The untitled third The Batman film is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Batman. It is intended to be the sequel to The Batman (2022) and The Batman: Part II (2027) and part of the "Batman Epic Crime Saga". Colin Farrell is expected to star in the film. Reeves and Dylan Clark would produce the film for DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures.
Reeves and Warner Bros. planned for The Batman to start a new Batman film trilogy during development.

[edit]Development
[edit]Warner Bros. intended for the standalone DC Comics–based film The Batman (2022) to begin a new trilogy of Batman films by May 2019.[2] By November, some cast members were signed for future installments,[3] including Colin Farrell, who was attached to reprise his role as Oz Cobb / The Penguin for three Batman films.[1] By September 2021, The Batman director Matt Reeves and producer Dylan Clark planned for that film to establish a shared universe focused on the character Batman, which they referred to as the "Batman Epic Crime Saga", that would be separate from the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) franchise.[4][5][6] Clark said The Batman would lay a foundation for future films to build upon while Batman actor Robert Pattinson had ideas for further developing his character.[7] Pattinson and Reeves expressed interest in introducing the character Robin as well as featuring the Court of Owls group or the characters Calendar Man, Mr. Freeze, and Hush as villains in a sequel.[8] The first sequel, The Batman: Part II (2027), was announced in April 2022.[9] The Batman and its sequels were made a part of DC Studios's standalone "DC Elseworlds" label.[10]
