I variate my signature every so often, mostly in color. These are the signatures that I have used and the rough dates for the time I started and stopped using them. Yell at me if my current one is inaccessible.

And subsequently declined by Diannaa. I'm hoping they actually take the advice being given to them. Sennecaster (Chat) 18:28, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

[edit]

Hi Sennecaster. I have some questions. I did my first CCI report and the person was indeffed. You made a comment at the tail end, and I see this new page (Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Obversa) which I've never encountered before. I am available to help clean up or go through the list, but I feel ill-prepared and the instructions are scant. Since your user page indicates your 'thing' is copyvio, I was hoping you might mentor me on this subject. Please can you help me get kick-started on working on these? Questions:

  1. The list of edits, such as "Pages 1 to 20", are these all the edits they made, or are these select ones that some process identified as having had copyvios in them?
  2. If I find that someone else had reverted their edit or removed their content, such as in Princess Ariane of the Netherlands and Princess Alexia of the Netherlands, do I just replace the words "(1 edit): (+7260)" with {{?}} and 4 tildes (that seems like an invitation for someone else to reassess the edit instead of it being a final marker)? Or maybe I should add a little comment like "someone already removed the content"? (In this case, I did not evaluate for copyvio because the content had been removed as a whole.)
  3. In the case of an article they created, and there are copyvios all the way back to the page-creating edit, such as Baroque Pinto, how should one handle that situation?
  4. If we remove copyvio content, do we need to tag for revdels?

I'm sure I have some more questions, but these should get me started.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 01:00, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for my delayed response, I've been busy IRL this week.
  1. They are all the mainspace non-revert edits that are over 150 bytes and not marked as major, sorted by the size of diffs. So the Pages 1 to 20 section has the 20 articles with the largest diffs and so forth down.
  2. We typically mark with {{?}} to signify that something wasn't checked for copyright, but it doesn't matter because it was removed in some way. If the content was removed for copyvio, we mark with a {{y}}.
  3. Most of us will remove the content ourselves and request revdel if necessary, but if you're not comfortable with that, you can blank the article using {{copyvio}} and list it at WP:CP.
  4. It depends! If the content has a copyrighted source that you can identify, and the amount of copyvio in bytes is reasonable for the amount of revisions to be revdelled, you should, but a lot of the content we deal with is long-buried in the article history so we don't always.
Feel free to send more my way, or ask any of the other clerks and admins that hang around copyright space. And thank you for helping out :) Sennecaster (Chat) 19:34, 14 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
