet, Girija Prasad Koirala interim cabinet, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai interim cabinet all use interim cabinet in their titles. There could be a discussion to change all of them, but Girija has five other cabinets and Bhattarai has one other. So there is a distinction between an elected cabinet and an interim one. PenGear (talk) 21:18, 14 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose per above. We don't capitalize like that in titles. Ookap (talk) 00:37, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose per above, though I would support adding a redirect link from "Karki cabinet" to this article. Frank(has DemoCracy DeprivaTion) 11:32, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I don't see how that could really be contested; I'll boldly add it right now. Ookap (talk) 12:50, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose: per above, I would also support the redirect link from "Karki cabinet" to thus article. Xaloria (talk) 16:04, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose per above. Given past cabinets (e.g. Krishna Prasad Bhattarai interim cabinet) both proposed changes contradict the consistency of all past Nepalese cabinet articles. Yeoutie (talk) 04:00, 18 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
