Having been inspired to his heroism by Jor-El and Lara's farewell message which was damaged during the journey, Clark began his career as Superman, the most powerful metahuman on Earth, by introducing himself to the world while maintaining his secret identity at his day job by working as a journalist at the Daily Planet in Metropolis alongside Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane who is aware of his identity.
