Draft:Yvette Hooites Meursing: Potentially promotional
[edit]Hello. Could you help me compare the deleted version of this article with the new recreation? - BᴏᴅʜıHᴀᴙᴩ (talk, contributions, deleted contributions) 23:55, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- @BodhiHarp: The question is moot because comparing live and deleted content is most useful for considering eligibility for WP:G4, though that criterion is only applicable for content deleted following a discussion (e.g. an AfD). When there exists a speedy-deleted version, you should instead consider whether the same (or a different) speedy deletion criterion applies – which can be assessed solely based on the content of the extant page.
- In this case, though, I checked the references and at least three of them are dead on arrival, which together with other tells in the text, strongly suggests the page was unreviewed LLM output and thus was eligible for speedy deletion per WP:G15. The first draft was twice as long and had similar issues; it was correctly deleted per WP:G11. Complex/Rational 03:22, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

- Deleted; thanks for catching that. In the future, please also place a speedy deletion tag on the page, so that it may be reviewed more quickly if I (or another specific user) is offline. Complex/Rational 04:41, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – December 2025
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2025).

- Starting on November 4, the IP addresses of logged-out editors are no longer being publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account associated with their edits.
- Administrators will now find that Special:MergeHistory is now significantly more flexible about what it can merge. It can now merge sections taken from the middle of the history of the source (rather than only the start) and insert revisions anywhere in the history of the destination page (rather than only the start). T382958
- The December 2025 administrator elections are scheduled from Nov 25 – Dec 15.
- An Articles for Creation backlog drive is happening in December 2025, with over 1,000 drafts awaiting review from the past two months. In addition to AfC participants, all administrators and new page patrollers can help review using the Yet Another AFC Helper Script, which can be enabled in the Gadgets settings. Question about recent edit on Brazil page
[edit]I noticed that you recently removed a link related to ODI and WFP from the article about Brazil. I'm trying to understand the reason for the edit, was it due to relevance, problems with the sources, or Wikipedia's guidelines on external links? I'm specifically trying to find international organizations for collaboration that are extremely important; are these links no longer valid? I am having some difficulty finding reliable contacts related to this topic, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. DataEthos (talk) 22:43, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- @DataEthos: Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for the question. I removed the link to ODI Global because another editor nominated that article for deletion and a consensus to delete on the grounds of non-notability was reached in the ensuing discussion. Wikipedia's notability guidelines require that article topics be the subject of detailed coverage in multiple independent, reliable sources; as noted in the deletion discussion, the article's sources were all affiliated with ODI (e.g. an About Us page), independent but only briefly discussed it, and questionably reliable at best. Because the ODI article was deleted and notability is generally not something that changes quickly or frequently, links to the article were removed so as not to give the impression that it is a notable subject for which someone should create a new article.
- If you are just looking for information about ODI and WFP, though, you might want to look elsewhere on the Internet – Wikipedia is not a directory or medium for business collaboration. Complex/Rational 17:12, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Request for article section review
[edit]@ComplexRational I found your excellent island of stability contributions while starting an article on one of the first American VC-funded startups. Would you be willing to review and error-correct the section on the company's efforts to build a "transuranium accelerator" (the XTU)? Other comments on the article—especially from a "history of physics" perspective—are greatly appreciated! Nickknack00 (talk) 15:06, 19 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Nickknack00: Thanks for your message. I'm a bit busy IRL at the moment, so I can't commit to a full review, though perhaps one of the editors involved with WikiProject Physics can take a look and offer more detailed feedback. Complex/Rational 20:03, 19 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for that recommendation, will do. Would also be glad to get your eyes on that section later, if your time eventually allows! Nickknack00 (talk) 10:56, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
Happy holidays!
[edit]It was great to see you again, ComplexRational, at WCNA (even if that was a weekend full of... ughhh). A little while ago I was going through my early contributions to Wikipedia, and I discovered that we interacted over at synthetic element—you taught me about WP:BLUESKY while I was on a mission to remove the {{No footnotes}} tag. I remembered the lesson but I didn't recall the teacher... thank you, all these years later for that experience! Happy holidays, and have a great 2026 :)
HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 00:51, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- @HouseBlaster: I also stumbled upon your name while doing some Wiki-archaeology recently... who would've thought we'd meet in meatspace and reminisce over that one day? Looking forward to next time, hopefully under less wild circumstances. Happy holidays to you and yours as well! Complex/Rational 20:07, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
