Invitation

Black Women's History online edit-a-thon

--Ipigott (talk) 10:44, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Where to register, dear Ipigott. --Garik.Khachatryan (talk) 11:18, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Click on the blue link on the invitation and go to participants. We have been trying to simplify our invitations after receiving complaints on their length but maybe we've overdone it. Glad to see you are interested in joining us.--Ipigott (talk) 11:24, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you!--Garik.Khachatryan (talk) 11:28, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ipigott, I'm an editor from Armenian Wikipedia and I want to participate in this project. Where can I find the list of the articles I want to write from. I didn't find it.--Garik.Khachatryan (talk) 11:48, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry you are having so much trouble, GK. This is the current list of redlinks (under Articles to be created) but I see is does not contain anyone from Armenia. Maybe you can search the wikis in Armenian and in your languages for new candidates or you can simply pick people from the existing list. It's entirely up to you. If you need any further help, just let me know.--Ipigott (talk) 11:56, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ipigott, Can you give me the links of the categories in Russian or English Wikipedia which refer to that women. --Garik.Kh 12:14, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
We have the Category:Black women with various subcategories but I cannot find much in Russian. I see there are country categories in Russian here but many of the articles seem to have originated in English. You might find something interesting by searching for "աֆրիկյան կանայք".--Ipigott (talk) 14:19, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thank you!--Garik.Kh 15:51, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Marjan Farsad moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Marjan Farsad, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi Onel5969, thanks for pointing out the issues. Please, take a look at the updated draft. Thank you.--TonJ (talk) 18:22, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi another editor has already declined it. Right now it only has two brief blurbs about her. You need several (at least 3) in-depth articles about her to show notability. Right now, you have none. Hope that helps. Onel5969 TT me 20:48, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Marjan Farsad (September 25)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by KylieTastic was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Emma Tsaturyan moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Emma Tsaturyan. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources, it needs more sources to establish notability and require WP:RS, WP:IS. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. QEnigma 00:17, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:QEnigma! I understand that the article relies on a single source; however, she is a highly notable figure in Armenia. Additionally, I have included a photo of her plaque, which is already available on Wikimedia Commons. I have just sent the article back to review. --TonJ (talk) 13:57, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello TonJ, Thank you for your message. Please note that for an article to be included in Wikipedia's mainspace, it must meet specific requirements. In this case, the article you created needs to satisfy the WP:NBIO criteria. This requires significant coverage in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject, rather than just passing mentions, in order to ensure verifiability.
I recommend referring to Wikipedia's tutorial on creating your first article for guidance on drafting, and Referencing for beginners for proper reference formatting. In addition, you may find the The Wikipedia Adventure training module useful, as it will guide you through many of the platform's key policies and guidelines. Regards. QEnigma 14:23, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Rambley kindly fyi too, please advise. --TonJ (talk) 14:21, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
A singular source is not enough to establish notability. Rambley 🦝 (talk) 20:51, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
