E-mails

[edit]

You can use "Email this user", but I will probably reply on your talk page, or the article talk page, as discussions should be open and on the record.
I have experienced problems with e-mails not being delivered, so please leave me a message on this page if I have not replied within 48 hours.

Broadcasted

[edit]

The Wiktionary definition of Broadcasted states the use is sometimes proscribed, so it should not be used. The word also appears on Wikipedia:Lists_of_common_misspellings/B

Broadcasted appears in some dictionaries, but others, e.g. Chambers state "Sorry, no entries for Broadcasted were found".
Broadcast appears in all dictionaries, and should be used as COMMONALITY - "Wikipedia tries to find words that are common to all varieties of English".

A July 2025 search for Broadcast gave over 255,900 uses, compared with a search for Broadcasted which gave just 116.
Of these, 14 are redirects to "Broadcast" articles, 14 refer to a 2015 Canadian TV award and 5 relate to a 1924 cartoon. The rest are in quotations.

Small Faces article

[edit]

Thanks for the correction, I found it in the MOS here: MOS:TENSE Petticonifer (talk) 21:30, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Petticonifer - I was referring to MOS:PLURALS - British English treats groups, teams etc as plural - see The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin etc. and the opening line of Small Faces. - best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 21:37, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Respected Sir, Can I Know the reason why an article Krishnagarer Utsav ( Festivals of Krishnagar ) has been removed! Its not a spam, I have told about a boy I know personally worked hard to document the festival of krishnagar. Princekng1425 (talk) 17:19, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Princekng1425 your article was not deleted, it was moved to Draft:Krishnagarer Utsav ( Festivals of Krishnagar ) The draft is totally unsourced, the external links are social media, not reliable sources, and you cannot base an article on "a boy I know personally" only on Independent, Reliable, Sources issued by a publisher with a reputation for fact checking, which must be cited in the article. Unless you have such published Reliable sources, there is no point in editing the draft any further. - Arjayay (talk) 21:29, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okk now I get it! Thank you for your Help ! Princekng1425 (talk) 04:51, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Why?

[edit]

Hello sir.

Can i know why you move my article (Tanzir Ahmmed) to the draft?

Waiting your answer, Thank you. NuzhatNajiaNoumi (talk) 13:18, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

NuzhatNajiaNoumi the article Draft:Tanzir Ahmmed has since been deleted as "Unambiguous advertising or promotion" - you do not appear to understand Wikipedia's inclusion criteria - we are not Facebook or Linkedin - we only have articles about WP:notable people, who have significant coverage in WP:Independant sources, with no connection to the article subject. - Arjayay (talk) 16:53, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Warya Rajputs

[edit]

I want to know more about the warya Rajputs, their ancestory, their coat of arms, and especially about Rai Kallu from whom my family claims it’s descent from 39.35.161.217 (talk) 23:15, 17 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please see our article Warya which covers both Rajput and Jat Warya. For more information, click on the blue links in the references section. Best wishes. - Arjayay (talk) 10:04, 18 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Need your assistance

[edit]

Raktabeej 2 - this film doesn't satisfy WP:NFF as of now. Few days back, I moved one article on this film to the draftspace -> Draft:Raktabeej 2.

Now, another editor has created a page with the same title -> Raktabeej 2. Not satisfies WP:NFF once again. But I can't move it to the drafts since there is already another draft article with same title (The one which I had moved to draftspace).

This film should not be having its own page now, just with a few WP:NEWSORGINDIA articles. So can you help me by moving this article to draftspace.... Also, I would be happy to know from you, what to do in this kind of situations in the future.

Thanks

BhikhariInformer (talk) 13:17, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi BhikhariInformer I don't know that it is written down anywhere, as what you should do, but what I have seen happen is to add a disambiguator, allowing the article to be moved to draft-space, without overwriting the existing draft. As an example, at one point War 2 had at least 10 drafts - copypasting from my watchlist these included:-
  • Draft:War 2
  • Draft:War 2(2025 film)
  • Draft:War 2 (2025)
  • Draft:War 2 (2025) 2
  • Draft:War 2 (2025) 3
  • Draft:War 2 (2025 film)
  • Draft:War 2 (2025 film) 2
  • Draft:War 2 (2025 film) 3
  • Draft:War 2 (2025 film) 4
  • Draft:War 2 (2025 film) 5
  • Draft:War 2 (film)

So, as you can move pages, I suggest you do the same, explaining why on the "move" form - best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 13:35, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. That clears all my queries. I will then, move it to the drafts after adding a disambiguator.
Once again,
Thanks BhikhariInformer (talk) 13:45, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Retro (film). This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. You're now the second editor I've warned about edit warring on this set of articles after blocking many of the accounts involved. Stop it. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 16:56, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ivanvector, prior to my reverting of a blocked sock, earlier today, my previous edit to that article was on 11 July - I can't see that constitutes "repeatedly undoing other users' edits" - Arjayay (talk) 17:04, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and that's why I warned you instead of blocking you; I already blocked the editors who made multiple reverts. But when you come across an article where there's been an active edit war for several days, don't join the edit war. Someone who's been here nearly 18 years shouldn't need it explained to them why that's a bad idea. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 17:14, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
