@Lamp21, I'm glad you are creating articles on Thai culture. I believe English Wikipedia needs this and, personally, I welcome it. That's why I'm sad that proper credit is not given to the original Thai articles when content is copied from them. This breaks U.S. law. That means the articles either need to be credited the way my posts above describe or they will need to be deleted. Even if you copy content into the draft space, proper credit must be given. That content is saved in the draft history and the copyright of the authors needs to be respected, just like we need to respect your copyright. So please go back to these articles and take the steps to follow the law and save your articles.

Oona Wikiwalker (talk) 21:12, 18 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Lamp21 great job crediting Phra Setthi Navagotta on its talk page! You are going to save your articles. YES!
Most people put the credit also in the edit summary immediately when they translate. If they forget (like I do), they make a dummy edit. They go into edit on the article and they just hit the space bar (I do it at the end of a heading or a paragraph). That space lets them make and edit summary. That's where they put "NOTE: Content in the edit of (take the timestamp of the version you translated FROM) was translated from the existing Thai Wikipedia article at th:Exact name of Thai article; see its history for attribution."
Something different goes in the Talk page. You can see it at Talk:Esther_Peter-Davis. If you go into the source code you can see how it's done. To get the numbers you see there, go into the history of any page. Click on any version. Look at the page address. The numbers at the end are what you want. We call that the "oldid." In the template at Esther Peter-Davis, "version" is the number of the version you translated FROM. "insertversion" is the number of the page you translated INTO and after you finish your edit, complete with edit summary, you get it from the page history.
I know this seems complicated at first. But you clearly are very intelligent; you have the capacity for this. You're going to make Wikipedia better and preserve Thai culture in a scary time. YES!
You can ping me by typing the @ character and picking my name. Please do that if you need help with this and I'll try my best. Oona Wikiwalker (talk) 22:27, 18 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Phra Somdet Wat Rakhang moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Phra Somdet Wat Rakhang. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and it has too many problems of language or grammar. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 14:13, 30 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jo amulet requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G15 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it exhibits one or more of the following signs which indicate that the page could only plausibly have been generated by large language models (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology) and would have been removed by any reasonable human review:

  • Communication intended for the user: This may include collaborative communication (e.g., "Here is your Wikipedia article on..."), knowledge-cutoff disclaimers (e.g., "Up to my last training update ..."), self-insertion (e.g., "as a large language model"), and phrasal templates (e.g., "Smith was born on [Birth Date].")
  • Implausible non-existent references: This may include external links that are dead on arrival, ISBNs with invalid checksums, and unresolvable DOIs. Since humans can make typos and links may suffer from link rot, a single example should not be considered definitive. Editors should use additional methods to verify whether a reference truly does not exist.
  • Nonsensical citations: This may include citations of incorrect temporality (e.g a source from 2020 being cited for a 2022 event), DOIs that resolve to completely unrelated content (e.g., a paper on a beetle species being cited for a computer science article), and citations that attribute the wrong author or publication.

Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. Pages created using them that did not undergo human review may be deleted at any time.

If you think these signs were incorrectly identified and you assert that you did carefully check the content, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Additionally – if you would like to create an article but find creating new encyclopedia content yourself difficult, please share this with other editors at the Teahouse, and they may be able to help. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your legitimate contributions.

Deletion discussion about Japan Theravada Buddhist Association

[edit]

Hello Lamp21, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Japan Theravada Buddhist Association, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Japan Theravada Buddhist Association.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Shocksingularity}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

new article for Alubomulle Sumanasara Thero

[edit]

Hi there Lamp21: You need to look at references for Alubomulle Sumanasara Thero what you copied from the JApanese article where there are "ref name=" multiple references, as what you have copied does not have the primary, expanded reference information. I don't have the skills to work this out properly because of the language issue with jp:アルボムッレ・スマナサーラ. Matilda Maniac (talk) 22:52, 7 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Categories

[edit]

Please stop trying to "add" people to redlinked categories that do not exist to be used. Redlinked categories are strictly forbidden, and require other editors to invest our time into fixing them — but lately, every time the category cleanup report updates I see a few dozen redlinked categories that were put on pages by you. So you must file pages only in categories that exist (i.e. categories which are blue when you try to save the page), and may not file them in categories that don't exist. Thanks. Hi Lamp21. Thank you for your work on Anagatavamsa. Another editor, Mariamnei, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Thank you for your work on this article. Unfortunately, it currently references one source, and it does not have any footnotes. As such, I will be moving it to Draft:Anagatavamsa. Please feel free to republish once you have dealt with these issues. Thanks and have a great day!

On LLMs

[edit]

Hi Lamp21, please consider reading this Wikipedia:Large_language_models essay before starting another "expansion of the topic". It's not that we have to avoid LLMs "at all costs"; it's more about using them with skillful means. Some of your edits are indeed good, which I also find useful, but some are not as good. Sometimes, the articles from Thai Wiki, Myanmar Wiki, etc., have no sources; in other cases, the formatting is quite different from the English Wikipedia. Please also notice that tags like Template:AI-generated are now being added by other editors to many of the Wiki articles that you have edited. Thank you. Sappadasa (talk) 07:50, 25 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please also notice that the calendar used in Myanmar (Myanmar Era) and Thailand (Thai calendar) differ from the English common era. Sappadasa (talk) 09:03, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Lamp21—I agree with Sappadasa, and really think you need to slow down. You are clearly not taking the proper time to review the edits that you've made using LLMs. To be very clear—this is disruptive editing. Can you take some time to acknowledge some of the concerns that others have raised on this talk page? Perryprog (talk) 17:36, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, I'll try to avoid this and try to do a better job of reviewing edits so that the quality is to a higher standard and less frequent. Lamp21 (talk) 17:39, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Alubomulle Sumanasara Thero moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Alubomulle Sumanasara Thero. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because this seems to be a minimally reviewed LLM translation. There are currently far too many primary sources (removing § Books will help with this—an indiscriminate listing of his books isn't necessary), as well as a number of references that just don't work, such as some that are links to anchors that don't exist, and notes that you never defined. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Perryprog (talk) 17:33, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
