- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Melekli Siege moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Melekli Siege. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 10:04, 2 August 2025 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Links to draft articles
[edit] Please do not introduce links to draft articles in actual articles, as you did to Armenian–Kurdish Conflicts in Ağrı. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 10:34, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

- @HistoryofIran my recent edit to Mahmud of ghazni was intended to add sourced historical information from a reliable primary source al-dhahabis siyar alam al-nubala vol.17, p.487 I keep the content neutral and properly referenced could you please clarify which part of my edit was considered non-constructive so I can adjust it according to Wikipedias guidelines thank you Shyboii4 (talk) 22:57, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
- Because you're using a citation with WP:VER issues and which I honestly doubt is WP:RS. It is also contradicted by the well sourced religion section [1]. Moreover, there has been for many years been issues with IPs and new users trying to portray several figures as Athari when they weren't. HistoryofIran (talk) 23:02, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
- @HistoryofIran I understand your concern sources I used reliable historical works
- Siyar Alam Al-Nubala(Al-Dhahabi)
- Majmu Al-Fatawa(Ibn Taymiyyah)
- Dhhan Al-Kalam wa Ahluh(al-harawi)
- Mustafa Erdem “Religious and political Activities of Mahmud of ghazni”(SDU Theology Journal,2019)
- here Athari refers to the classical ahl al-hadith creed—text centered avoiding speculative Theology—not to modern radical atharism or militancy— the intent is to describe a historical theological stance not a political or extremist ideology for neutrality it can we phrased as according to al-harawi or al-dhahabi reports... Shyboii4 (talk) 23:36, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
- Please read WP:RS, WP:VER, WP:CITE and WP:OR thoroughly. In short, we base our info on modern, peer reviewed academic works acknowledged in the scholarly world and which is verifiable. HistoryofIran (talk) 23:38, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
