Notice

The article Wembley Fraggle has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No reliable sources. None of the provided sources cover the topic, nor are they independent.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. [edit]

Hey! I've noticed that you wrote several articles already, which is great. However, Wikipedia only allows well-written articles for things that are "notable" (worthy of an article), and to prove that something is notable we need to link newspaper articles or books discussing these things. For example, Doc (Fraggle Rock). The first two sources are good, but they are about the actor himself, not the character. In the third one, there are two lines about Doc. Then there's an interview (still doesn't show that Doc is notable), there are links to four episodes of the series (you want "secondary" sources, which are not related to the show or the company that made it). The next source, again, is about the actor. The source number 10 is not about the character, seems to be about the show's cast. And the last source is about the actor again. As you can see, none of these sources discuss the character in depth, which means sooner or later the article will be deleted as not notable. It would be a real shame to see your hard work get deleted like that. May I suggest you slow down and focus on one article, making sure it's properly sourced? Hi. I noticed several Canadian IPs, such as this one, this one, and this one, have been editing articles you created and removing maintenance tags from them. Are you affiliated with these IPs in any way? Because looking at this old revision of your user page, I noticed you're also Canadian. If you are using these IPs, why haven't you been logging in while editing? Thank you. '''[[User:CanonNi]]''' (talk|contribs) 01:48, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited John Hammond (Jurassic Park), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ed James. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Cut-and-paste moves

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:John Hammond (Jurassic Park) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into John Hammond (Jurassic Park). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.  AJFU  (talk) 17:42, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Draftification of Cornelius (Planet of the Apes)

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A page you recently created, Cornelius (Planet of the Apes), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it has been moved to Draft:Cornelius (Planet of the Apes) where you can continue to work on it. Please consider using the Article Wizard or the Articles for Creation procedure. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read "Your first article". You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:38, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest that you work on improving this in the draft namespace to make sure it meets WP:NFICTION instead of the article namespace because doing so will allow you to work at your own pace and perhaps find reliable sources that can be cited to not only show the subject is Wikipedia notable but also that the article content is not WP:OR. I also suggest you submit the draft to WP:AFC for review when you think it's ready because an AfC reviewer should be able to help move the page back to the article namespace if the draft is accepted. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:48, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Logged out editing

[edit]

Hi IAmTheMuppetMan! I saw that the article you were working on (titled Cornelius (Planet of the Apes) and created by someone else) was moved to the draft space here where it's located currently. Marchjuly moved this article to the draft space in order to give you the time that you need in order to finish modifying and expanding it so that it's ready for inclusion into the article space. Otherwise, an editor might tag it for speedy deletion or proposed deletion too soon, and we don't want that to happen. However, I noticed that you removed the redirect left at the original location here and while logged out of your account. I went ahead and suppressed your IP information for you so that your privacy is protected. I also went and merged the draft into the main article. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, and I'll be happy to assist you. Just make sure that you're logged into your account before you save any edits. Else, your IP address will be exposed again (at least until I suppress it again). ;-) Cheers - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:34, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I recently came across the Fraggle Rock character pages you created while doing research, and I wanted to thank you. They’re incredibly helpful, and it’s clear how much effort you put into documenting these important characters. I’m also glad to see that others have expanded and improved them over time.

I did notice some recent attempts to question their notability, which I find baffling given the significance of Fraggle Rock as a cultural touchstone and the central roles these characters play in the series. The show is a groundbreaking piece of television history, blending Jim Henson’s innovative puppetry with timeless themes of community, connection, and creativity. Its characters are iconic, resonating with generations of viewers and maintaining their relevance through reboots and enduring fan appreciation. Moreover, the socio-cultural origins of the series, born from Henson’s vision of ending war and promoting understanding, make it an even more vital part of our shared history.

It’s frustrating to see this kind of thing happen on Wikipedia, but I wanted to let you know how much your work is appreciated. I hope others will continue to build on these pages rather than undermine them.

Thank you again for creating these wonderful resources! MasArjuna (talk) 11:16, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Gillian Anderson

[edit]

Hi, I noticed you have a few times made edits to Gillian Anderson page to put her as British. She's an American citizen living in the UK, but she is not, as far as any primary source can be found, a British Citizen. If you find a reputable source saying she's British, great, but for now the majority of sources list her as solely American, including her own interviews. License tagging for File:Claudia Black 2025.webp

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Claudia Black 2025.webp. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:30, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable non-free use File:Claudia Black 2025.webp

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Claudia Black 2025.webp. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:31, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi IAmTheMuppetMan. If you disgree with the assessment that this file is replaceable non-free use, you can make this known by adding the template {{di-replaceable non-free use disputed}} to the file's page. You shouldn't, however, remove the deletion template that was added. Both templates will be reviewed by a Wikipedia administrator who will then decide what needs to be done. For reference, Wikipedia's non-free content use policy is quite restrictive, and one of these restrictions is the non-free images of living people are pretty much never allowed to be used as explained in WP:FREER and item 1 of WP:NFC#UUI. I wouldn't have tagged the file for deletion per WP:F7 if I felt there was any chance of it meeting Wikipedia's non-free use policy. You can ask others about this if you want at WT:NFCC and WP:MCQ, but the long-standing consensus is that this tpe of non-free use isn't policy compliant. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:13, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
But what if there are no freely licensed images of this person that are recent enough to serve as a visual means of identification for the subject of the article that depict the person as they currently appear? IAmTheMuppetMan (talk) 03:14, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As long as someone is living, such an image can be created (i.e. newly taken), and the person who takes the photo can decide to release the image under a type of free license that Wikipedia accepts. The fact that one doesn't exist now doesn't mean that one can't be created. Once again, you can ask for other opinions about this at the two pages I linked to above (just askignat one of the two is sufficient). Please don't remove the deletion template again; doing so won't stop the file from being deleted, but it will be seen as disrutive and could lead to an administrator stepping in for reasons that have nothing to do with non-free use. For reference, Wikipedia article aren't required to have images per se; they're great for sure when they meet WP:COPY#Guidelines for images and other media files, but they're not required. The defaut has never been to use non-free images when free alternatives are considered reasonable per WP:FREER; if that were truly the case, there would be no Wikipedia articles about living people which didn't have at least one non-free image being used at the top of or in the main infobox of the article. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:22, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Even though your account was created in 2023, you still seem to be fairly new and thus might not be familiar with Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. In general, though, it's not really a good idea to re-upload the same file which has been tagged for speedy deletion as a different file under a different file name. If a file has been tagged or otherwise nominated for deletion, you're free to dispute or challenge that if you want; uploading the same file again under a different name without addressing the reasons why it was tagged/nominated in the first place, though, could give others the impression that you're not listening and seen as being disruptive. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:35, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thom Huge

[edit]

The article Thom Huge was previously redirected in 2015 due to a lack of sources. Of the sources you added, they were just directorial books that give no biographical information, interviews, and a fan upload of a YouTube video. The books lack significant coverage of Huge, and the other sources are primary sources since the subject is talking about himself or otherwise just proving he exists. Especially in the case of biographies, sources are held to a very high standard, and nothing you added meets those qualities. I checked newspapers.com and I couldn't find anything of substance either, so I think reverting to the redirect to Jon Arbuckle is acceptable here. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 04:51, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, please do not undo someone else's redirection without discussing it first. I don't want to start an edit war. Why do you think the article should be retained and not redirected? Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 04:54, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I believe he is notable and I am sure there are enough sources out there if someone can find them. But if no sources can be found I suppose the page can stay deleted. Please do not ban me. IAmTheMuppetMan (talk) 05:00, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Articles are not built on sources that "might be" out there. I did some digging on newspapers.com and only found articles about Garfield animated specials that did nothing but verify that he voiced Jon, or false positive unrelated content that just had the words "Thom" and "Huge" next to each other. Thom Huge isn't really known for anything other than voicing Jon Arbuckle, so redirecting is acceptable here. Some other contemporary actors, especially voice actors, end up not having articles because there just isn't anything substantial to say about them and/or they only did one thing that got any attention. For instance, a few of the voice actors on Regular Show, and the voice of Tails on Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, do not have articles.
You have done nothing wrong. You (re)-created an article in good faith, and I don't think you undoing me was itself out of line. As long as neither of us keeps playing hot potato with redirect-unredirect, then we should be good. The article history is still there in case you or another editor does find better sourcing. Also, I'm not an admin so I don't have any authority to block or ban anyone regardless. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 05:17, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is a shame but if the sources are weak, the sources are weak. Bringing back an article like this comes with the expectation that the reasons why it was redirected thrice are dealt with. I tried to help with improving the article, but I didn't have the time to look for sources with everything else I'm doing.
At any rate, if you believe you can find additional, stronger sources, you can copy the article to your sandbox or another subpage of your user page, and continue work on it there. If and when you think it's ready to be recreated in mainspace, I suggest being more careful. Perhaps take it through the draft process or ask for other's opinions. Of course nothing is guaranteed here. Stefen 𝕋ower's got the power!!1! GabGruntwerk 05:17, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much Stefen! I greatly appreciated the work you did on the page before it got yanked. You seem like an excellent guy. IAmTheMuppetMan (talk) 05:42, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
