Hello! Im new to wikipedia and apparently you were assigned to me as a mentor? I have a question about editing. A user named MikeAllen reverted my edit and they shouldn't have. I made the edit again but I know they'll revert it again. My question is why they did this and how can I stop them from reverting my edits? It's on the page of the 90s version of the movie a little princess and my edit is the addition of an actor in the movie and their character name. When this wikipedia user made that edit they cited nana of style and RW 16.1. Idk what those mean but my edit was correct and clear. If their reason to undo it is because the character isn't relevant, well, neither are a couple others that are mentioned, and if its because the actor doesn't have a wikipedia page, well nor do a few others from the movie. So, I really dont understand why they undid it but I know he's stalking that page because I saw him undo several other edits in that same page made by others. I fail to see how the civility, or lack thereof, of my message to that other user is of any relevance to you or this discussion. That is my business with him, what is it to you? Can you explain? Are you here to decide what is appropriate behavior? Are you here to tell people how to express themselves? Because I was under the impression you were the substitute "mentor" (as wikipedia told me), not my dad. I messaged you because I wanted to know why that person reverted my edit and what I could do about it. Telling me you wouldn't have reverted it yourself, that I can discuss about it on the talk page and giving me your unsolicited opinion on my choice on how to express myself to others is hardly any wikipedia editing mentoring work. Request for help in this unexpected situation

Hi Matrix, remember you had approved my last article on Tilapta Karanwas with Class C rating, for that i am very much grateful.

I have made another page Draft:Vimal Arora 2 months ago which got disapproved and i put my best effort and worked too hard, found lot of references from internet and then submitted it for review. I was out of town for last 2 days and today I checked and noticed that the page had been made live earlier by an editor named Standgusto (User:Standgusto), and I later learned that this account has since been identified as a sockpuppet. I went far to see who this user is and saw following messages on their user page:

	This account has been confirmed by a CheckUser as a sockpuppet of TotalTruthTeller24 (talk · contribs · logs), and has been blocked indefinitely. Please refer to the sockpuppet investigation of the sockpuppeteer, and editing habits or contributions of the sockpuppet for evidence. This policy subsection may be helpful.

Further i saw the blocking message on TotalTruthTeller24's page

	This user is banned from editing the English Wikipedia because CheckUser evidence confirms that they have repeatedly abused multiple accounts. Administrators, please review the banning policy and consult with a CheckUser before unblocking.

I want to clarify that I have no connection with these users, nor was I aware of their involvement until after the move was made. As someone still learning Wikipedia’s processes, I’m unsure what specific issue led to the article being returned to draft space. I genuinely want to understand if there was any mistake on my part so I can correct it and ensure the article meets Wikipedia’s standards. @Amitunbind: no worries, I am not familiar with this sock master and what kind of edits they make, but it has been reverted. @Amitunbind: I think you can use LinkedIn per WP:BLPSELFPUB, but you should be cautious - only use it sparingly. Hi @Matrix understood what you said but when i asked the same thing with @NeoGaze he said:

So this means linkedin is also not an ideal source because people usually create their professional profile there and that too by themselves so it also falls from User generated category.

The org however is not made by Vimal Arora, this page is also showing unverified, when i visited its homepage https://theorg.com/ i saw that they claim that its world's biggest network of public org charts.

i also visited https://theorg.com/org/clove-dental where its mentioning that it is an unverified company page and "Unverified companies are not associated with the company and are based on publicly available data." So it supports that its not made by anyone from Clove Dental company, so not even by Vimal Arora.

I have added this org chart as a reference where its mentioned that he did MDS degree from King George's Medical College in Lucknow (removed BDS as its not mentioned here) just to stay on the safer side and Re-submitted it.

I humbly request you to please check the Draft:Vimal Arora and send it to Live Space, it would be a christmas gift for me from you :)

Hi, Matrix, I notice you have been welcoming mentees to Wikipedia; thanks for that, and bravo! I just signed up as a mentor recently, and found the sole welcome template, {{Mentor welcome}}, wanting. So, I created {{Welcome mentee}} and have started to use that one. Feel free to use it as well, and let me know how you like it. I am active on the Welcoming committee, and I think we need a selection of mentor templates available to us to choose from; spare ones like {{Welcome}}, graphical ones for some users like {{Welcome to Wikipedia}}, and others. In some cases, it might be sufficient simply to add a mentor or Homepage link to some of the existing welcome templates. @Mathglot: I think the new template is definitely more broad since it has more links. Maybe just change the top heading to "Welcome to Wikipedia!", but other than that I don't have many ideas. Making old RfD nominations dark mode compatible

Hi Matrix,

Since your bot updates AfDs made before 2024 to make them easier for users who use dark mode like me, are you willing to do the same for RfDs? If so, could you open a new BRFA request if required? Unlike AfDs (and MfDs), where each nomination has each own page, all RfDs nominations are located on a page based on the day it was nominated (in UTC time) and do not have their own pages. I'm not sure if I explained that properly, but by looking at RfD, you'll get what I mean. Bot failing to remove /div tags

In this edit, and probably others, the bot helpfully replaced the AFD top and bottom boilerplate with templates, but failed to delete the closing /div tag at the end of the page. This leaves unbalanced syntax. It also happened in this edit and on a bunch of pages that appeared in this report when it did its daily run.

I'll let you figure out whether to remove the /div from the pages (better) or from the new template (worse, since it sort of defeats the purpose of having a template). – Jonesey95 (talk) 19:18, 20 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
