Guyanese Election

I noticed you move the election win in Guyana from September 3 to September 1. The first results were not released until September 3rd. While voting may have been completed by September 1, there was no indication of what the result was until today. Nfitz (talk) 02:07, 4 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Nfitz: I was in two minds about what date to put it under, to be honest. I went for the 3rd on the same grounds you give ("results day"), but then I was advised to move it to the 1st. Fair enough: if it gets posted to the main page template, I suppose it'd be listed as a 01-Sep event. But if listing it on the 3rd is correct per established practice, feel free to move it back. I'm not sure to tell the truth. Any elections I deal with the results are mostly released before midnight - certainly before dawn. If we do a major leadership change, we use the date of the announcement of the vote results, even if voting was completed far in advance. I hadn't realized you were the original post and the mover.
