It appears that you have been canvassing—pinging editors on a biased choice of users to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote—in order to influence Serbia men's national basketball team. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. Unresolved
[edit]I see you hve an unfinished revert war with the creator of "Great Lithuanians" in Lithuanian nobility page. So what the heck with the "Greater Lithuanian national thought" in its lede? also @Marcelus: @+JMJ+: --Altenmann >talk 22:49, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Altenmann: I already explained in my statement of 17:06, 6 October 2025 with many quotes from WP:RS who are "Great Lithuanians" (Lithuanian: "didlietuviai") and per these WP:RS they are "Lithuanians of Lithuania proper". Despite that, all these provided sources were ignored by other users and they continue to restore the article. Not a single source in the article or related discussions was provided stating that the "Great Lithuanians" are not "Lithuanians of Lithuania proper", so the article is actually unsourced with WP:RS and damages the reliability of Wikipedia. First of all, use Google translator to translate Polish words "starzy Litwini" and you will get "Old Lithuanians", while Polish words "Wielcy Litwini" are translated as "Great Lithuanians". So how "Old Lithuanians" become "Great Lithuanians"? It is clear even from the title of the article "Great Lithuanians" that this article is a WP:OR, WP:SYNTH, WP:HOAX. This situation once again demonstrates that the only viable solution is to WP:TOPICBAN users who deny the continuity of Lithuania, Lithuanians, Lithuanian language because currently the Lithuanian topics are starting to drown in WP:OR, WP:HOAX, pseudoscience and if such actions will be allowed to continue soon the English Wikipedia readers will not even understand who the Lithuanians really are. -- Pofka (talk) 16:36, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- Pofka, I was talking about a huge chunk reverted and re-reverted in "Lithuanian nobility" page in October-December 2024. I mostly agree with your judgement of Great Lithuanians. --Altenmann >talk 16:47, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Altenmann: Ah, yes, I really forgot that I encountered user Haroldicas before. Now I see that user Haroldicas previously dragged me into revert warring as he defended such pseudoscientific statements in the article as "the terms "Lithuanians" and "Lithuanian" have changed over the centuries", etc. I have no motivation to perform endless reverting, so probably I gave up that time and he "won".
 - There was a long standing status quo of two articles: Lithuanians (about Baltic individuals who are undoubtedly Lithuanians from all centuries, including Gediminid Lithuanian monarchs like Gediminas, Vytautas the Great, etc.) and Polish–Lithuanian identity (for residents of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania within the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth who cannot be explicitly described as "Lithuanians", for example, Ruthenians who held high-ranking positions in the GDL, and also included individuals like Jozef Pilsudski who lived after the PLC was destroyed by Russia, but his national consciousness was still pre-1795). Now it is possibly going in a such a way that we will also have an article "Great Lithuanians" (who somehow are neither Lithuanians, neither Polish–Lithuanians, despite the fact that there were no such individuals per WP:RS) or an article "Old Lithuanians" (which will probably include ridiculous statements that nowadays Lithuanians ancestors are not Old/Historical Lithuanians which would be absolutely WP:FRINGE because Lithuanians continuously inhabited the same land since at least 1009 and created Lithuania's statehood). If this will actually be implemented, then English Wikipedia in Lithuanian topics will look like WP:TROLLING and a totally depreciated, unreliable source compared to Encyclopedia Britannica, etc. There are ABSOLUTELY no disputes about Lithuania, Lithuanians, Lithuanian language continuity in top-class reliable sources. The European Union, United Nations would not tractate "Lithuania" as "Lithuania" and its residents as "Lithuanians" if there were any significant disputes about who Lithuanians/Lithuania are.
 - By the way, I added a new subsection Talk:Lithuania proper#Reliable sources about "Great Lithuanians" (Lithuanian: didlietuviai) to a merging proposal, so I suggest to treat the voting as invalid if no WP:RS with an ability to WP:VERIFY (e.g. check online sources) will be provided and remake the page "Great Lithuanians" to redirect to Lithuania proper (per many WP:RS provided by me). It is not possible to simply vote that the Earth is flat, ignore WP:RS, scientific point of view and then rewrite article Earth that the Earth is not round but flat because somebody voted for it. -- Pofka (talk) 18:11, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
